  1. Hi, Thinking ahead to a winter job - my corrado squeaks on the front axle when driving. It squeaks like a little mouse and that goes when the brake is applied. The car has spent many months being worked on - can the bearings dry out or something? I've not worked on the bearings before but see these ones need to be pressed in. There is no play in the wheel on the standard checks and no noise spinning by hand. The brake calipers have been refurb'd. Any other thoughts on what it might be? Cheers
  2. Haha Keyo good looking boy though. Nice seats but a bit rich with the damage - isn't that material really hard to find as well?

    G60 - Wanted

Me too cressa I'd like a nugget but really any colour will do me as long as it has leather interior (or recaros but that might be pushing the boat out too far). I don't really want one that needs the full works like my old mk2 but would consider small amounts of welding and mechanical work such as a blown charger since I am not that far from Jabba but am looking for something with a good overall body. I keep looking at trying another car like an old merc or bmw but circle back to VW. I've not had an old 80s/90s boosted car before either.

    G60 - Wanted

Throwing some feelers out there. I want a G60 in my life. Must have leather, don't mind on colour or mileage. Preferably MOT'd but let me know if you have something that fits the bill. Would consider a mechanical project but don't want a really rusty one... Cheers Matt
  5. Ah i saw your corrado pop up on my feed on instagram. Panelkraft are not too far from me (Arlesey aren't they rather than Stevenage?). They certainly do a good job from the pics!
  6. Nice find on the parts. I had a similar problem with cars nose to tail and found it a pain when I had 3 lined up and wanted the back one out. Eventually your Corrado may have to come out of the garage to enable the mk2 to sit in bits for restoration ... My corrado lives under the carport attached to my garage ironic as I built the garage for the Corrado but need a workspace for the project car.
  7. I have put 95RON in mine in the past but it felt flatter vs Premium stuff. Premium also gives consistently more MPGs so factoring that in it's not that much more money.
  8. Welcome and good to hear of a 1 owner car. Let us know the story of the car over those years - any major works or fun times 🙂 ?
  9. You could bridge your fuel pump relay (167 or 67) or swap relay 109 into it's slot to constantly run your fuel pump on ignition. I have a relay 100 as a spare as it does the same thing - bridges the contacts so the pump runs constantly. Connect a fuel hose to your lift pump exit and drain the tank. Disconnect your underbody one so it doesn't run dry.
  10. My 16v (9a) project wasn't running as smooth when i saw it last week (it's stored away from home at the inlaws). My in tank fuel pump was dying (noisey) and evenutally failed completely - might be worth checking on yours. My symptons were a rough idle and a bit of black smoke on the exhaust. My fuel is also old - 3 years i'd say. I had not realised but you're meant to replace both fuel pumps when one fails as the other drags the good one down to failure. I had replaced the underbody one with a new bosch unit last year.
  11. Just read the thread out of interest as have a 16v I either need to sell or do something interesting with and noticed the houses and thought familiar too. I grew up on Friern Barnet Lane (no 22) close to Colney Hatch Lane and had friends that lived in the new housing estate on Colney Hatch Lane. Long time ago now but was there when this posted lol.
  12. Looking smart. I'm pleased to see the professionals use the same technique as me with tigerseal 😄 lol
  13. It is the washer jet as you say
  14. Nice! Seeing this is making me want to keep my mk2 project that I had spent weeks coaxing myself into selling.
  15. Much easier to clean than the usual BBS's as well. I have recaro seat envy. I need a black leather pair to finish off my car. I hope some kind sole reads that and sends me a PM haha.
  16. They are a nice design those BBS's.
  17. You should be fine with it outside. Many garages are damp without airflow and that is far worse than being outside! My Corrado was garaged for 15 years of it's life but I still had some rust repairs to do recently. I have a garage but my other car is in there at the moment and the Corrado lives under a car port now. As long as the plastic door membranes behind the door cars, scuttle panel is clear of debris and sunroof drains clear you should have no problems. Think about some cavity wax protection over time to keep things nice and layer some of the wax over the underside and anywhere water may sit - battery tray for example.
  18. I'm with Gold on this - covers are not good no matter how clean you get the car prior to putting it on or how "padded" or "soft lined" the cover itself is. It will rub on the paint in the wind and cause damage of time. If you have a garage then an indoor cover is good as you're not getting the wind moving it about. I would either invest in a Carcoon (~£600) or leave the car out in the elements and keep it washed and protected. Unfortuantely rather than the rain and snow it's actually the Sun that causes the most damage in my opinion, hail stones aside, although I'm not sure a car cover would protect against that either. The other downside of covers is that they deter you from using the car. Washing and thoroughly drying the car after every single trip gets tiresome quickly. Can you build a car port?
  19. Yeah defo not tilting upwards all the way but seems to slide back ok
  20. I thought it was that car but couldn't find the information on it. Good to confirm
  21. Maybe it is the lighting but the colour doesn't look right - Mystic is meant to have a bit of purple in it - however looking at the inner part of the drviers door it sill has one of the original stickers so perhaps is original paint.
  22. I have bought the voltage reg the repair the fuel and temp gauges on my 16v clocks. The rest of the clocks (speedo. rev etc) all work fine. As Dox says that reg is just for the fuel and temp parts. I believe i blew the reg when testing the fuel pumps with external power.
  23. Still looking sharp and possibly the only BBS style of alloy I like on a Corrado - top work. What are they? 16s I can see they are staggered/
  24. Keyo - your meets seem to have a no paprazzi rule 🤣
  25. Second opinion for the door membranes. Suprising the amount of water than can get passed them if they are not present or damaged.
