Yeah, bolt grippr don't touch them, I tried other suggested methods like hacksaw and chissels but drilling is easiest (with a decent metal drill bit)
-
Need to drill out the sheer-bolts really...

£40 !!! I assume that was eBay... £4 from VW but doubtful you can still get them...
-
You need to prime by hand without the belt as they can't be run dry! Then start engine with res cap off and turn steering from lock to lock a few times, go for a drive and do the same thing in a car park if still noisey... I've done a few Corrado's not with the above method but sometimes it takes a few days driving for the air to work it's way out and become silent again...

It depends where its leaking from mate - there are a lot of possibilities - hoses, water pump, plastic coolant flanges onto the cylinder head?
-
If it's dropping then yes it's leaking - have a look for white deposits around the engine bay...

The Early / Late question... now with added Golf...

Neither Golf seats will fit a Corrado - Corrado front seats will go straight into a mk2 however... -
No - you replace the black silencer with it, you should have an outlet, a silicon reducer and a joining tube with 2 jubilee clips.

Hello - has any one got a pic of the VAC pipe as fitted to the ABV engine? Ideally I want to know where on the servo it connects, where on the engine and if it has the valve with connections for vac pipes and how many?
-
Just for info the splash gaurds are on the page with the carriers / calipers... they are about £8 each I think MK4 ones bend the other way to MK2 so may work with the 280's - about half the price too!
-
You can also get the cable and ends from VAG if you want to make your own...

Cheers Steve - I need 2 ltrs for the TDI but is there any chance you have 1/2 ltr of the edition one burgundy kicking around so I can just get the front end done for now? -
It is on ETKA, not too expensive either... I would renew the stub axle bolts tho too... Those 8mm allen carrier bolts need to be 65Nm

The way the rear seat back rests hook into the chassis changes as well but you can swap the bits over from the old seats to accomplish this -
So I assume your going to convert to LHD to get round this? :)

What car do you have Engine mounts?

Removing smashed and seized rear bearing - Garage Wont admit
Supercharged replied to yeti's topic in Drivetrain
That won't have caused the failure tho, loads of people drive round without them altho i'd rather have them fitted as VW don't put them on for fun! -

In the second pic it's that rusty thing that covers the stub axle bolts - new ones cost feck all... -

Jesus - what did they fit!!! - I don't recognise that blue plastic ring at all? - what did they do, torque upto 400Nm with a windy gun! That bit that clips on and cover the bolts by the way should have been changed (VW always recommend it when buying wheel bearings) if it's that rusty as it could contaminate the bearing, saying that, the stub axle bolts should have really been done too and it looks like the splash shield is non-existent - these bits are fairly important really as rusty flakes dropping off can get onto the sensor and cause an ABS fault. You'll want new stub axle's mate - I don't think they will be serviceable after that sort of bearing failure - maybe from a MK3 breaker or ideally new... I would grind / dremel the rings at the back to get them off so you can see the bolts - use a 6 sided socket or Irwin Bolt Grippers to remove Buy new bolts and sheilds (and bearings!!) from VW -
Any garage bill on a Corrado that comes in at less than £500 is good

Try running it with the valve unplugged.
