  1. Ignore G28 - that's the crank sensor because the engine isn't running. G40 is the cam sensor - looks like yours is shot but usually the car will run batch injection and around 30BHP down when it's in this state... is it that down on power?
  2. Yep, no point replacing cheap suspension with G-max. If you're on a budget get the KW V1's - they're not great but provide reasonable ride and handling and won't rust like anything cheaper out there
  3. Just think how well it will drive afterwards! If Vince says 'they need doing' then they are probably shot to bits!
  4. I'll take an M please buddy - will collect when my tyres are in...
  5. Yeah, depending on what's been done in the last 5 years I would think about getting new wishbones and bottom ball joints too... If you can though I would hit as much as you can in that area like track rod ends, top mounts, shocks and wheel bearings etc as you'll be paying for 4 wheel allignment. I did pretty much everything on mine 5 years ago as I got fed up with pattern parts failing... around 60k miles later everything is still ok and handles like it's on rails!
  6. Yeah - as above I think Stealth used to charge around £5k plus plus the Engine and parts required for a 20VT
  7. Think it really depends on what comes up engine wise... You'll struggle to find a low mileage 20VT or ABF etc now, maybe worth looking at something more modern like a TSI lump
  8. Unplugging the FPR?? ---------- Post added at 07:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:47 PM ---------- Do you mean the 5th injector? - Blue plug at front right of engine? If so then it's likely to be stuck open and that's the problem!
  9. Yeah you need to scan it for DTC's but could be something like a stuck metering head flap etc
  10. What car / engine is it?? 9A? Could be a lambda issue or wiring to it, faulty temp sensors won't usually have as bad an effect as you describe.
  11. Do you mean rear beam bushes or rear (front) wishbone bushes?? On the axle just fit standard VW items, it's the wishbone ones that you can fit the TT / R32 / LCR items Rear brakes - Audi A3 is the same as MK4 Golf, you need Calipers from a car with non-vented discs plus conversion hoses from Goodridge.
  12. All VW stats are designed so the gauge sits bang in the middle - ie 90 degrees... All MK2's / MK3 Golfs / Polo's I've had do this - if it sits off 90 then this indicates a problem...
  13. Jesus - yeah I think you've found the fault! Usually you have to look hard to see any hairline cracks but never seen one that bad before...
  14. Hmm - going rate for a complete moon roof £50-60... I don't think you can buy both sides of repair kit for that, plus you then need the grease, new seal maybe... plus then you'll have a huge hole in the roof of your car for the time it takes to do the cassette refurb.
  15. ^ Yep, the moonroof swap is the easiest option and requires little skill - good oppourunity to clean a load of bits too including the headlining!
  16. Could be a broken subframe bolt or allignment was done and something's come loose? Either way I'd take it back to the garage or get it to a Kwik Fit / MOT type place to diagnose Also check simple things first - Wheel bolts, tyre pressures, play in bearings when you shake the wheel?
  17. Might be worth calling dunlop as several tyres are not available in 205/50/15 due to being an unusual size... They do a 45 profile but probably better to go for a 195/50/15
