Old top mount works a treat but never understood why jacks don't come with a nice block of rubber?
-
Corrado's cruise uses a vac based system as it's not drive by wire - all the parts are on ETKA and doesn't look too hard to retrofit providing you can get all the bits, I know Yan was looking at this for his G60
-
Yeah Halfords stuff is good quality, cheap and the jacks go nice and low!
-
Yeah, I'd expect them to keep it instock - common to the MK3 etc
-
It's the same as the 2.0 8v but not the 16V as these use the high pressure banjo fittings... I'd buy VAG, cheap enough
-
Should be a straight swap - the one above does not look like a Bosch one...
-
Good pics mate, your right about coilovers but those G60 mounts seem to fair better that the VR6 type - I went thru a genuine pair of those in a year and the bearings just fell apart... it a combination or low, stiff suspension and our crap roads
-
Check the badges first, you wouldn't believe how much water can get in if one of the clips or grommets is missing!
-
Did you actually buy the proper stuff from Halfords with the mesh etc? I've used this before and it's worked perfectly but it might be a bit cold for sticking stuff on at the moment...

Live mapping using a Wideband and Rolling Road is the way to go

up-rated fuel regulator g60 and progress so far
Supercharged replied to corrado_sunderland's topic in Engine Bay
Ah, didn't realise it was turbocharged - in that case there is a good guide to injector choices in this months (or maybe lasts months now) PPC -
It sort of moves away from the pillar (I think) but old brittle plastic makes it an arse... depends if you have a new one really...
-
Have you removed the screw??

Thats won't work, a fixed 3.5 barr bosch from a early 911 is less than that from Porsche and a direct swap, thats what we all used before the SNS v5 software. If your lacking in fuel pressure for the map then either you have the wrong injectors, too smaller pulley or a failing pump etc -
Coolant Gauge not working after replacing switch
Supercharged replied to thetino's topic in Interior
It's worth a try - they should be insured for this sort of thing... I had GSF pay twice for a local garage to fit a petrol tank to a polo, the part they supplied (3 times in the end) was correct but the neck was in slightly the wrong place on the first 2 meaning you couldn't fill it up - lol -

Have you tried the old one back in it tho?? If that doesn't work then it'll be the part the Euro sold - I'd be speaking to them and getting them to pay for your car to go to VW for repair! -

Check the sender with a meter first - on resistance... -
100 doesn't sound right - whats the VW part number? The ECU (power) relay is 3rd from the left in the top row
-
Yip, MK4 ones is less than a tenner from VW, cap is another fiver plus you will need a new plug for the round level sensor...
-
Hammerite has rust protection built in y0. ^It doesn't! Hammerite is rubbish, far better products out there... it's also oil based so not really good for anything around an engine bay All Hammershite say is that you can paint directly onto rust, and when you do it lasts about a year max!
-
Yeah is that the one we saw at G-werks Yan with the gold plated hardware? That looked awesome and the finish looked fairly durable...
-
I reckon a trip to Stealth is the way to go - tell Vince what the problems are you've been having, whats been changed and what still needs doing - then get him to check everything before setting up on the machine... Expensive but should be job done after that!
-
I was told that was for fully aluminium engines at first but TPS seems to indicate it's a replacement for G12+
-
Hmm - that looks pretty bad but i'm not sure really... Have the bushes been done?
-
Yep, I'd always change plugs on a VR every year and just use cheapies - the Bosch's are £2 each Always wondered why VW didn't use the 16V / 20V type connectors on the VR which would keep moisture out and instead opted for that stupid tool to be used...
