  1. I took mine off to clean and paint it, pretty straight forward. There is a cable clip on the top bolt that was a bit fidley if I remember correctly. Might not be a srtaight forward job working from underneath though. My front end was off which made it easier. It comes off on its own though.

    My Corrado

Liking that a lot, is it standard suspension?
  3. Your car should definately get in the calendar in my opinion Vaughan. Looks great!
  4. I keep mine and I even keep the DVLA reminder letters that come through the post.
  5. I am selling my MK5 GT TDI Sport, it is a 2008 '58 plate car with 78000 miles and full service history. I have recently had it serviced and MOT'd along with the cam belt change and water pump. The car is bright red with black leather interior and heated front seats. 1 previous owner. It has standard 18" wheels and I have fitted genuine GTI side skirts (fitted with proper fixings and not just glued). The car is in great condition but the wheels have been subject to a bit of curbing so to be perfect would need a refurb. Price: £7000 ono, no p/x A lot of the mileage has been from last year when I worked in Newcastle so a lot of motorway miles. Any questions, please let me know.
  6. Are rX's what vornwend has on his storm?
  7. I think ZW1's suited it really well and I have a picture of it from probably 10 years ago at a vw summer nights meet in York. I think some of the first pages of Gareths thread have it on RH's. I also dont believe that you have to put your own mark on a car, I bought mine because I liked the look of it including the wheels it was on and I guess your the same. Your car is known for the car itself not by who has owned it.
  8. Thata the problem with the VR engine bay, so much going on in there its hard to make it look really clean. I'm still yet to get started, just haven't had the time but hoping I will over Christmas. Not sure what wheels you could go for, the compomotives have a really clean line to them (if you know what I mean), the RS's suited it but then thats not putting your signature to it. I really like RH ZW1's but they have been on the car before.
  9. Cheers again Michael, good price for the washer bottle and sump not too bad I suppose. What else you got planned for it over the winter?
  10. Nice one Michael. Is the sump, gasket and washer bottle still available from the dealers? dont suppose you have the price?
  11. Dont think the 140bhp golf engines have a DPF.
  12. Dont suppose you want my 58 plate mk5 golf GT TDI sport!! FSH 140bhp diesel and does 55+mpg on runs and averages 52mpg around town. Looks just like a mk5 GTI
  13. It wasn't me unfortunately, to short notice to get it collected.
  14. I know, its always been my ideal corrado, a classic green storm with low miles and almost as it left the showroom. Never mind, im sure its gone to a good home. I hope whoever has it will show it on here.
  15. Yep and Yep, unfortunately not to me, I just couldn't get it collected in time and no where to put it until mine had sold.
  16. No, was going to buy a different one earlier this week but timing was a bit wrong. If I could have sold mine quickly I would have. Its staying with me now and starting the front end work shortly.
  17. Could have bought mine if you had have posted this yesterday.
  18. Apparently carpro DLUX restores faded plastics or CQuartz C5 (or something).
  19. Wish I'd gone to this. Who's corrados are on the stand?
  20. Just kidding, only my preference. Wouldn't do for us all to be the same.
  21. Nail on the head!! And let's not forget the grille............
  22. You'll have to take me for a spin next show! Fully polished, bit to blingy for me but will definitely sit well against the black. A complete transformation from this year.
  23. Love what your doing with it, personally I would go with silver centres to break up the dark body colour and finish the car with a badged grille. That combined with the engine and interior your onto a winner!! (Can see I'm not too adventurous, but less is more I think)
  24. Thanks but I don't need all of them so I'll wait till next spring and see what's about!

    crash

gutted for you matt! happened to me the other year and its so frustrating. If its slightly out of shape then I'd just pay a paintless dent removal guy (there are a few local to us) then either touch up with wet sand and machine polish or a quick paint job. There is a guy near town that is doing my front bumper and the bottom of my slam panel this winter for £90. He's just sprayed my father in laws bubble car and done a great job. Your excess is probably more then a repair.
