The black screw on filters (most Golfs/G60) are made by MHO and the cartridge type ones (VR6) are Hengst. The ones from GSF seem to be Mann etc...

Tsh... and he calls himself a doctor...

??? - it wasn't there a few minutes ago - wtf is going on!!! Mods - can someone delete all my irrelevent posts....
-
Could there be a disturbance in the Force?
-
Yup and the 16V's use the standard £3 ones too
-
Same on the G60 then... 8)

Never noticed to be honest, I will have a look... BTW - The test Kev mentioned was in the G60 (with standard wheels / tyres - 195's) and it seemed to get even more accurate as the speed went higher... I touched 120mph on the speedo and the GPS reported the top speed as 118mph We'll have to do a similar test on the VR soon (i'm also interested to see what the Shrick does!! )

Basically the solenion on the starter motor moves a pinion onto the flywheel and turns in in order to start the car... Teeth could wear or break due to corrosion but doubtful, it will just be the motor mate, mine was replaced at 70k.. They are rebuildable but often the cost of this is not far off a new one.
-
Yup, you need to change the resistors in the control module or you could even make it variable! http://www.oichan.org/mods/spoiler/spoiler.htm
-
Yeah, sounds like the solenoid in the motor is sticking, there is one in the for sale section i think.... There is also the posibility you may have lost some teeth off the flywheel but unlikely i think :?
-
Will it actually stop the engine from going over 90mph tho?
-
The only thing I heard was that it killed the OE oil coolers on the VR's but I don't know how someone can really prove that... I assume the Silver Syntha we use is just unbranded Castrol GTX without the 'magnatec'
-
Bought one at Stanford Hall yesterday after hearing good things about them and i'm pleased to say it works a treat getting rinse water off the car even on a curvy car like the Corrado! Highly recommended  Also got an Aqua Dry synthetic chamios which also seems very effective, always prefered to use a proper chamios in the past but they never seem to last that long.
-
Should be fine, most of us use the Quantum (Castrol) Silver Syntha from the VW dealers which is also 10W/40. The problem you have is unrelated, HT misfire or vacumn leak maybe?
-
If you put it up manually, does it come down by itself when the speed drops? if not then probably if the box, I don't think there is a seperate fuse for it?
-
Do the new racks come with track rods? if not you may as well get a pair of those too...
-
Could also be the cable is slack causing you not to be able to reach full throttle?
-
Plug it in to VAG COM to rule out the sensors before spending any money....
-
Nicely placed so it will get clipped when people drive in

How about some pictures of our members ?

If the chip is the same size or smaller than a 5 pense peice then it should be posible, Just had it done on my mums mk3 Golf (free on the insurance) and there is no evidence of the crack at all and it had gone right thru the glass, amazing 8)
-
Take it for a test drive Jim...
-
or change you policy and then 'discover' the broken screen
-
Yeah, go to a different dealer mate, some just don't want to know when you mention 'Corrado' Incompetent Arseholes :x
