Any news on this Alex?
-
Yeah thats the only way to get it out on a G60... Is your's alot better now? I thought mine was fooked so I changed it (brand new genuine) but i'm still getting too much engine movement imo - starting to think the VT front mount is knackered but it's only done 12k miles!
-
Don't use pattern parts on yer engine mate  Should be (no more than) 90 degrees at mid point along the longest belt run
-
Change the ignition switch, ECU and fuel pump relays as a matter of course if they have not been done recently...
-
1. You need to swap the yellow and red wires over (perm and ignition live) - see the instructions for the stereo for details 2. You need to disconnect and insulate the blue/white 'speed' wire (do not earth it)
-
Yeah in Jims case it's the column (has to be) and i'm fairly sure this is caused by high mileage and not helped by the previous owner having ridiculously wide wheels on it. Nice one tho Matt - should feel fantastic now and at least you've not got to worry about any other drivetrain bits wearing out, hopefully sorted your ABS issues too?
-
...and rears are just as important as fronts for steering 'feel'

In the fusebox - bottom right

Look at the fuel pump relay first...

g60..how does the charger return fit to block?

Banjo bolt with 3 washer type seals - not very clear on ETKA Worth buying a few new washers from VAG mate - some are steel and some are copper -
Just ordered one of these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... =p3907.m29 £299 for late system for cars with bar type hangers... Basically the people who make Magnex are going into administration so you don't get a warranty with them but I'm not too fussed as the steel used to make Magnex's is far supperior to the likes of Milltek, powerflow etc - I've seen 10 year old systems on Corrado's with no rust whatsoever! They have one left in stock as of this afternoon!
-
They've always been a bit like that - just keep trying...
-
I don't think thats a VR alt mate, they were Bosch not Valeo
-
Haha - love it!

vwspares.co.uk should do these or just go to VW 1 hours labour max
-
Ok - are you using an advance light at 6 degrees and also using the 6 degree mark on the flywheel?? If so you are setting it to either 0 or 12 degrees BTDC! Also check the intercam timing if there is any reason to suspect it's out and that the chain is not slack, then check the crank bolt and keyway!

No, CP = coilpack, AG = Imobiliser I think so not compatible.
-
It will never be a 'good' charger, why bother?
-
Sure there is a kit for a 16v - just look on etka under 'repair kits'
-
Mic, i'd try and drive it round a bit if you can, as I said on the phone it will feel a bit strange if you have changed pads and discs all round at the same time...
-
vr not starting on the turn of the key (takes awhile)

CAM sensor No, the ECU requires a signal from the CRANKsensor before activating the FP relay tho... -
I think thats becuase you bought the repair kit rather than parts seperatly... Other thing is the rear carrier bolts from MK3 are 1mm longer, still fit fine and are always instock at 45p each as opposed to £2 for the Corrado ones!

G60 - Fuse #21 - keeps blowing, permanent live problem!
Supercharged replied to Fozzi's topic in Engine Bay
dead short - take all the bulbs out first to inpect and then try another fuse.
