Cheers, I'll be the one with the slick front tyres
-
Ah ok - lets go for those then @ £125 the Pair - thanks mate, much appreciated!
-
Hi mate - thanks for that - what are CSC's?? If they are Sport Contact 2's or 3's will probably go for them... will pay cash on day if ok? PM me a tel number if you want me to ring you to confirm?
-
That would be good! - what have you got?? Rainsports would be ideal but depends on what you have and price... I'm currently running P Zero's at the back and Contact Sport 2's on the front, all bought for less than £50 a corner but prices have gone silly now! ---------- Post added at 11:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 PM ---------- Hmm.. Yep - I suppose it's less common but gives a good rolling radius on the C with 16's, profile not too low. ---------- Post added at 11:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:29 PM ---------- Hmm.. Bit of a long shot but just thought i'd see if anyone has a new or nearly new pair of the above size tyres for sale? Will be at Stealth on Sunday too Basically I have a pair of Rainsport 2's on order but these could be another month or so (tried several suppliers) Winter and Summer tyres considered!
-
Mine too, although it could be the Extra Strong Mint Sauce shower gel I used this morning...
-
That's not that bad a list tbh, a Corrado would have to be really bad to warrant breaking... the problem is the more you think about it the longer the list gets. You've done the right thing breaking it into sections, suspension sounds fine, I would get the brakes on and maybe do the rest of the hardlines, give it a service, 4 new tyres and get it through an MOT - that way you'll at least have a complete / working / running car that's not going to p1ss you off every time you look at it!

What's the best silver paint for OEM look?

Allumablast is great stuff, I watched Yan do loads of his bits with it - Only issue is Frost are the only people I know that sell it. -
Some old pictures from star performance fife - march 2003

That A2 GON is a dodgy car too - fake Storm iirc! **Awaits abuse from angry taxi driver** -
Good bit of troubleshooting there! I think ISV's wear out after a while, especially if the car has had a K&N filter or similar.
-
Sounds like the ISV damper pots exploded... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=54565&hilit=isv+damper+pic

Could also be a dodgy X-relief relay - maybe check and reseat everything in the fuse box.

crappy wheel bearings or something else?
Supercharged replied to one_eyed_willy's topic in Drivetrain
You shouldn't have to if you get them exactly right the first time (tricky!) although the only ones I have fitted that have never needed adjustment are genuine ones. -
LOL - can we have an exhaust count for this car Kev? I've personally seen 4 systems fitted to it myself, 2 in a day once I recall
-
New ones don't come with the resistor pack as it's a MK2 Golf part and that only had 3 spd's. I'd buy genuine if you can, used to be £50 from VW and slightly cheaper from GSF (same Valeo unit)
-
Never standard - you want a moonroof from a Passat of the same era - look for the Corrado-like door handles
-
Have a read through this - still working well! http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?45434-312mm-Brakes-on-a-4-Stud
-
The Corrado VR uses quite flat discs compared to the G60 which are more 'tophat'... You can change a 4 stud car to 5 stud without altering the track using the early passat VR discs.
-
Yep, it's very sad news indeed for G60 owners but hopefully Darren will continue to do charger rebuilds on request... He's selling pulleys via eBay - good prices too! http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/s3cne/m.html
-
Youy need to check how the 5 stud conversion has been done, if it currently uses Corrado VR6 discs then the 312 upgrade will work but if it's using the early Passat discs with a different offset then you'll need to re-think
-
What's not working currently? - heater control lights and anything that works from the dimmer etc? If so then I would maybe look at the bulbs for these first before the clocks themselves
-
Maybe try another headlight switch... Did you actually unplug the numberplate lights? - maybe worth tracing the loom wiring to check it's not shorting on any sharp bodywork in the boot - have seen this happen after someones replaced the spoiler mech and not clipped the wiring back as it should be.
-
Very good mate! i need a similar repair to my rear number plate light too
-
Great read mate - you might find that tool maybe of use on the Corrado as the bearings are the diametre I think - just MK4 ones are thicker to take the torque of modern engines.
