Hi bringing this thread back alive guys. Part Number 1H091651Q Will this Bosch fuel pump fit a N reg corrado VR6 as it says it is compatible on the table and four bar. Just been reading a few threads off here and a bit confusing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FELICIA-6U-Fuel-Pump-In-tank-1-3-1-6-94-to-02-Bosch-1H0919651H-1H0919651N/332308337350?epid=1341756560&hash=item4d5f1ed2c6:g:wAwAAOSwEBxZbSRq We are hoping the fuel pump housing and attachments are still ok and just changing the pump. The Bosch pump seems a good price. After my car has had all the work done its driving like a dream but unfortunately after doing all the exhaust and manifold gaskets, mas sensor, catalytic and 02 sensor (which were leaking or on the way out anyway) after deleting fault codes have reappeared on my V Gate displaying 00561 sporadic mixture adaption exceeded limit which has also triggered fault code 00537 sporadic O2 sensor regulation. There is no hesitstion or jultness in the engine what so ever and noticeable air leeks. This leaves us to think injectors which have never been changed or refurbished and there is no history of a new fuel pump. I do plan on going on long trips this year in the Rado so wont begrudge changing these parts. I take it sporadic means intermittent, basically meaning not so serious but on the way out and will get worse? Cheers.

Hi All, Thought I would share the link below as it seems there are no hinges available anywhere and VW Heritage are sold out for a while and they don't look great quality either, the picture they advertise even has a chunk missing off the corner and a pressed pin rather then drop forged . They are priced cheap so you pay for what you get I suppose but been such a bummer of a job you wouldn't want to do it again in a rush. I was going to get the body specialist to put some shims in to raise my door a little as it's got a bit of driver door sag but his a bit of a perfectionist and will only do the job with new hinges and pins. Searched high and low on ebay and VW sources and couldn't find anything, pretty amazing really as they share the same hinges as the MK2 golf, Jetta, polo, and various other models. So in the end I stumbled across this company in France . Half Hinge German Meyle http://www.classic-store.com/product_info.php?products_id=80284 Pin http://www.classic-store.com/product_info.php?products_id=80284 Hoping there good as they look. They accept paypal and shipping is a lot cheaper then German prices.

3m tape is the one but be careful if you purchase off ebay, most of them are fake Chinese copies that people are knocking out.
-
To be fair the materials that they used to manufacture it were great, it was just the engineer that fabricated it did a lousy job a shame.
-
Thanks Jon your not to far away from me. I'am well chuffed. The good news is as well I think I may well have found an old skool body specialist who is skilled and can cut out metal. My neighbour at my works yard is a land rover defender specialist that takes them back to the chassis and rebuilds them and he recommended him for body work. Not getting anyone excited but this guy actually can make body panels in his lock up a bloody legend ha. I'll keep everyone updated on his work and the conclusion . He is based in Nuneaton and well known in the classic Jaguar community and a fair price.

Ive got one only £798.00 ha , only joking better off getting one second hand then the BM , although it really is down to the engineer making the part in the BM factory I must of had the lazy rotter make mine.
-
Not long had a BM down pipe, had to send it back, it was 15 degrees out at the plate and also had awful rough welding basically a piece of junk. Not sure If you can get another aftermarket down pipe I looked hard, have you considered some headers you can get some from Germany for half the price of a new down pipe from VW Classics. The best decision would be to go for the original new but very expensive, You might also find that you have a couple of faults codes because of the air leak, air mixture adaption and the Lambada sensor. On the other hand I got a aftermarket EEC Cat which was exceptionally well made. Might be worth calling EEC and see if they make a downpipe. ( EEC British company)

It is great it's like driving a modern car knowing that it will just have a thing or two that come up needing to get replaced and of course reliability for long journeys. I went for the resonated just in case the none res had a horrible drone at certain speeds when cruising.

