  1. I raced against a Ford RS200. I have also raced in a Lancia Delta Integrale. I tried a BMW M5 around the ring, it was very fast, a bit like driving a 500BHP jelly though. M3 is much easier to handle.
  2. I'm going to stick with my Audi now, I'm sure I can get it tuned up enough to last a while. I won a little Fiat, but I've not driven it yet.
  3. Apparently they have moved, not sure where, but still at Lakeside
  4. Hmmm, GT4 is stopping me completing GT3. I am 9 races away from the end, but just want to play GT4 now. The autosave screwed me a bit. I got my 100,000 credit from GT3 and thought I would try a few cars out. The first one I got was an Audi Quattro, which I bought and spent the remaining credit on a couple of mods. The game then saved itself and I'm stuck with it now  Its up to almost 245 BHP and I'm saving for a turbo upgrade. Luckily it handles ok, and has just about enough pace to do the easy races.
  5. I've not had any problems with them. The issue with the discs was not their fault, and they handled it to my satisfaction.
  6. I bought some drilled/grooved rear discs for £49.99 from big boys toys. Sounds and looks like they could be the same ones. The threads for the wheel bolts stripped! I always torque wheel bolts to the recommended torque, so they were not too tight. I took them back and Big Boys toys changed them for Black Diamond discs, I had to pay more, but you can't put a price on safety. The Black Diamonds are good. The bolt holes were tapped slightly oversize in the cheap ones.
  7. Mines a 2.0, but flusted mentioned on here earlier has a 1.8, and I think his produces 136Ib/ft. If you want more power you are better off with a G60 or VR6. A 16v will still be a lot of fun though.
  8. Only 151Ib/ft, my 16v has almost 152Ib/ft
  9. Both my Golfs; Mk1 1600 GTI & Mk2 8V GTI used to do this. My C did it when it had a de-cat pipe, but not now its got a cat. My C's mixture is set as per Bosch instructions, by measuring the current from one of the connections on the metering head, the timing is set to 6 deg BTDC, it passed it's mot and looking at its power it must be pretty well set up. I used to love ripping passed slow people in 2nd and changing up into 3rd with the exhaust level with their drivers door in my Mk1 Golf.
  10. Apparently you can adjust the fuel pressure via an adjustment screw, which you would not know about without being shown it! I have tried this and got no performance change, so I put it back where it was.
  11. I've got one of them and a 2 foot long breaker bar
  12. It works with Vag-com, and yes it works with an R232-USB2 convertor. Make sure the converter is USB 2, apparantly people have had problems with non USB 2. I used this http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/ ... cts_id=842 You also need a gender changer like this http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/ ... ucts_id=41
  13. Mine is opto isolated, and Vag-com appears to be fine with it.
  14. I have one from here, works perfectly. http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/obdii_hardware.htm
  15. Chris most Seat owners seem to go for Forge re-circulating dump valves. Have a look on http://www.seatcupra.net
  16. Duffer, the main thing I noticed was an increase in mid to high rev power, plus it will rev higher than with the original 9A inlet cam. The exhaust cams are identical on KR & 9A engines. I wouldn't go for brand new, I'm not sure how much they are but would expect them to be quite costly. Mine came from an engine with around 120K miles and was in perfect condition.
  17. chris CORRADO Oh yes, the video clip of the speedo, I remember that. I did a similar video of mine, but its too big to put on here. Wasn't as quick as yours, mine did 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds.
  18. Sambo, thats pretty good, mines on 150k, so not far behind yours.
  19. So then, so far Flusted and I share the highest BHP!! I reckon there must be people with higher power from a valver on here. Thorpey's looks like the highest spec to me, but no power figures...
  20. If you get the Leon Cupra it's 180 BHP too :D Build quality is the same really, I have a Leon, my dad has a Mk4 Golf, same car basically. Leon has Audi A3 dash too.
  21. I've got one now, second hand, they had a couple in stock, mine cost £30 incl. P&P. from Blackman Motors 01580 291146. This is the complete assembly.
  22. O.k. brand new prices for fog lamp assembly quoted yesterday, all are + vat. VW Dealer - £72.48 Volksapart - £68.00 Euro car parts - £64.50
