Thats one of the straps - should be 3... Early ones are same as a mk3 Golf which is handy - about £13 each (later ones no longer available but it may be something they start to produce again)
-
Yeah i'd get a Aque Blue one then if you want it to match... VW is the place to go to get an exact match but Halfords do them for £2 - just depends on how good the person is mixing...

Halfords Brilliance bulbs are the ones to go for and they do them BOGOFF from time to time... The loom basically shortens the circuit to the lights making it more efficient so it provides the full 12V to the bulbs - as the cars get older the original loom oxidises and you end up getting about 10v (and this goes up to the light switch and back), with the full 12V you will get a 'whiter' light. How are your lenses?? if the are pitted from stonechips then the light will struggle to project thru, new ones are cheap from VW but only now available for the later cars...

Yeah - I heard pella are the ones to go for - Machine Mart or Screwfix sell them and they do a 6ltr one... Kev - I just got a nice big compressor so was looking at the ones you connect to that but they are still over £50... might just go for a pella for portability...

Skinniman - he already owns one!! Fanjita - cheers for letting us know and glad you found what sounds like a good one!
-
Hmmm - don't know anything about VW changing the FUCHS and my mate at Audi can only order Synta The other place to get Synta is AVS http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_filters.php

Belt change does seem cheap considering parts are over £50!
-
Boost return - Thats ok I think but most people leave it open completly to get a dump-valve like noise... The pipe from the engine cover - most people leave these either venting to atmosphere or run the pipe to an oil catch tank but I think what you have done is ok as it will lubricate the charger... 1.4 Bar is very good, over 20 PSI infact, I see you have a Golf front mounted intercooler, it may be correct - where are you reading the pressure from??
-
Yeah - I heards Hella we're good... similar to Bosch - good reliable OE make... Toad - have you got a Halfords trade card??
-
Yeah - it's about 11.5 inches! Fits the clamp fine but the only problem is one of the terminals goes under the wing slightly...

mk2 Golf Steering wheel compatible with a late Corrado???
Supercharged replied to vr6storm's topic in Interior
Late MK2's also used the adapter so will be a straight fit... -
Yalan - yeah thats what i'm running in the TDI - bit of a squeeze!! The 64Ah from VW is about the same price with discount (£45+vat) and is spec'd for a MK2 Diesel
-
They don't sell it Toadie... Stuart - just go into VW and ask for a price for a box of 4 Synta Silver, I'm sure they will do a good price if they think your trade - should be less than £40 inc vat

I'd recommend Halfords Calcium (4 year warranty) or a Varta or Exide from VAG As Mat says get the biggest that will fit!

Supercharged replied to dirtytorque's topic in Engine Bay
Oh yeah deffo take the disk off, much more access... 2x17mm for the carrier bolts and hook the caliper out the way, then just one screw for the disc -
Can't get the ABS front wheel speed sensor out !?
Supercharged replied to dirtytorque's topic in Engine Bay
One bolt yep, Soak it in Plus Gas and try and drive it out... You may have to use heat... -
Halfords will order it, GSF sell it...
-
You shouldn't need any sealant, if it gets into the sytem it could jam the stat - just make sure the mating face is clean and that you use a new (VAG) O ring... The housing may be warped if not cracked, they do this because of heat over time, especially on the G60 and VR engines as they run hotter, I would advise always changing the plastic flanges for new when working on the cooling system.
-
Yup - All C engines use Hydraulic lifters and these are fairly easy to change when the cams are out... Dr Shrick advice new spings and tappets when fitting there cams but it is ok to fit just the cams...
-
Good man - sure it will be fine! I picked up a brand new Master and Slave at BVF today for £40!! :)
-
The lock housing is not much from VW - £30 ish depending on fixed or adjustable collumn, not sure about the barrel but I think you should be able to order a new one (but maybe not by key code) or just swap your original one over by drilling the lock housing (Bentley manual shows where to drill)

Pump works out at nearly £150 i'm afraid as you need a new sender unit with it... (because your replacing a pierburg pump with VDO) It's worth doing tho as it's one part that you know won't last forever and if it goes it will either melt your engine or, if your lucky just make you break break down :D
-
Could be the pump if original (worth changing anyway really) or the filter?? Don't rule out the ignition stuff, I have had no end of problems with crap quality leads, worth taking the plugs out and seeing if one cly looks different to the rest... Wet weather probably not helping either which also point to an electrical issue
-
Yeah - thats why I don't want to adjust the ones on the TDI as they look far worse than that!

Supercharged replied to Jon_vr6's topic in General Car Chat
I'm not sure what your meant to do with it but fairly sure it should be there as it's needed vy the engine management...
