LOL - you'll learn...
-
I think they are only about £30 exchange from the dealer...
-
The other ones is just where the plug fixes on...
-
lenses - can you clearly see the bulb filament thru them? - they should feel smooth, if they feel rough and look pitted with stone chips etc then it will be harder for the light to travel thru them... new lenses are about £20 a side...
-
G40 is faster than mk2 GTi's... so will also be quicker than most standard corrado 16v's... A Corrado G60 would be an upgrade...
-
I'm running the loom, new lenses and 55w Silverstar bulbs and the light is as good as most new cars and much better than my mums MK3 with the same bulbs! How pitted are your lenses and what condition are the reflectors? Not sure how good the halfords own brand bulbs are... I'd advise against using bulbs over 55W as the heat they produce will knacker the reflectors.

The flywheel instection hole?? - used for timing... There should be a rubber bung there - couple of quid from the dealer...
-
What! - you want to be looking for a leak then!!!
-
Either the engine is breathing heavily or there is a blocked pipe...
-
Kept that one quiet Nick...

Yeah, at least with halfords you can usually trust the quality... my Dad did have problems with an expensive digital one he bought out of a Bike mag tho... looks fairly well made with black plastic case and blue bunnon on front but we found it to be leaking around the contact seal and giving very inacurate readings...

The belt part numbers are in the instruction manual and also in the parts club document in the suppliers section of this site... -
The OE Knobs are £15 from GPC, I got a mk1 Leather gaitor at a show and just ripped the old one off and screwed the new one into the plastic bit from the old one, perfect!
-
The procedure is also in the instruction manual  Also worth taking a trip to B&Q and buying some Zinc plated Self Tappers to replace the factory ones (they will be rusty) The ones you want are 5mm x 16mm No (10's) Pan/Cross head - red bag...
-
They will fit but won't look quite right as the lenses are smaller
-
Early and late I think - some 2.0 8v's came with non adjustment (eco spec) 5 Columns in total but all 535 parts...
-
can renew online now btw - I hate queuing in post offices - too many chavs and smelly old people!
-
I normally use the autoexpress reviews on the web site for this sorta thing - they do quite good tests and i've always been impressed with products recommended by them...

Was it a 12V one - sounds like it flashed as it blew! -
Sounds like you need to replace the O ring...
-
Afraid not, My TDI (early G60) still has the G60 system fitted and altho it looks ok from the outside, I've had endless problems with it touching the rear axle and going thru rubbers, when I was at Stealth last month Vince showed me why the fit was so poor and how much stress is being put on the downpipe... bassically the middle box sits too low down and the fitters put a bit of rubber pipe around the axle to dampen the vibration (lol) as they couldn't fix the poor factory fitment...

Jim's working on it... give the boy a chance!
