  1. If I hit the jack pot it would be something just like this from Ruf https://www.rufautomobile.co.uk/ruf-btr-porsche-930-turbo For me I'm not an impractical supercar type fan (Lambo, Mclaren etc) and like everyday drive charm of a Porsche and Ruf version would be the icing on the cake as well. For more modest sums I think E30 325i M sport, any 911 pref air cooled, 944 turbo. Maybe something with an agricultural V8 but can't think what - don't like American - Jenson Interceptor maybe?
  2. Ahh learn something new. I've got black leather in my white one (but it was cloth factory) and the same black cloth in my 16v
  3. 16vs are starting to rise - £4k estimate with 166k
  4. I cant see platinum on the options list - here's a pic with the codes too Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  5. The other issue while I am here - sharing as useful to know for others who may need to do this fix - the mk2 panel fits slightly proud at the area highlighted. I think I could knock it in a bit (actually I will leave to a professsional to re-shape)
  6. Hi, Background - my fuel filler panel area was rotten so I had a mk2 panel welded in its place. It worked mostly well except, since buying the black plastic insert I've found the hole is not large enough. I can make the hole bigger with a cutting tool but i am not 100% sure how the black plastic insert fits up against the lock actuator behind the fuel panel. Long shot but has anyone ever taken one of these apart before? I've mocked up on the pic where I think i need to cut... This would be a good time to have my other Corrado around but it's 300 miles away.
  7. Looking good and can't wait to see it in the flesh

    Chip Tuning?

I was just going to suggest Vince myself. I wonder if it is worth contacting him to see if he can do something on your ECU if you sent it to him, perhaps by putting it in a similar spec car and tuning it on the side of caution as I guess where you are you'd have to travel a long way to get the car rolling road tuned assuming you can find someone who can do it on these older cars. 9. Hi Tom, I'm not sure on the mechs but have this job to do on my 16v eventually so will be good to hear. Re the rear quarter windows I took screenshots of a thread on Facebook the other day that might be just what you need: Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah it is a good chance to learn welding although I had hoped to learn on my mk2 rather than the "best" car. I made sure I zinc primed the back side of all metal and did it in sections so I hope my repairs last. I had a mobile chap do the otherside. He was kind enough to spend some time with me and teach me how to weld and get me set up on my machine. It was invaluable hands on experience. Mobile Classics and Customs based in Coventry but will travel for fuel money - Andy - for anyone reading. That said, music blaring, I failed to notice I had no gas on my first attempt and kept blowing holes no matter what tweaks I made to my machine. Next steps are to work out how to upgrade my gas situation to those larger rental bottles. Already been through 3 disposables and at 40 quid for 3 it's not cheap! On the plus side my floor pans are good. It was just the sill area and since I've cut the front section open I was pleased to see it is tidy inside. The car had a blow over repaint before I bought it and it wasn't great around the trims so had it done againt last year. However the first place used filler instead of metal so front bits of sills were not great! The place i had it painted did a nice enough job on the paint but not perfect and you'd have thought with the wings off they might have repaired or suggested repair on the a pillar. Lesson learnt - want a job doing right - do it yourself. Bougbt an air compressor and will be learning painting - saw you painted your wings the other day. I also found a lovely surprise on the drivers inner arch where thr brake line comes through. That is next on the list to with new metal. My rear arches didn't get enough paint on them as part of the respray but fortunately just the lips and ive sanded back to metal. Im epoxy plus paint on those. The chap didn't take the wheels off and couldn't get his gun in he said. Rear two eye area needs wire wheel and treatment. Using bilt hamber gel or hydrate 80 where I dont need to weld. Then I plan to re underseal it - dinitrol or raptor or open to suggestions. The wings are off so doing behind there as well. Then waxoil cavities, refit interior, get sunroof panel trimmed and possibly enjoy the car?! Had a moan to black magic Keiran that I wanted to set fire to it earlier as came in from the garage fuming after finding yet more work on the car I thought was "finished". Touch wood i dont as that wax in the cavities is lethal with a welder. But happier again now. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks pops 🙂 I like to know my way through before i begin. I have 9 jobs to do before she's roadworthy again. Grim. Thought this car was done.
  12. Hi, As I continue my quest to put my car right after leaving it in the hands of "professionals", I need to drop fuel tank. It doesn't necessarily need to come all the way out but just enough to re-route the fuel pipes that are meant to go through the chassis legs rather than crushed between chassis leg and tank.... Some questions... - Do i need to drop the rear axle (I hope not) - Is it just the tank straps and two bolts on the fuel filler neck? anything else? Thanks, Matt

