  1. Topped up my oil this morning and then shot off to work. Half way to work I smell burning oil so I stop and pause for a moment.....oh s**t, whilst rushing this morning I forgot to put the oil cap back on :(. Opens the bonnet.......oil everywhere, luckily the oil cap is still sitting on top of the engine so was able to get to work. Now my question is, there is alot of oil covering the area around the cambelt cover. Should I replace the cambelt as it could be contaminated with oil? The belt doesn't need changing, it was changed last year but don't want to take any chances. Appreciate help (whilst feeling like an idiot).
  2. Kev, how about a pic of your wiperless rear..........steady :D
  3. 5 spokes always suit the C. I like em anyway :)
  4. I just noticed there are no foam blocks on my C either :( but wasn't causing me a problem. Now I don't like having something missing if it should be there so I'll put some on, I might even notice a difference.
  5. We got there on a Thursday and never moved the C till Saturday the day we went home. The photos were the only ones I managed to take, the scenery is far more breath taking than those in the pics. Saturday was the bank hol weekend so the roads were V busy but I didn't go for the roads anyway. Thanks for the compliments :)
  6. Yes it was :) Did I pass you on the A52, you were heading into Notts?
  7. I started using a phone cradle but the weight of the damn thing started shfting the lighter surround pretty much the same as yours is doing. I only plug it in now if I need to use the phone or expecting a call. When pulling it back out I hold the surround in while pulling. They weren't designed to hold stuff.
  8. Managed to take a few pics of my recent filthy weekend in the lakes................my C of course  Had a fantastic weekend, I can thoroughly recommend the Lakes if you've never been.
  9. Thanks Joe M but I've got em already. Just can't get em on until I get paid next month....what a bummer :( That's what a mortgage, wife and two kids does for ya
  10. Just checked on their website - Goodridge kit is £57.
  11. I've bought stuff from them in the past, I'll give em a buzz. Cheers Henny
  12. Will be fitting 280mm brakes to my 16v next month so I want to replace the rubber brake lines with the braided type. Can I buy direct braided replacements, if so where from? Cheers.
  13. Kev, I seem to remember you saying C spotting was SAD :?
  14. I agree and the Corrado spotting has got to go as well as it's completely pointless, and if I'm brutally honest, very sad. ok Kev, if I ever see you in your C I won't wave I'll just give ya the finger
  15. Kev, don't you keep guides on your PC somewhere, e,g word format or better still pdf format? I would have thought this would be better if only there was someone to host them.
  16. Wish I could get my woman to polish my C...........................and wear those!!!!
  17. Just a thought...if you find yourself with a nasty dent you KNOW has been done by the adjacent driver, open your boot and reach for the jack......nice and heavy, could do some sweet damage..........but I didn't tell ya  If I've got my two daugthers in the car (they are 11 and 9) I drill into them to watch the door as they open it. I do this every time but I think they know by now :)
  18. so thats why they are called 'bumpers'
  19. Needless to say, whatever you own, be it a car, lawnmower or something else owned by you, respect for your property should be high on the list...............but sadly it ain't.
  20. Sounds like the spring loaded plunger. AFAIK this opens the hatch slightly when pushing the lock button, an aide to opening I guess. The plastic ring holds the plunger in place and I guess the plunger has disappeared inside the hatch. The lubrication is waxoil, it has it on mine too. You'll have to remove the inner plastic trim panel to find the plunger.
  21. Probably not worth doing it yourself. Exhaust fitters will do it in no time and probably won't cost too much either.
