Like so many comparisons it depends on so many variables - roads, weather, standing start or rolling start, driver nerve and ability. I beat an M3 CSL this morning but it was in a traffic jam over about a mile :D

I paid £1700, including 6 months tax, 12 months MOT, full car cover, the stereo, FVWSH and four brand new tyres -

Apparently it is a Coco Chanel edition, they all came with blue hoods and it is a 1.8 K-Jet -

I've never driven a MK1 before - bought for the other half as a Summer car, going to be interesting driving back from Kent - no performance, no power steering, keep fit windows :D -
I certainly haven't regretted getting my toothed belt drive, makes an awesome noise and no belt slippage minimises power losses
-
Fairly reasonable condition considering its 20 years old
-
Depends what you're looking your £500 to achieve - performance, reliability, economy???
-
Thinking about it some more there's something very appealling about a last of the line XJS - pretty well built in their later days and have a certain style about them nowadays
-
MK4 R32 or 968 Sport (better all rounder than the Club Sport) for me. Mind you for a lot less than 15k I've got my fleet, OE+ V5 Bora, two G60's and a MK1 GTI Cab

....thank goodness, they've confirmed production of 10 of these stunning things, not cheap at £94k + VAT but I'd love to be able to afford one, so different from the norm and a highly advanced car, despite the olde worlde looks

Just need to remove the ducting from the bottom of the TB to the boost return side of the charger and route the rocker cover breather either to an oil catch tank (environmentally friendly) or to ground level. The twin inlet kit itself is a piece of cake to fit

It would be a shame to break a basically solid car
-
But apparently they only do these kind of things because society has let them down - they have nowhere to go and nothing to do - I say chain the bar stewards in a line and make them carry out hard labour. A had a previous car broken into and was offered victim counselling - I didn't want counselling, I just wanted the police to catch the scumbags or better still to live in a country where we don't have to worry about these things happening in the first place

PM Edition on the Forum, about £195 including delivery
-
Mine was delivered this week, nice bit of kit, waiting bto get my custom oil catch tank before fitting though, only concern I have is the noise from the TB once the boost return has been removed to allow fitment

Fortunately my wife has decided that she wants to keep it standard, at least that will save some money
-
Oh well I've bought it, just hope its as nice as it looks in the pictures
-
Looking good, I'd love to get my Aqua re-sprayed but its a daily driver and I know I'd get paranoid about using it
-
Its for the wife, shes never frgiven me for selling her previous Golf Cabrio and then her Audi Cabrio without telling her, athough she loves her Bora shes missing a convertible - personally I hate MK1 cabrios
-
Received my BBM ISV re-route from G-Werks this morning (great service - thanks), unfortunately page 1 of the instructions is missing. No answer at G-Werks, just wondering if anyone could e-mail / PM me the first page
-
....been offered an immaculate 1986 Golf GTi Cabrio - white, white cloth trim, blue power hood, Milltek, 86k miles, FSH, 12 months MOT and tax, absolutely immaculate condition for £1800 - any thoughts on whether this is a reasonable price
-
Well it was the right time of year for it to happen.

Thats one thing I'm dreading happening to either of mine, knowing my luck it will happen in the middle of winter -
Getting new tyres fitted to my new refurbed wheels, fitting the BBM ISV re-route, deleting the boost return and fitting the twin inlet kit
-
Has anyone tried the MK5 Golf arms and blades, I believe the blades are the right size, just wondering if the arms would be OK, apparently they are cheaper than the Lupo ones
-
I think you can but in effect they are same output as dipped beam so you're just doubling up on the total output
