Be good to see yours out. The MPG, is always off, and the spirited drive home never saw those figures π
-
Took her out for the drive to work as I needed to get the wheel alignment set up properly . I had a steady plod down the motorway and she behaved very well

Pictures sorted, well done. Loving the state of it. I'm disappointed with some powder coating I've had done as rust has come through. I had the front panel redone with a nylon coating that seems better but was twice the cost. Where exactly is the swine bolt, I cant work it out. It will all look great though when done. I have a bushing tool if you need to borrow one , but I think you may be sorted. Here if you need it and I'm happy to post

Gutted. Did you not consider ripping it out. Although only the wiring, some brackets and the evaporator box are useful

Sorry I can't help with this one. I knew there are 2 different filters for the years. How about replacing the broken part with a 2nd hand unit, but totally understand if you want new. I've never read about people swapping the whole unit it over to a later model, but I suppose the problem will only arise now early parts are obsolete. Anything is achievable π Have you looked on VW classic parts to see if they do the part?

Hows this going Matt? π

I get what you mean. Do VDO do a boost gauge. Still great work though π
-
Took her for a re-gas of the aircon today. Slowly chipping away at the little jobs that need doing. And still no strange knocks or bangs whilst driving thankfully.
-
Came off nights and the 1st decent day in a long time, so gave the interior a clean with a carpet spot cleaner machine. Dirty dirty water so it must have done something good. Dried stain free thankfully. I still need to sort the tracking and the tyre the garage flipped round keeps losing pressure!! As we all know these keep us busy, but it was a nice day and a couple of great C porn pictures topped it off

It does look good, great effort. π
-
Sounds a great idea. Do you have any pictures of it fitted
-
All gone now I believe, but were definitely a more sensible price.

You know you can't ever drive it. At that level it needs going in a museum π. I would love to be able to get to this level, so glad the forum is back online and I can see these pictures

Managed to get the car out and brave a 30 mile motorway journey to work. The car never missed a beat, sitting at about 90Β° water and 106Β° oil. Mpg wasnt to bad as i took it steady. . At some point I added the one touch indicator relay which is a godsend for changing lanes. Also fitting the heated seat elements from Classic parts made my journey lovely and toasties. No knocking noises from all of the bloody pot holes either which is nice. The car seems to be behaving

Thank Matt. I may take it back to the Nottingham wheel alignment centre near my work. He did it last time and made it good. I need to stop messing with the front end and then i wont create this problem

Welcome π. Be nice to hear more about the 16VG60. Maybe JMR will look in on this. The cars look great, apart from the steering wheels are on the wrong side !! π

I go down to work south on the M1 and have twice seen a green Corrado join the motorway with me at J27. Hopefully it is fine. More importantly I am glad it wasn't me after getting her back on the road π

Well, it's a PASS so happy days. Grateful that they sorted a few issues before, that were needed but it all comes at a price. They have struggled to sort the camber out..... as everyone seems to with this car. Does anyone else have issues getting their tracking set up correct. I believe most of us are slightly lowered, but that's all it has. And it does have a camber adjusting bolt either side of the struts. But the big win was filling the 70l tank up with Super Unleaded and using the Nectar points to pay. It only cost me Β£2.80 π

Thanks mate. I'm still waiting for the phone call. I also asked then to do the tracking so I took the centre caps off. Hopefully see you when it's all legal

Pinch, punch 1st day of the Month. The Corraco has gone for her MOT and looks ridiculously small next to other cars. Interesting that as I pulled in the MOT centre, the mileage has just hit 123 456 miles. What's the chances of that π Anywayπ€π€for a miracle
-
That does look good. I meant to ask, have you changed the gearbox oil. I put some Redline MT90 in mine and it felt like a different box
-
I've still got my original too, so no help really. I had decided to Supersprint it after ChrisL put his on. I like it lots, but it ain't cheap. My other option was to get one made up with exactly the same tailpipe as the original, just a thought. Lots of people have the Miltek on though. Good luck with your decision π
-
Looking forward to it π. Hopefully I have found a better garage to MOT it. The last one failed it on a loose nut!! I took it straight home, checked everywhere and Nothing loose.... straight back having a tantrum and then it passed.. An unnecessary Fail on the history π€¬

7 days and counting. Mot time... Been a while since I last drove her, getting on 2 years I think. Fingers crossed π€ she passes Friday then time to give her a blast
