James. 9 Posted November 4, 2010 am I too cynical? Not at all. The insurer will be looking to follow company protocol to the letter. Unfortunatly, when you deal with a huge organisation, it leaves very little room for "emotional attachment". :hitler: Thankfully there's space in this world for at least a little humanity. :flower:
awright182 0 Posted November 4, 2010 On a slightly different tack perhaps but bear with me. As well as the Corrado I have an MGTF in a limited edition yellow colour. I've just had an email from another MG forum member who has had her car repaired and completely resprayed and guess what? It is no longer the colour it once was. She now wants to come and take pictures of hers alongside mine because it ain't the colour it is supposed to be. No wonder the insurers don't want cars coming back to haunt them. Easier to write it off. Stick with it KIP. Get the car repaired but make sure it is an invisible mend.
Guest Posted November 16, 2010 IT'S AGREED. REPAIR AUTHORISED. NOT WRITTEN OFF :D :D :D :D    Yes I know I was shouting... I bet Kip is screaming the news at the top of his voice. Just hope a good job is made of it... the guy at the bodyshop chosen is into VW's and sounds very very keen to show what a good job can be made of it. Kip is planning on checking out some of the work they have done before handing his over though

Portent 0 Posted November 17, 2010 Great news. I can't recommend Shiltons in Epping, Essex highly enough. They really are superb (pants website though!). I've been using them for years on various cars and now travel from Surrey to get there for anything I need. They are quite expensive though. And not exactly close to you. But they will do a great job. Most of the cars they work on are top marques which is also an indication of quality. Shame they aren't closer to you. Guest Posted November 17, 2010 Two detailed quotes (from bodyshops Kip was confident about) were sent to the insurance co to show that the car could be repaired at a reasonable price and the repair has been authorised to be done at either of those two. Kip has chosen which one he prefers and is expecting to take the car in next week. I'm sure there will be plenty of updates on progress and feedback on the work.
