-
I've just done the G60 ones - what engine is it?
-
Someone on eBay was selling a new one for £50 - VW charge £90 exchange
-
Have a search on here mate - fuses are listed in the instruction manual also...
-
Toad, Sir Digby Chicken Ceasar... superb

Yeah, windage tray replaces the gasket, get it from GSF - £22 ish http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... _4_Cyls%29
-
Yeah sorry - the door handle just slides to the side to come off the plastic (don't drop it into the door!) Yeah - feel free to do a guide to swapping the hatch with photo's for the knowledge base!
-
Eh? - engine parts are common to Golfs and almost everything is still available at the dealers... What engine is it? - If it;s straight pipe then silicon is the stuff to use but otherwise just get the correct pipe from VW, you won't see any performance difference between the two...
-
There is a thread with other common places to check - notably the water pumps and the rad itself... look for white powdery deposits... Can't find anything then it could be either the Headgasket or the Matrix...
-
Cheers Ian, just confirmed what I thought!
-
Ah nice one - can you send me a couple of bolts please...?
-
Dave_P, you've not put what engine it is but I assume it's a G60?? Either use a new VAG gasket (metal and rubber) none of this compressed cork and rubber rubbish or (as above) use the windage tray from a mk3 TD... (to fit this you will need to remove the plastic guide around the oil pump) - see the KB guide! No gasket sealent needed but lightly grease with engine oil and just tighten each bolt by hand with a screwdriver type socket holder (no extra torque) - same as I always do plastic coolant flanges and never had any probs with leaks...

VR6?
-
Welcome to the forum! You can buy the cable guides seperatly but you may be better off buying a whole mech of a car thats breaking...
-
Door handles - just one machine screw inside the door, watch it as one of them maybe reverse threaded. Pull forward carefully and you should be able to unplug the central locking wiring (if it doesn't break off at the handle end!) Boot - you really need to pull them all thru unfortunatly... if you do chop and connectr them back up make sure you use waterproof heatshrink to prevent problems further down the line.
-
g60bv, when you say front hubs do you just mean the hub itself that slots into the VR6 CV or did you use the VR6 bearing carrier too (part the track rod and lower ball joint connect to which houses the wheel bearing)??
-
It's a syncromesh issue but fluid refresh may help...

Looking for Registration Number 911 DPW
Supercharged replied to dwhatley's topic in General Car Chat
The DVLA and HPI checks will only tell you the above, they cannot tell you any more due to the DPA hence the post and request for info... -
Hmmm - Alot of people advertise on eBay instead of the autotrader not becuase of all these scam phone calls you get... My mate had a really nice tidy mk3 GTi 16v for sale on there and the only calls he got were 'pay us £75 and we'll put you in touch with people looking for this exact car' - fark offf!

Remove the air filter Andy...

Strange noise after timing chain has been replaced
Supercharged replied to VEEDUBHEV's topic in Engine Bay
Yeah - could be the belt put back the wrong way if they re-used it... worth changing the bearing tho before it melts the tensioner (£10 instead of £70) -
Welcome to the forum... What engine is it? Depending on where it is it may be drawing in unmetered air which will cause the idle to be lumpy... VW breather hoses are usually just standard rubber which altho isn't the best material to use, it's cheap and usually lasts 10 years before the rubber breaks down due to oil.

g-man, are they just a straight swap?
-
I reckon those wheels could have worn them yes and non genuine ones don't last at all on Corrado's, new VW ones are about £12 a peice and Vince usually has them in stock - I'd let him have a go at it first with a bar and see if he finds any play...
-
I trial fitted a mates Golf one the other day - fits really well but will need trimming slightly, looks really OE and has space for the VIN, can't find any good ones in scrap yards so buying new (£16) - I'll fit next week and put some pics up.
