It will be noisey!!

Yep as above, pull the hose off the pump and drain, lock to lock the steering manually a few times to expell as much fluid as pos and then fill up slowly to reduce air getting in... you will probably get about half a ltr in and then have to top up after starting the engine. Yes only use the VW stuff, G 002 now supercedes to G 004 which is only £5 and you only need a bottle.

Change the thermoswitch, the first stage isn't working.

To be honest mate I'd get RK to do it as there is no real stripping down to do to get to it... one hours labour... It's an easy job but there are certain things that need to be considered and if you were to get it wrong could cost alot to rectify! I'd also consider changing the tappets, cam cover gasket and maybe cambelt too.

I hung mine from the slam panel just in front of the charger... Have you got a RSR outlet and are you running the OE heat exchanger?
-
Nah you'll be ok as long as it's seated well and the bolts are correctly torque'd... Just fill her up and run up to temp on the drive and check for leaks...

You VAGCOM'd it yet?
-
Yep mini K&N on the ISV and just a length of heater hose on the cam cover breather to atmosphere (rest the pipe on top of the gearbox)

Yeah - you need to do it by GPS - most old cars overread by a percentage but newer cars seem to do it by about 3-5mph across the range... you need to test yours at various speeds and decide what to do... Yep, you have the corrado clocks but the drivetrain and rolling radius are still completly different to a mk4 so you may need to adjust it...
-
Yep - thats scrap metal i'm afraid - still not bad for 130k miles!!!!
-
My guide wasn't much use then...
-
Hi Stan, on my TDi there is a metal box with an adjustment screw that was set up using GPS to set the mk4 clocks up for the mk2 drivetrain etc... I don't know much apart from that but I think i have the name of it written down somewhere...

Yeah - VW is the best place if they still do it (I bought Aqua Blue 2 or 3 years ago) or a proper paint place or body shop (ie not Halfords altho there £2 touch up pens are ok) -
It's in the instruction manual... Fuse 12 is main beam right only The electric window fuse is in a seperate holder and should be a 20A according to my info...

Gazman has a ported OBD2 TB for sale I think...

Welcome to the forum, have a look in the knowledge base for the timing chains guide... There is also a good write up on changing the water pump in the latest Sprinter (the magazine of the CCGB) -
I think this could be the air pipe to that door - check it isn't creased / split or just crimped where it goes thru to the door in the rubber tube (I had a similar issue in a Golf where the pipe seemed to get twisted)
-
The Neuspeed bar uses rose joints to not sure if you actually have to undo those bottom strut bolts or not...
-
Yeah - sounds like a failing MAF (especially if it's an early car) but need to get VAGCOM on it to be sure... Could also be the BCV (N75)
-
Take it off and have a look - the plug is blank (ie not used on UK cars)
