A much as I hate to say it, my Leon 180 BHP would eat my C for breakfast.
-
Not According to their web-site. Have a look, is it out of date?

No the sensor must not be touching the inside of the disc. The gap between the two parts is critical, if it is incorrect the light will still be on. I can find out for definate, but if I remember correctly it should be a 0.6mm gap. I've tried the gunsons reader from halfords, and could not get it to work on mine.

Supercharged, the number for my broken lense is 301 140 865. Are you going to ring Hella?

What is your 16v spec & how much power does it produce?
corradophil replied to corradophil's topic in Engine Bay
I have no definate prices, but I think you'd need at around £1500, but it depends what you go for. From what I have read on Glub GTI's forum, I should be able to get around 200 BHP by converting to these. Joby, I had a little go a a Civic Type R too, and was suprised how well my Corrado did against it. Mistrall, when I had my car on the rolling road, it was £30 if I remember correctly, but that was part of a group booking through the forum. There are lots of tuners around the country who would put it on their rollers for you. It depends on your spec tuning wise, mine is all set up to standard factory settings. -
What modifications have you tried, or is it standard and your happy with its performance? What works, what doesn't? My mods 9A engine (2.0 16v) running standard ke-motronic injection. KR inlet cam - The best modification so far, £20 second hand & I fitted it myself. I tried Schrick 268/276 cams, but it was slower and much less refined. After lots of messing around with ignition and valve timing I gave up and sold them. Gas flowed head and manifolds - Similar effect to KR cam, but cost me £100 approx and about 4 days work, again I did it myself after loads of research. Lightened flywheel - Standard flywheel machined down by Race Power Motorsport. £80 More lively in 1st & 2nd gears with no loss of driveability. I'd recommend doing this if the gearbox is out for another reason, i.e. clutch. Jetex replacement air filter - Very slight performance difference £27.75 fro C&R. Cold air intake - I have ducted cold air from behind the grill into the airbox, the performance is the same as drilled airbox, but slightly less noise. Magnex cat back exhaust - This was already fitted when I bought the car, so I cannot comment on performance gains. Cat by pass - This was also fitted when I bought the car, had to by a Cat to pass MOT. I now have the cat permanently fitted, its seems to have better mid-range power with it. Throttle bodies - I would love to have these, but probably won't get them due to cost. My power output is in my signature. Not bad considering the money spent or not.

Funny picture of a Corrado and its owner!

Maybe the Doc couldn't decide how he wanted his hair, it sure looked that way in the films. So he shaved it off. Also he upgraded his car. :) -
They are 15" which can look good on a C. You have 205/50/R15 tyres, how about 195/50/R15 will give a smaller side wall height. Maybe a little lowering and it should look cool.
-
When I had mine re-sprayed I left them off, I much prefur the look of it like that. I now have two parking dents in the passenger door though

Mines Pearl effect Green.

I agree, it would be good if CF and CCGB supported each other, a bit. There could be an article in the sprinter mag, "Hot topics on the Corrado Forum" with a preview of the most popular informative topics, that would be a great advert for the forum, plus done right could be an interesting addition to the magazine. Compared to other clubs/forums i.e. club GTI, we are a minority, so why not make the most of the numbers we have got. I'd also happily see some of my CCGB membership money going towards the forum.

I'd imagine you would at least match my power. I played around with an adjustment on the metering head, but it made no improvement, so it is back to where it was originaly now. Maybe it was at its optimum setting already. Remap is a bit of a lottery, when I looked into it, there appeared to be little scope for gains re-mapping Ke-Motronic. I would be interested in comments from anyone who has done this though.
-
I looked into it, AMD reckoned about 15 bhp increase, but after speaking to several tuners, stealth included, I decided against it. The general opinion seemed to be, unless the mixture wrong or it has an ignition timing problem, then you can't do much. If it is fueling wrong or the ignition is timing is wrong, that suggests a fault rather than it requiring a re-map. Forced induction cars are the ones which you can get substantial gains by re-mapping.

A mildly modified 16v is fun without being to rough and ready, but there is a limit. I passed the limit by fitting Schrick 268/276 cams in mine. The lumpy idle which made the car throb like a funny car was great for about a week untill the novelty wore off. To top it all, I couldn't set it up to produce any more power. It goes a hell of alot better with a KR inlet.
-
I've got a Momo Race, definatley a good choice. Goes well with platinum interior trim colour too.
-
I've made one, but agree for £15 you'd be better getting that.
-
I agree with Kev, sounds ok. Plus if its faster than your old one surely thats ok :D
-
Mines not standard, but I can scan the plots if thats any use. You can see where my peak torque is in my signature.
-
My engine management warning light came on last night, car seems to run ok, maybe a little less power than usual. Is there anyone near to me i.e. Chelmsford, Basildon, Southend who would be kind enough to download the fault codes for me. I am able to drive the car so there is no problem getting to you. Thanks.

That is gorgeous, one day I will have a 911. I remember driving an M reg Carrera 2, absolutely amaising. Made my 8v Golf GTI that I had at the time seem a bit rubish.
-
Yeah I agree stick with K-jet, or of you really want a difference, throttle bodies.