    Sill off cut

Hi, Has anyone got a sill off cut? I need a couple of inches if anyone has anything lying about. Thanks
  14. Ohh thanks, I think am not too far from you - are you Bucks? I am in village near Royston, Hertfordshire - SG8 area
  15. Moody - there are a few options available. I would say it's better to upgrade than try and find a working Corrado roof. My experiences to date - I bought a working corrado mechanism from a chap with the initals BR that was sold as working for £200. It broke on the second use. I wouldn't say it was the sellers fault but it's a 25+ year old bit of kit and certainly not worth £200. Don't do what I did - false economy. I then fitted a mk3 mecahansim with a Passat B4 moonroof. That combo works well - you can get the mech for about £45 (I use Leo GS the mk3 parts breaker on facebook - he is a great bloke and a moderator on a lot of groups). The passat moonroof can be picked up for around £50. I would sell mine if anyone wants it, it needs a new seal though. I wasn't a fan of the moonroof for my car. I prefered the stock tin panel. I got lucky and Chris F supplied me a bag of sunroof bits for a reasonable sum so I've got 3 corrado mechs built (2 x in car). I can't sell any of these though as I have 2 corrado's and need to keep it for spares. This is the best route to go - buy a broken mech and try and source a bag of bits (the bag of bits only cost me £50). I've seen somewhere someone has adapted the mk3 mech to work with the corrado inner panel. This is probably the best solution as the corrado mech is weak vs mk3. Mk3 mech out of the box will not auto slide the inner panel. I haven't looked into this with any detail yet.
  16. I want one of those for my newly built garage too! Will have to let the pennies recover first though.
  17. Looks bloody lovely - do you still have it? Cloth recaros I see (I think) - nice
  18. Nice looking forward to seeing them on the car. Can't beat a good 5 spoke on a Corrado imo.
  19. I would like sebrings on my 16v but don't think they work as well on a late car vs the early car. Plus they have become quite desirable so expensive to pick up these days. I've got a set of Borbet Cs in 15x7 to go in it in due course - lockdown has meant it has been locked away from me 260 miles away. I still have the white one to play with here though!
  20. Ahh nice one Tom 🙂 Footfall is not as high as PH but we can give you quality 😄 The work you did on the supercharger and fitting was interesting - didn't you take it out 3 times so a bit of an expert on it now! Pictures have gone from earlier threads, I now host elsewhere (imgbb) so need to restart by own thread. I do like an early style corrado on sebrings.
  21. Fen - that's a kick in nuts but I'm sure it will work its way out over time too. In the mean time If you'd like me to push packages off from the coast of Wales in your direction let me know 😄
  22. HI Tom! I'm over on PH as well - gutted to see what happened to that G60 you've put years and years of love into. As a side note - get a readers ride post going on this forum - your documented Corrado owneship adventures make great reading (except this last bit about the break in). I'm going to start one again as all my pictures have disappeared.
  23. That's a shame fen. Is there anyway I can help get parts? I don't mind posting them on as a gift but guess you loose the link with the supplier/warranty. But if you're desparate do shout.
  24. Hi, Always good to know who people are using and their experiences. I have historically used Chris Ferry - fantastic service every single time - but now he's shutting up shop after many years of sterling service I've been looking around for other contacts for those hard to find parts. So far I've used Corrado Graveyard - seems a nice bloke but too busy to supply parts. Bought a set of rubber mats from him via eBay in Nov '20 and am still being given the runaround. Intially, on purchase of the ebay listing, he'd lost 2 of the mats and said he'd send them on but I told him to wait until he had the full set. Having chased each month I can see it's unlikely they'll ever to come me. During that time I tried buying a load of smaller parts for the interior but just given the runaround for months. Corrado breaker in Swadlincote - bought a door but wasn't in the best condition when it turned up "no rust" = seams that had lifted considerably from the rust. Who else is out there that's good with sending stuff out? For panels it's definietly best to collect in person.
