Just building a 16v g60 engine, got a 1.8 16v box and a g60 box, which should i use? 16v box is an AGC code, have access to 2l 8v passat box aswell

both really, the faster i go the cooler it gets, theres not that many roads i can give it stick on the isle of wight without loosing my licence tho :lol:

my sensor is in with the co pot so see's whats the co pot see's.

My co pot is adjusted to 450ohms as per the sns instructions that came with the chip for the red tops, went through emmissions fine at mot time, does puff a bit of black smoke on hard acceleration

also mk2 golf 1.6 carb models dont have the heat exchanger. I thought its best to leave it there as it helps the engine warm up quicker then the oil cooler can keep the temps stable?

sounds like timing or lambda issues maybe? always a good start to clean up all your earth points inc earth strap from battery

take the grill off and check the oil return isnt leaking from the charger, other than that possibly rocker cover or sump gasket?

you need to extend the fingers by 3" like this Right i need some questions answered regarding 16v/g60 on digi 1. 1. Can i use the 16v dizzy with the digi 1 and will it just plug in? 2. Has anyone come up with a good solution to fitting a BTS to one of the coolant pipes? 3. what spark plugs should i run?

Im thinking of going down the 16v/g60 route and thought it would be a good idea to have 1 thread with lots of info in it. I have a few questions. Obviously theres a few different ways of doing the conversion but i was planning running a KR with a head spacer plate to lower compression? I was planning on using a modified 20vt fuel pressure rail. What alternator combo can you use to give clearance for charger? is it possible to use the mk3 8v gti alternator and brackets as this might sit it below the charger? If i fit the 16v engine in the car with the compreesion lowered but without the charger fitted, would it still be drivable on the digi 1 management? if yes, should i run the standard chip and injectors or my red tops and sns? Also can i use the g60 dizzy in the 16v block? is it a straight fit or do i have to change shafts? Any tips,experiences, info appreciated,

my hose was leaky, snipped the end off and rejoined it with new jubilee. it maybe that, not the sender?

I put counter sunk screws in my spindles, didnt want to thin the spindles out though as scared at forces that would be pushing on them

This is frustrating me reading this. Mine done exactly the same, tape the switch, cures it, as i stated before, mine was fixed once i added red tops and different fuel pressure reg. Its without a doubt running to lean causing the popping up through the inlet, the ecu ignores lamda for first few minutes (mine also drove fine then) but as soon as it went to lambda reading it was too lean. Have you had c/o checked? Still think fuel pressure needs testing

think it only affects mixture on idle and a very small point of enrichment on light acceleration
