  10. also i would replace the dipstick holder tube aswell.
  11. Not enitrely true there mate... The slam panel to wing bolt on the inside of the chassis leg under the battery tray needs either removing (neat way) or smacking out of the way with a hammer (more fun way! ;) ) else the intercooler fouls on it and won't fit in properly... ;) It's only 2 thin pieces of steel and they don't actually do anything as long as all the rest of the bolts are in place, it's just typical VW over-engineering! ;) correctomondo ian ... steve is usally making coffee when im removing the tab of the slam panel..
  12. better not be  cant afford any more.

    RE spray

do you have contact details for these companys ... as im looking for something a bit special.. 8)
  15. i dont think adapters would work here due to the relativlly low offset. "unless you changed the ineer rim sizes etc etc" redrilled hubs and new discs proberly the only way around it. not impossible like i say as there are companys around that will do this kind of work.
  16. been waiting but well worth it ....

  20. what sized valves has it got in it then steve....
  21. i dont think you quite understand the point here... Were not saying a chip is going to transform any car, its a insight as to HOW a eprom should be set up, as there seems to be alot of people out there setting them up incorrectly. Also i agree with bags of bolts not running well so why would any mechanic worth there salt fit a chip to the car without recommending the car was running 100% before fitment..and send customers away with shocking end results.

  23. G60 owners please read… Chip tuning… It has been brought to our attention recently that there seems to be some problems in mechanics fitting upgraded chips and not yielding the required results. When any chip is fitted where ever it is purchased it is recommended that the timing/mixture is adjusted to suit the new characteristics of the EPROM. Rule of thumb is to set fuelling to 14.7:1 AFR at idle then if using a quality map it should fuel correctly throughout the range. This also needs confirming by running the car to check fuelling/timing throughout the range of the engine. AFR seems to be where people are getting confused this cannot be measured on a gas analyser it has to be checked using a specific AFR / wideband lambda reading device. You can measure lambda value on a gas analyser. This should be typically 1volt = 14.7:1 AFR again at idle. Cars running at 20mpg or less on non spirited driving have a problem full stop. There is either a sensor failing or there is something drastically wrong with the set up of the engine. If your car is over fuelling before looking at the chip I would recommend checking all sensors are functioning correctly check all earths and also check voltage at fuel rail. (Should be no less than 12.5v other wise ecu will be adding fuel as a safety feature) Also check 1 metre vacuum hose / throttle body switches /blue temp sender and timing. An hour spent checking these simple parts of the g60 engine can completely change how your car drives and also how hard it is on your pocket. If anyone has any further questions regarding fuelling/ setting up there g60 engine please let us know and we will endeavour to answer your questions over the phone/mail etc Thank you …. G-werks/PSD.
