  1. i think the light only measures the level not the temp its self? - I'd just by a new expansion tank (and cap)
  2. Hmmm... I take it the starter motor must be connected back ok if it turns :?:
  3. You can either connect them together using 2 90 degree copper joints (bit of plumbing needed) and 2 hose clips or you can get the pipes of a mk1 which don't have the extra bit on them - darren keeps these in stock i think....
  4. If its original, you'll need to cut the old clips off so make sure you have a couple of new Jubilee's to go with the new one...
  5. Sounds about right for the TA's
  6. Thats what I did with my Kamei, not as bad as it sounds...
  7. Yep, I just hacksaw the nut off my oil filters but should have the RSR outlet soon so next time I'll be fitting that and getting rid of the OE cooler all together.... Just hacksaw the nut part itself if you need to, only takes a few mins, don't saw where the spot welds are as you'll end up with a lot of holes!! Re the filters... I thought all VW (or MANN) filers had the non return valve, I thought the difference with the G60 one was a smaller mesh to protect the charger from debris as it has an oil feed! VW specifically produce a filter specially for the G60 so I'd use it! its only a couple of quid more than a standard one
  8. Yeah, check Timing then check the throttle is opening fully!

    Same old!!

Doesn't open in IE for me either (the pkug-in is there) but if you right click and 'save as' then open it it seems to be fine.
  10. I think halfords sell a pair of almost direct replacements, you will have to cut the OE plugs off tho...

    Door Pins

Awesome GTi do some Golf ball ones now... Same fitting as most VW's of that age, Mk2 golf etc...

    door wiring

They don't! - different number of pins... I think they can be 'modified' to work tho... (cuting the plugs an using spade connectors)
  13. Yes, its worth cutting away the sealer so yo can get a socket onto it completly rather than risk rounding it!
  14. Just screws and 8mm (I think) bolt type things.... its a good sign if they are all there!

    Ride height

Thought I was still veiwing the forum through the porn link then
  16. I think Corrado doors have to come off to fit the wings... Yep, should just all unbolt, apart from the ones under the bonnet there will be some within the arch and probably a hidden one underneath which bolts to the sill, it will need a bit of persuation to get off as the factory sealent is quite strong, Halfords sell something similar to use... (the above comes from my experience of changing a Polo coupe front wing...an ETKA diag will help to locate bolts etc...)
  17. Out of interest... Did Vince build the box?, how much did it cost??
  18. Why do you want the front and rear ride height to be different?
  19. Hmmm... looks like your part numbers are a completly different format to ours....
  20. Yep, Koni TA's and H&R springs will give you around a 30mm drop from standard.
  21. You could also try asking your local VAG dealer as they should know the answer to those sort of questions
  22. The late VRs and 2.0 !6v's were somewhat higher than the earlier cars....
  23. Hmmm... they should read around 90 when warmed up as thats the half way point on the gauge, and go up a bit in traffic but should always be around the 90 mark if everything is working correctly, may just be the sensors getting old but I would check the thermostat, and also check the fan isn't running constantly...
