I’m a lot closer, so if it’s still available can you tell me the condition, colour and price please?
-
Great thanks Jim.
-
I would be interested, again depending on price. If I fit them myself, has anyone got a rough idea of how much more I’m likely to spend on parts to do the job?
-
As above - I’ve improved mine mechanically and underneath to the point where it only needs paint, but not fussed yet as it won’t increase my enjoyment of driving it. Think I’ll perhaps get it painted next year.
-
I would say leave the door handles and grille as is but obviously we all have our own opinion!!
-
Tell you what - if you’ve not done much spraying before, well done that’s a good looking result
-
I had the same problem, and while I don’t use the car every day, it’s been fine since I made sure the connection at the end of the halo cable was clean (advice from this forum)Worth starting with this easy fix.

Looking at the diagram in the Bentley manual, your assumption re your photo looks to be right - the larger of the two “stubs” for the pipes to fasten to is for the return pipe.
-
I’ve got a Nextbase fitted in my daily driver which is a Touareg, so the fact it sits to the side and behind the mirror is not a problem - bought it cos of the good reviews. Think it may be a little more noticeable in a Corrado, perhaps best to google some reviews for mirror mounted cams and see from there.
-
As I understand it you’re right - B4 OE, B6 sports uprated, B8 shortened sports uprated.
-
I know we’re all different but I’ve never seen the attraction of putting all my money in a brand new car(value drops like a stone straight away)it means I can run my Corrado, Audi 80 cabriolet and a touareg all together, while still having holidays abroad 3 times a year. Like I say we’re all different but it suits me. Those B5 Passats are cracking cars - they do all you want for reasonable money.
-
Update on my issue which might help others - checked everything including removing and stripping rear suspension strut, last thing to look at was axle bush - guess what!! Needed only perhaps one full turn to tighten but that solved it.
-
Not sure my noise is from my exhaust, although it’s a recently (last year)fitted jetex with new hangers. I’ve been underneath and checked but the exhaust doesn’t touch - obviously can’t see when driving, but the noise sounds more like a tapping on or in the bodywork next to the rear seat. Suppose it could be transmitting through body from underneath but as I say it doesn’t sound like the exhaust. Think my next step to eliminate the exhaust will be to wrap it where it goes over the rear beam and see from there. I’m certain it’s nothing dangerous or about to fall off but it’s effing annoying!!

Can’t help,(yet!!!) but I’ve got exactly the same issue, but with Bilstein B12 set up not coillies. I can’t remember when it started as I don’t use the car that much, but I’m sure it was last summer. It sounds as you said to be metal on metal passenger rear - checked everything including calliper carrier to hub bolts as well as everything else in the area, and also taken off trim panel next to rear seat. I can get the noise every time I drive over a slight bump in the road, and even with someone sat in the back it’s not possible to pinpoint the source of the noise (it’s really annoying)The only thing I can say is that it seems to come from inside the body, under the side rear window or close to the seat belt mount on the B pillar - problem is there’s nothing in there which can move!! If I can find out what the problem is I’ll let you know.
-
I’d say go with standard - yes the poly bushes are easier to fit but then you’ve got to drive it. As people have already said (there’s no substitute for experience)the rear axle is designed to have some flex, almost like rear steering. MK4 is a different design.
-
Second that - I bought from them and ended up with the wrong rear springs, but they couldn’t have been more helpful - plus it’s a great set up

Hi Chris, Thanks for the quick reply but I think you're a bit too far to Come to as the bumper is not blue - unless it's really cheap or you could come part way? Tim.
-
Wanted, late front bumper (skin only is fine) Must have tabs to fasten to bumper bar all intact (mine aren't!!) ideally in aqua blue but will be painted anyway. As close to Doncaster S. Yorks as possible but willing to travel if need to. Thanks, Tim.
-
I've got one you could have foc Dave, it's solid but will need painting (no rust) and I'm based in Doncaster S. Yorks.
-
I take it you mean the blue temp sensor? I thought I might change it regardless so that makes me feel a bit better!
-
Thanks, I'll check both those now it's off the road for winter.

Hi all, Any ideas as to what I need to look at on my vr6 - on start up it has an annoying habit of going straight up to 2.5 revs before settling down - it runs fine other than that but it makes it look as if I don't know how to start a car!! Thanks, Tim.
