should i be geting beaten by these cars?
corradophil replied to mistrall's topic in General Car Chat
Mistrall, if you are tempted to go for throttle bodies, make sure you can get it through an mot. Yours & mine for that matter are just new enough to need a cat. -
Thats very bad news. If I spot anything I'll let you know.
-
Cool pics, it was good to meet you both on Sunday.

You should be able to pick up a KR inlet cam for around £30 second hand. You only need the inlet can, because the exhaust cams are the same on 9A and KR engines. I have done mine in under 2 hours. -

Mine does ok! Even had a little play with a Civic Type R, and was not a million miles off the its pace. -
After the C.... what would you have?

I'm currently driving my Corrado and my Seat, which has an AUQ 180 BHP engine. Planning to sell both and get an A3 1.8t. My dream car is a Black Porsche similar to the one in bad boys. -
Peter, that lools really good. I think you should have the late grill with the grill spoiler.
-
Don't know about tuners, although stealth have a good reputation. I paid £20 for my inlet cam from a mate. I have seen them going for about £30 before.
-
From experience. 1. Overhaul and flow head at the same time. 2. Replace inlet cam with one from KR engine 1.8 16v Mk2 Golf
-
Jo - Looking good  Kev, you look like Michael Schumacher in the photo of you in your C  I'm at work and the best I can find is this one taken at a work do last year.
-
Found this a while ago.

How about a Leon Cupra. 1.8T 180 BHP. 6 speed box. Climate control. The cheapest ones are going for around £5000, and you end up with a similar spec car to a Mk4 Golf anniversery, but also get the nicer (IMO) Audi dashboard.
-
From past experience I would go for standard Ferrodo ones available from Halfords. I have Pagid fast road pads on mine, although they stop you, they do not have amaizing bite.
-
 Quite nice really, prefur it to your Corrado!

I bought a Corrado/Scirroco box set at Wolfsbug last year - Cool aren't they.
-
Storm, do you mean me or MBeadell? Really! I was doing about 20,000 miles a year, and got fed up with the lack of refinement - couldn't live with it every day even though it's the most fun car I have owned. Could have bought it back 6 months ago, but knew it would be a mistake.

Try not to be too attached, it is only a machine. I think you will find you won't miss it as much as you think. I have been considering selling mine for the last year, and am very near to putting it up for sale. I was in this exact same situation with my Mk1 GTI, it was my pride and joy and I was very attched to it after 2 years of commitment to getting it how I wanted it. I miss it, I'm very glad I had it and did everything I wanted to with it but also have no regrets about selling it. Time for a new project.

I love the old harcore etc. One of my mates has just got technics decks, he's gonna put some CDs together for me soon. I have a couple of Slammin Vinyl Absolute Old Skool Classics cds which are really cool.

I used to get through pads and discs on my MK1 Golf GTI very quickly, which gave me a chance to try a few different pads, the worst ones were kevlar fast road, not sure what make but they were dangerous. Once they were really hot the car just would not stop. The best I tried were normal Ferrodo pads from Halfords.
-
Which special edition is that? There was one being discussed on here a few weeks ago, I think it was called the Scope. I love the body styling, much more streamlined than the normal version. :D
-
Funny that, I have Pagid fast road pads all round, with Zimmerman drilled discs on the front and Black Daimond drilled/grooved on the rear. All fitted in the last year. I have G60 front discs/callipers. I also have goodrich hoses all round. My breaks are not too good. The peddle is firm enough, but they don't have loads of bite. Just passed its MOT with no problems. I have my doubts about Pagid pads to be honest, but there is so much wear left in them I'll probably never change them again, unless I keep the car for a good few more years.

Drilled & Groved disks from Volksbits vs G & S Bremb

Maybe we could set up a small bar too... -
And still have to paint it, and blend the tops of the wings

That would be quite funny. I'd probably be up for it. -
I am about to try this myself. I have the equipment for OBD 2 which I use on my Seat. My dad has just been looking at the wiring for my C and it does have the same 4 cables. I'll keep you posted. Mines a 93 2.0 16v with 4 connections by the way.
