How have you secured your sub box/amps down
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Yeha I saw those but I didnt like this part 'Straps can be screwed, riveted or bolted to vehicle' -
I fitted a mocal on my VR along with a new rad and other cooling parts. I am seeing 116 degrees when I am caning it and it stays at about 100 degrees when stationary. I would think this is too high. Do you guys agree?

Some people have more money than sense...
Son of a Beesting replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
Clearly a couple of impeccable taste :| At least the R32 redeems them a little! It would have done if she actually knew what she was buying!! I bet it doesnt get any love from them when she does pick it up. They dont sound like car 'enthusiasts' -
Hello I am hoping to do a basic build this weekend. Just wondering how people have secured their amps/subs down? I dont want to drill holes in the car really to screw it down and I dont think velcro is enough in an accident. Any other ideas/photos would be great. Thanks

Are all spoiler activation switches the same?
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Interior
Cool, so they are all ok to use then thanks. And a great piece of VW trivia! -
Hi I just put a post up about my spoiler activation switch which appears to be mullered. It will make the spoiler go up but not down. Does anyone know if the switches are the same for early and late interiors? I have heard that they are different and I have heard that they are the same! So which one is it? Thanks

Glad its sorted

I was just about to start this job. One question though, why do you remove the whole unit? Cant you just take the little metal tab with all the electrical gubbins on it off? This way would seem easier?
-
Sounds like your battery maybe almost totally flat (read dead) and your imoboiliser is kicking in. Try with a new battery maybe?

I get mine back from MOT man today after almost 3 months of rebuilding/replacing. TO say im excited is an understatement!

When I got my aircon regassesed on my last car they told me what was wrong with it and how much it would cost to get it fixed. I would try and save it!
-
Nope he is not on it.

Well the car is in the garage having the bushes fitted so I cant comment on them, but they are supposed to reduce a lot of the excess that oe bushes have. I have never found them to make the handling worse (quite the opposite) I find the ride on my car much nicer over rought roads than the koni coilovers I had on the g60. But I havent really driven the VR6 enough yet to give a fair comparison. But I am happy so far.

To be honest i have had powerflex on cars before and I never had any of those problems. I have never had a car with new OE bushes in but powerflex bushes are easier to work with (whether thats a good or bad thing). I am not worried about the bushes at all, new powerflex are better than old oe!

What level of modified are you after? Engine swaps/bodykits etc? My car doesnt count but I am sure there is more than enough interesting cars here for you to feature!
-
I just put powerlex bushes in my car.........

The way I saw it, VW must have put some work into the correct placement of the tweeters, I think putting them in standard positions must be good enough.
-
I just cut out the standard tweeter holders and put them in that

I am looking for a chest to go in my new garage and I was looking at these, glad you like them. I presume they are big enough to carry most tools. What about electrical tools?
-
I had a milltek on my G60 and a Magnex on my VR6. There both great, personally I think you cant go wrong with either!

I would say the one I posted would be better than the ebay one
