  3. They are different between MK3 and MK4 Any decent motor factor should be able to match the bolts
  4. I suppose we should remember that the fee was always £15 but we reduced it to £10 when membership numbers started to drop to attract new members. Whilst most of the long term members would probably happily go back to paying £15, many people that have joined recently will find it quite a hike as above. Whilst we're still in a recession and the bank balance is still high (and has been for the last 5 or so years) then I think it should be left as is for now.
  5. Wasn't there some one off spending in the last year like membership cards etc? That might explain the loss but with £6k still on the balance sheet there is no way IMO you can justify a 50% rise in fees unless members are getting more for it. There are fewer of these cars on the road now, last thing you want to do is discourage potential new members.

  9. You're right Jim, I think they maybe fail more than other switches because of the increased current going through them.
  10. Mirror heaters should be on the same circuit - these working?
  11. I try and avoid GSF at all costs now - so many poor quality and incorrect parts it's not worth the hassle! These guys usually do decent quality bits for things like this or go to VW http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1924 Part should be alloy, not painted - make sure you avoid the silver painted sh1te that you see on eBay!
  12. They're not too bad from VW - rubbers are often captive so best to buy new!
  13. You will need to disconnect the battery and run through the basic settings procedure anyway afte rreplacing the TPS so this will in turn clear any DTC's
  14. Kip - I doubt a HG failure or cracked head would allow water to 'spray' out and still get you home... I'd have a look at the plastic flange on the side of the head - did it overheat?

  16. Most likely you have a blown / incorrect or badly fitted bulb...
  17. What does VAGCOM say?? I'd look at the lambda and it's wiring around the rear engine mount - maybe unplug this and see if it runs better when warm. Usually this sensor becomes key on a warm engine (closed loop) but i'm no 16v / K-Jet expert.
  18. Errr yeah that would be an MOT failure and fairly dangerous braking into corners! Don't drive it till fixed!

  20. VW may still do this as a seperate part and if so it's peanuts... could also try a mk4 Golf one maybe?
  21. The black ones were replaced by VW with blue - upgraded and more reliable part. This should have been changed years ago but obviously there are a few cars about running them.
