My Corrado's handling was awful until I had the suspension fitted, felt like the back was going out round every corner... Not sure if it due to knackered shocks or just the standard right height...

Yeah, maybe... you could do with a steam clean mate so you can see whats leaking and where from...

Hmm... the pipe might be fine tho... just corroded because of its location, woth keeping an eye on tho...

White chalky residue is usually left by coolant - looks like you are leaking under pressure from somewhere... maybe just overfilled or expansion tank cap seal...

I ordered the bolt from the part number on a previous thread and it was the 6 sided one and I didn't get the washer which I discovered I needed after Mr Haywire had removed the stretch bolt! After looking on ETKA tho I realised the original one had been superceded with a newer one that looked the same but is the non-stretch type. Henny sent one down for me incase I could not get one from VW in time, I'm keeping that at work so If anyone needs one quickly I can send it down to them first class...

If the slot is as Jedi describes, try a broken junior hacksaw blade and bend one end outwards to 'unclip' the unit from the cage

You checked the belt? - Maybe just needs re-gasing, I think they do every couple of years or so...

The coils are futher apart at one end of the spring...

Have all of them gone.. you sure its not a fuse?

As Mike said, 30k miles and they've had it plus the fact there far too soft!

Think Auto do them, got a catalog at home, also go transmission coolers...

Yup, the non adjustables have only 3 height settings for the circlip also where as the TA's have 5

Exactly, your paying for a rebuild, it should be rebuilt to at as new condition... (Interested to see what Darren has to say on the subject?)

Yeah, Cambelt was only 30k miles old according to my 'full VAG' service history and it looked fine last year when I checked it but looks like the muppets changed the belt and not the tensioner :mad: making the cambelt look like its been round the clock! - I was very lucky indeed, cheers for the help Kev! :wink:

Hmmm... I know the kits are seperate for the 3 to 5 doors but that might just be the mechs because of the longer doors on the 3dr, the motors are most likely to be the same, I'll look on ETKA when I get time...
