  1. I know VR6-South recently had his done at a garage, give him a shout. I had to do mine recently, it takes a while to get through it but its by no means impossible, maybe you live near another forum member who could give you a hand?
  2. Just acquired a copy, looking good Rob, nice one...
  3. So what did you ask for when you got yours done, where did you get it done and how much did it set you back??

    Alloy wheels

Yeah sounds like it could be the problem... You got a VR now trundlemouse??
  5. Very nice indeed, welcome to the forum..
  6. Bugger, i had a feeling that may be the case.. Im gonna do some more work on it tomorrow and see if i can get the pitting out and go from there...
  7. Ok, ive purchased a VGI and metal rocker cover for my car and would like to polish them up before fitting. I have shopped around proper places to have this done and still havent ruled out sending it off but as i have access to mills and lathes and various other bits and bobs id rather do it myself with some guidance.. Yesterday i milled the logo off succesfully and can see now that the metal is pitted and im concerned that if i just polish this it may look crap. So, what have people done with their manifolds and various other metal stuff for a quality smooth finish? Have people had them plate with Chrome or Nickel or have they just had them polished. Has the quality of the finish lasted...
  8. Looking forward to seeing the results with the Rado, keep me posted with your findings.. Im quite happy for you to use mine as a little advert for your Rado detailing business...
  9. Ive noticed that my car washing procedure is becoming bigger and more time taking as it sound like yours must take a while Rob... Ive not done the research you have though and part of the reason id want a proper detail is so i could see the results that certain products will make and know what stuff i should be using.. For example i dont know the first thing about clay bar, i just know what makes the car look good and keeps it in good condition but there is always room for improvement. I know i could get 2 Rados to you for the full treatment whenever your ready Rob..
  10. It is in very good nick, its just the little swirls that id want shot of... Pics will be up as soon as its finished.. Dogzyboy, coilies on yet?? Charger will be a 2008 modification i think...
  11. Well following the lowering a couple of weeks ago ive continued on the spending spree.. Hopefully this picture should be the last one of the engine bay as it is now.. Ive recently purchased a VGI, 268s and have a set of red leads on their way that will transform the car a bit more. The manifold went onto the milling machine thisavro to have the logo removed and will then be getting polished up along with an early spec metal Rocker cover. Its also in the plan to fit a VT front mount while im on to firm the engine up a little as the original is past its best.. In keeping with true Corrado mods though something has to go wrong and that is the auxiliary belt tensioner bearing has gone, gonna replace the whole unit as the adjustment point has been sheared off at some stage in the cars life - typical Corrados!!! Hope to have some pics of the transformation in the next couple of weeks and have it ready for Stonor Park..
  12. A mate of mine had a GTI, it was a 1.6 rather than the usual 1.8 that is fitted to most and IIRC it was a Y reg.. Not sure about colour availability but his was black with red trim and was lovely, got it with 30k on it in 1999, lucky git..
  13. Lovely, very good choice...

  16. I cant wait, is Darren back from his holidays yet? What have you done with the mapping??
  17. Next year i reckon, ive spent a fortune recently so it will have to wait.. Stupidly fast is an understatement but with a supersmooth delivery...
  18. Very kind of you to say so.. Top tip for cleaning is use to use Gliptone cleaner and conditioner available from Ebay for about a tenner (do a search) and clean them when they are hot.. Best of luck..
  19. Bad news, looks like it must have been hit fairly hard judging by the damage.. Main thing is that your ok but i know id be devastated..
