  1. Can I interject here, who'll be persuaded to make some? :nono: Go for it.
  2. I asked about these a few months back and was told they are NOT Corrado badges but are a very close match and do fit the Rado ok. Rado badges are obsolete from VAG now.
  3. I'll have a look into it, can do polished screws too if that's what people want.
  4. West Bridgeford or Daybrook? I've been using WB but have started to use TPS in Bulwell, theres a sales guy there with a G60 so we get chatting usually and he looks after fellow Rado owners :D
  5. Nice work but are your rad bracket screws missing or have the heads sheared off?
  6. Yeah I could have re-inforced it no problem but I didn't know it was such a big weakness, I doubt I'll have the car when it decides to let go again, anyway that box is staying put, not going through that again. I've still got my old one so I might see what I can come up with.
  7. Yes it's back togther and working very smoothly. Huge thanks to my mate Andy who led the whole thing - not bad for a Vauxhall trained mechanic, he really is very good, I just helped out :)
  8. David, yes they are very heavy, we used a jack to get it in place. easypops - sorry mate no pics, too busy trying to get it in and the camera would of ended up covered in crap. I can tell you that the diff needed to be point upwards and inserted above the subframe on the right hand side then the box tilted back level, if that makes any sense. You can't offer the box up in it's level state as the diff interferes with the clutch and subframe.
  9. A little tricky as there isn't alot of room, a bigger pain getting it back in though.
  10. A quick update - clutch is in and gearbox back on, just need to do drive shafts and a few other bits so fingers crossed I'll be cranking it up tomorrow.
  11. Thanks for all the encouraging words, don't worry I won't be selling the VR despite these hiccups. Infact after spending money I'm more likely to keep it :D
  12. Only a tenner, that's good to know. Any idea how much a clutch kit is from VAG?
  13. Ok gearbox is off and found the release fork had been [strike:p01af27k]welded[/strike:p01af27k] bodged back together and has failed again - see pic. I'm going to buy a new clutch too as the one on is a cheapy and doesn't look like it's been mating fully. Oh well, I'll look forward to driving it again.
  14. After fitting the slave cylinder today there was no change so it's off with the gearbox. I don't mind so much, the real pisser is having to pay out for new master and slave cylinders to find the real problem. I was all set for going to Tatton tomorrow too :( I'll report back my findings when the box is off tomorrow.
  15. It looked like it bled ok, I didn't use a pressure bleed though. I'll have to check the slave, is it a case of unbolting the slave, push pedal and watch the pushrod working?
  16. Yeah it seems I'll be throwing more money at it, the old master cylinder did feel very loose and worn though. I'll update the thread when I find out more, I'd hate for someone else to go through this.
  17. Picked the master cylinder up this morning and fitted it by midday.............................didn't fix the problem. I'm rather cheesed off......................
  18. Looking good Adam, was good to see you stuck with it. The good times always outweigh the bad.
  19. If I get the clutch sorted then yes, I've got to be down at Stealth tomorrow but I doubt he'll find anything that'll keep it off the road.
  20. Yeah thanks for that Mark I ordered the part on Monday, 2 days from Germany and I collected today. Great I thought, then :censored: :censored: :censored: they sent one for a left hand drive car and it'll be 2 more days for the correct one :mad2: What's more the right hand drive cylinder is £50 more :mad2: I'm collecting one from TPS tomorrow morning so hopefully that will be the one and I can fix it at work in the morning. I've got to be down at Stealth Friday morning at 9am for some running problems so it's getting pretty damn close, if I have anymore probs then I'm goosed :( It was only 2 weeks ago I had to have a new battery - this friggin car is robbing me. Does anyone know if I need to pull the brake servo out a little as it looks very close to the clutch cylinder? Sorry for the moan and thanks for any help :)...................except for Mark  ................Only kidding pal :)
  21. It might be that the striker arms are 'stretched' and about to go, can't really tell unless you remove the handle. You can remove the handle partially for inspection.
  22. Forgot to say the Rado is stuck at work but it's locked up nicely behind big steel gates with CCTV to keep it company. Driving around in an 02 Renault Laguna at the moment.
  23. I've ordered a replacement from ECP total came to £68 inc vat but it's coming from Germany in 2 days. Must say the AA guy was very helpful but he was a car enthusiast himself and how about this for a record - 18 mins from 1st call to AA to the patrolman showing up.