I always try to go for good quality in sensors apart from the MAS sensor which is an absolute rip for the Corrado, for a Bosch MAS on a R129 brand new is £110 (74K car new) compared to £180 for a Bosch one on a Corrado (24K car new)

Sounds very good, my chains have been done last year by the previous owner but the only history of a head gasket that I have with the car receipts was back in 2006, I think the engine block could be the only big thing that could could bite me on the arse one day. Have you done the transmission oil, that was a huge difference on my notchy gear changes I used Castrol Syntrans Transaxle 75W-90 Manual Transmission Fluid - 2 Litre Yes the exhaust is well nice , for a catback for £500 that is not bad really as some other motors your looking at at 1K, you could always go for a jetex which is a bit cheaper. One thing I have noticed with the Milltek is the tail pipe has gone that gold colour within a week which has surprised me. I know in the states techtroincs have incorporated some Borla parts in theirs , I so highly rate Borla exhausts above and beyond Milltek. They use the highest quality 304 grade stainless steel. Not sure if these fit right hookers but VW Heritage should bloody get a batch over if they do ! http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_138_139_301

Nice car Mike thanks for sharing. What additional extras did the SE come with, also was there any other versions of the Rallye. Did they ever make a right hooker on special request. Cheers.

Right a bit of experimental . The rear H and R springs (green) taken off that were low 2 finger gap and the new rear Eibach springs(black) that came with the set that did not get fitted. They look a fair bit shorter so I think that proves the theory that they have been manufactured to short unless the H and R have streched ??? Any advice members Cheers.

Thanks Harrier much appreciated. I loved the MK2 Golf 16V in black as well it was a really popular colour back in the late eighties and noughties.
-
Thanks P. He just fitted the extra springs that Eibach sent out, he did'nt attempt to fit the orginal rear springs as just thought I must of got the extra springs for some reason. My car does sit higher at the back by a finger and a half from tyre to centre of internal wheel arch. Looks correct I reckon. Have you got a difference in height. Before on my H and R springs it was a two finger gap all the way round but to harsh for me but had a great stance. Will prob take another week or so to truely settle. I imagine the front settles quicker because of the weight of the engine.

I use to do the scaffolding in the Midlands back in the 90s for when a car had driven over a bridge or the wall had been damaged and had to build a beam bridge scaffold over the track and tie everything down, you want to feel the force of a train coming under the scaffolding once scaffolding was completed and track open again. Most of the work were nights hell of a job.

Thank You Dox. Yes great thanks they are still the original specification callipers but i hunted the best I could find which were Brembo discs from Euro car parts and Brembo pads from GSF car parts on the 60 % special, think all in for discs and pads on all corners cost under £150.00 , pretty damn good for Brembo. One of the best bargains was the EEC Cat made in the UK. Vince and I could'nt believe the quality of it and only in the £60s. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fits-VW-Corrado-53I-2-9-VR6-Genuine-EEC-Catalytic-Converter-Fitting-Kit/302431565696?fits=Car+Make%3AVW%7CModel%3ACorrado%7CCars+Type%3A2.9+VR6%7CPlat_Gen%3A53I&hash=item466a537780:g:y1EAAOSw0HFZpOin Anyone do not waste your money on this piece of junk downpipe exhaust, had to send it back was 15 degrees out and poor welding, thankfully my original downpipe has got some life left in her. But goodluck getting a new downpipe from any where might have to opt for headers from Germany if a good one doesnt come on the market. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-Front-Pipe-BM-Catalysts-BM70181/152935487592?hash=item239baa5868:g:JDwAAOSwxfdaoBNV Also the alum key bolt set that VW International advertise for the VR6 Corrado sump are to long and luckily my mechanic noticed this and could of threaded the housing for the sump which would of been a nighmare Ive got to send them back !

For those considering changing their temp/oil sensors/senders the picture below might sway you into decision, parts removed from my car. The far right is the only one that has been changed since leaving the factory.

Thanks fla it does drive like a new car really enjoying it. It has had a remap but this was done when the Shrick was fitted in 2003 so not to clued up on the specification/data sheet. However I did track down the owner of the car when it got re mapped from a old receipt and I asked him what are the figures and he said 210 - 220BHP but I cannot clarify this without putting it on a rolling road . I think you have to remap your ECU with a Shrick because it may lead to pinking if left as stock. I didnt even know what a Shrick was it just so happens the car I purchased had it fitted so a bit of a bonus really .
