  1. Yes that's the code, the link throws up the search screen.
  2. Well what an eventfull time I've had - the brake pipe union to the flexi-pipes wouldn't budge so had to cut through the pipe and make up a new rigid pipe to the ABS unit. Came to do the pass side and exactly the same happened :mad2: Anyway it's all done now - see pics I do need to get some new 'C' clips for the pipe union as these no longer hold the union firmly in place.
  3. Wire is now fixed and so far it seems to be behaving better although I won't know for sure until my journey to and from work tomorrow, the error code is still present though  There wasn't a bridged wire although it looked like it from quick glance, it was infact one of the other wires that had a previous fix done to it using a wire crimp. Anyway here's the pic of the broken wire. Thanks Chris for helping me out.
  4. Excellent - that looks like the one, thank you very much. I'll reconnect it tomorrow and see what result I get and I'll take a photo and post it here.
  5. I've got a wire that has broken out of a connector down by the rear engine mount. There are 2 connectors, 1 is for the Lambda but not sure about the other and I'm not sure what the wire is used for, it's a yellow wire. I'm not able to post a pic as the car is at a mates house having it's brakes sorted and I didn't take a photo but I'm back there tomorrow and was hoping to fix it after sorting the brakes. The only help I can give is that the connector that this wire has detached from also has a bridging wire connected to it. The only electrical problem I have at the moment is a rear spoiler not working automatically but I doubt that it will be this. I'm pretty sure this wire has been broken since owning the car. The only error code on VAG-COM is an idle adaptation error. I do have some off throttle and light throttle running issues so maybe it's a broken wire in the Lambda connector. If someone can post a pic for me tonight I'll be able to say which wire is broken otherwise I'll take a pic tomorrow. Thanks for any help at such short notice.
  6. You'll end up with grit everywhere, just make sure you clean them out good.
  7. Jon - thanks mate. Mark - yeah no worries.
  8. Mark, when do you get your parts, Friday?
  9. A quick update - 288 calipers, disks and pads are now ready to go on after tarting them up slightly, thanks to Mark for helping me out with these. They've been completely refurbed - sandblast, powdercoat, all new seals throughout and new DG braided hoses. Very happy with the way they've turned out.
  10. Paul you seemed a little down when I spoke to you on Sunday at NEC but chin up bud :D :D :D you've got the result you wanted.
  11. Yep mine shoots up to 1500rpm for a second then settles straight after.
  12. I like the show, Brewer does come across as a mouthy sort but he does seem to be a little rough with the cars, things like slamming doors and plonking his arse on them whenever he feels like it. Go on the Discovery Realtime website and check out the Wheeler Dealer outtakes.
  13. Are you saying you don't want the kits now? No sorry, just saying that I posted a reply here instead of sending you a PM. Don't see the point in everyone seeing my address, etc.. :) I still want them ;) Ah yes, ok.
  14. It can be a fiddley job depending on your mechanical ability. No issues with C/L. Have a long read thru this lot - viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16145&hilit=repair+kit
  15. Handle striker pin has snapped, PM me for a repair kit.
  16. Gaz, nice one matey. Thanks for the praise chaps but it really was a simple piece of metalwork, nothing complex at all.
  17. Yeah I have that effect on the ladies  Good or bad I'm not sure
  18. Not on your own, I found a few 'corners cut' with my VR. Sort them as you find them, I've done most of mine now.
  19. Passed Chris (G-Lad) in his White VR on University Boulevard, Notts at 4.20pm today, we exchanged waves. Hi Chris
  20. This afternoon about 12.30pm, dark coloured N plate VR heading down Derby road into Long Eaton.
  21. Glad I'm not the only one who's engine sounds less than smooth in the first few mins.
  22. Have started refurbing my 288 calipers and found this thread, has anyone else used Bigg Red caliper refurb seal kits? No doubt they'll be cheaper than the dealer but are they a good quality alternative? Thanks
