  1. Looks good - not that I think theresa lot wrong with the current one
  2. When I was living down in Brighton I went up to Aberdeen to view a Grinnall Scorpion (three wheels, 140 BHP, no doors, screen or roof) bought it and drove it back in torrential rain, round trip of just under 1200 miles in one day
  3. Only thing missing is an open chequebook on the work bench
  4. Came courtesy of good old E-Bay but the Dutch one, had a few things off the same bloke including a full USA dealer launch pack and a mint Storm brochure
  5. Slowly but surely expanding my collection of Rado material
  6. Had a good look over a new 159 and have to admit its gorgeous - makes the Passat look dumpy and dowdy by comparison - such a shame that they can't nail the quality and reliability issues

    Small oil leak

I'm not too worried about it but the wife is whinging about the oil drops on the drive
  8. Luckily the UK operation is doing well, Volkswagen were the only mass market player to increase market share in 2005 and maintain sales volume in a rapidly declining market. Perhaps our European cousins need to learn some lessons from the UK side of things
  9. My 91 Aqua G60 has developed a small oil leak from the rear of the engine, weather has been too crap to locate it but know its definitely not the rocker cover gasket. Only losing about 1/4 litre every 1000 - 1500 miles, gut feeling is the oil pressure switch. Am I right in thinking there is just the one switch, where can I locate it and will the stealer offer me more than one type of switch Cheers
  10. ....has been driving me potty for the last week, wipers coming on and washers coming on at all times. Ended up fitting a new spare stalk I had lying around, all of a 20 minute job, proves the worth of buying up parts when they become available for peanuts. Dread to think how much a new stalk would be from the stealers
  11. White G60 on personal plate, red rear badges on M1 near J14 at about 8.30 this morning
  12. 4Motion front and rear valences are already on order, surprised at how reasonably priced they are (£68 for both)
  13. Oh dear, the buying has begun, set of brand new OE R32 rims bought today, Passat W8 interior light, Milltek ordered, nice to spend monay on something other than the Rado's
  14. I'll give them a try, soon bin them via E-Bay if I don't like them.
  15. Been browsing tonight and ordered a few bits and pieces, front valence fog lights, Angel Eyes, chrome instrument rings and gear lever gaiter and hopefully a winning bid on some 18" RS4 alloys, want to try and keep an OE+ look
  16. After selling the Audi a lot quicker than we expected decided on a Bora. I've had a couple of V5's before and whilst not the most exciting drive I always found them to be incredibly refined and comfortable and definitely a better looking car than the MK4 Golf. Found this and bought it today, absolutely mint apart from a scuff on the drivers door mirror, just need to drop it by 40-60mm, stick some 17" or 18" rims on it and fit a Milltek. Going to use G-Mans Passat for inspiration. Paid £4900 for it - a lot cheaper than comparable Golfs 2000 W VOLKSWAGEN BORA 2.3 V5 4 Door Saloon with FULL Leather Metallic Ink Blue with Black Leather and Wood Trim, 43048 Miles, FULL Service History, Power Steering, BBS Alloy Wheels, Remote Central Locking, Digital Climate Controlled Air Conditioning, Front & Side Airbags, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, Heated Front Seats, Radio Cassette Player with Multi Stack CD Changer, Rear Colour Coded Boot Spoiler, £5250
  17. Thanks guys, you've confirmed what I think I already knew
  18. Not attaching any value to the warranty whatsoever, both are immaculate for their respective mileages
  19. ....between two Bora V5's First is a private sale, lowered, non-standard alloys, FSH, just over 100k on the clock, mine for 4k Second is a dealer sale so will have warranty, totally standard apart from genuine VW rear spoiler, BBS alloys, full black leather, FSH, 44k on the clock, mine for 5k
  20. Swissol for me, shine as good as Zymol but much easier to take apply and take off
  21. ...its been announced that it will be an Aston, Ulrich Bez will only say it will be special and has been codenamed DBS
  22. Apparently most of the production run is still unsold
  23. It was actually the Murcielago that was getting all the attention, must admit its by far the better looking car but the Bugatti is just so special, never likely to get as close to one again, I was told the interior trim is all done in Towcester though
  24. Been working down at VW Group Head Office in MK all week and found it very difficult to keep away from their main reception. On full view and free access for all staff were a Gallardo SE, Murcielago roadster and a Veyron. Quality of the Veyron is totallyunbelievable and it was nice to get the chance to sit behind the wheel, never get the chance again. Was around when they moved them out and the noise from them when they were all running was something I'll never forget
  25. Perhaps I'm out of tune with the rest of you but if you buy plates that you know are illegal surely you shouldn't be too surprised when you get pulled over. I agree totally with where the police's priorities are but the law is the law
