Loving this thread! Don't know what your mate would have done when it came to MOT time - scrap the car?
-
Porsche also used to sell at a good price - 924 part I think

Starting to Corrado - lol! Is it a genuine one?? WD40 might be the best thing over winter - anything thicker might hamper its ability to cool

Load reduction relay clicking with no key in ignition.

Try unplugging the ignition switch... especially if it's not one of the new black ones They fail inside and things like this can happen. Could also be a weird earth issue.. anything been installed recently like an uprated headlight loom / alarm etc? -
As above it's probably just air in the system... Did you prime the pump?

Spotted one red with debadged grill at Warren Heath Sainsburys earlier, then another dark one in Woodbridge - both women drivers!
-
New tank - peanuts from VW!
-
Yep, Heritage are useless and expensive - order direct for Germany and cut out the middle men!
-
Very nice! A G60 with leather, ABS, A/C and ELRA - US spec?
-
Yep - very sad indeed and a great shame to see another VW specialist disappear :-( I remember the early days after PD Motorsport when they worked alongside Pitstop Developments G-werks were the original sponsor of this forum and helped Andi out with work on his VR. Darren also went out of his way on several occasions over the years to help me out, I remember being in the workshop at nearly 1am while he was trying to sort a running problem and also taking parts off his own car to fix mine, on another him and Steve came to my house after a show to set up my G60 - 2 of the most enthusiastic people in a VW scene and loads of knowledge between them! As Eric said above is so tough running a business in the current climate, especially in the automotive industry and hope Darren and his family are ok

Best to get a 16V box mate if you can!

Just a reminder to anyone who hasn't paid - please do so asap so Jim doesn't have to chase people! 9am start and please register with Jim when you arrive and we usually run as per the order on page one Just under 2 weeks to go so can I remind people of some important points - 1. If you see Wendy whilst on your way there DO NOT try and keep up - it will only end in tears! 2. Wrap up warm, gloves / fleeces / scarfs etc 3. Check tyre pressures and tracking if you suspect to be off 4. Check the fluid levels and look for any signs of leaks 5. Low cars - Stealth can usually take anything up to 60mm, any lower and you might lose a splitter! 6. Bring drinks and some change to buy food - garage nearby but doesn't have a huge selection. 7. Don't spend too long inside the garage - You may like the smell but carbon monoxide isn't good for you!

Good work mate, will try and catch up later in week - in Bury tomorrow but guess you'll be in Ips? Good to hear your dad's moaning already - can you cheer him up and tell him I need a MKV front bumper painting
-
Yeah that's what made me **** myself - that's got to be the work of someone mentally unstable! The rest of the car isn't that bad really - reversibleish
-
Sounds like a lazy tappet but do you know who did the chains? I'd maybe take it back to them and also question the oil pressure tensioning bolt thingy!
-
VWGTI - is your's RHD?? If it's LHD the MC should still be available...
-
Just buy a non sunroof panel - this is what Ken Lark did on the VW Cup car
-
I still prefer it to the horrible sound of electric CL... Groan - well it does a bit but if it's really noisey I'd suspect it's struggling due to an air leak or kinked pipe
-
Yep, the Halfords ones are £69 and £79 on the shelf (way more than they used to be) but come down to £40 ish with the trade card... Stahlwille who I mentioned above though do a different type of wrench, not spring based so very accurate - they were at the Classic Car Show last year
-
Halfords are great tbh for a home mechanic... Stahlwille is what VAG use
-
Wiring looks. A bit suspect!
