  1. I thought the ECU needed to be changed but maybe just a different starter motor?
  2. I think the seals inside the metal casing are now plastic rather than rubber that perishes. My new VW one was metal last year.
  3. That makes alot of sense - I was speaking to someone last year who had a VR but used to have a G60 (from new) but lost confidence after the first charger blew at 5 years old and then had to pay for another one 6 months after VW replaced it (just out of there warranty again) - I guess they didn't clean the system out thorourly enough!
  4. N reg VR6 (N** BME) spotted in Ipswich last nite by me and a few mates (on foot) also a K plate green 16v with no front grill?
  5. Fluid change might be a good idea, clutch system but Gbox also if its never been done.... maybe slave cyl is starting to go
  6. Well, Yeah, I havn't adjusted them at all yet from what Stealth recommended as I want to break them in / get used to them but maybe try a different setting on the way back if I go to Stanford Hall this w/e, overall the ride is pretty similar to yours Kev, as expected. 8)
  7. Are you sure its a Corrado?
  8. Yeah, thats the right price for the Glass and seal (comes as one unit) I suggest you try and get one off a car thats breaking as the whole unit can be reused if good but requires cutting out as its bonded and then re-bonding back in again (mine had to be done when they resprayed the drivers side of my car and the bodyshop had to get a glass company in to do that part of the work)
  9. Yeah, I had to wait a while for the H&R's and thought about Eibachs as they were also about £50 cheaper but I was warned against them... Overall i'm very pleased with my setup, Koni TA's with the H&R's, they are a bit 'bouncy' on uneven roads but get a nice country road with a few bends and its fantastic!
  10. If you buy a universal wheel you will also need a BOSS which is bassically an adapter which allows you to fit that model wheel to your car, MOMO is the most popular make of wheels and they also do there own BOSS's.
  11. Supercharged

    ABS Light?

Don't worry about it, just wash the car (wheels) but if it keeps happening then you need VAG-COM to see which sensor is causing trouble
  12. Don't rule out the fact that you may have another dodgy switch, the GSF ones aren't as good as the VW ones!
  13. Where did you buy it from - or do you know who changed it? - I'd get some legal advise mate!
  14. Tip, especially if you just got a new job... Open up a Halifax Extras current account, you have to pay in £1k a month and then you get free breakdown cover (green flag) and holiday insurance. 8)
  15. Hayward, I've told you before... Stay away from my mom!
  16. I would leave that one, the VR6 engine is very reliant on all the ECU sensors and it sould like at least one of those is dead causing it to be down on power, also the coolant should not boil!
  17. Mike, I found my ones were too long for the BBS's and were rubbing on the abs rotors on the other side of the hub! I just bought new ones fron VW, I got 12 of them for about £15
  18. Yeah, there only a bit more than that from VW exchange
  19. Depends if you were going to offer a warranty really... eBay is probably your best bet...
  20. Just out of interest are they rubber or foam?
  21. So basically you had your ICE fitted by the Dry Cleaners :?
  22. Rear ones from GSF (febi) are £15 for the pair, these are the same as OE but made of rubber not foam so will last, if you are lowering the car you just need to hacksaw what you are lowering by off. DON'T buy Powerflex etc as the polyurethane is way to hard and they are too short as they are not tailored for the car.
  23. Yeah, the engine would be on the ground too
