  1. Sounds good Dave.. Would there be any way of making these so that the spoiler could be taken off and fitted quite quickly? The standard bolts are a bit of pain...
  2. Dont apologise. Vagcom is the dealers diagnostic computer software that many people have managed to get a hold of. If you lift the surround of the gearknob (the plastic with the Karman badge on) then you will see a port, that is where it is coneected to and it runs a program which diagnoses any senser faults including your ABS system..
  3. Nice one Dogzyboy, its the best thing ive done to the car, get it done asap i dont think youl look back.. You got the BMC in yet? Heres another couple of cheeky ones...
  4. Cheers guys. These are the Variant 1s as i dont really need to stiffen them up, to be honest they are spot on as they are so im well chuffed. Wheel refurb is tomorrow, looking forward to having it all sorted...
  5. Thanks very much for the positive comments guys.. Darren, enjoy your holiday, ill give you a shout when your back for a return vist
  6. Well at last after months of waiting the car is finally sitting how it should be!! Made the trip to Gwerks yesterday to get Kw Coilovers fitted and came back to find it looking like this. Im over the moon with it, the car drives brilliantly and doesnt bouce around like it did on the standard set up. It also looks awesome. Had a good chat with Darren yesterday and we agreed that decking the car isnt the way, i wanted it to look like as if it had (and should) have left the factory.. A massive thankyou to Darren and the guys down at Gwerks, i know these guys get praised alot but i understand now why that is the case. Im not normally a fan of leaving my car at garages but i didnt feel that way, these fellas are as enthusiastic as us who own the cars, i defintely reckon you cant go wrong so thanks again..
  7. My bad Andy, didnt see the whole number plate, it wasnt yours. I shall wind my neck in
  8. Youve got some work to do here TrentSC, its all part of the fun. 1. Sunroof, put the switch in and see if it will still tilt, the slide is the normal feature to go wrong and there are loads of threads on here to help, have a search. 2.What lights are not working? 3. Again heater problems are common as mook, have a search for that, although the normal problem is to lose the speed function. 4. Id have the temp looked at, could be the sensor in the coolant reservoir is shot but i wouldnt risk it as it will lead to big probs. 7. Buy a door handle repair kit from dave16v on here for 15 quid and the hanle will be fine, the striker inside the handle has snapped, new handles are around 90 quid IIRC. 8. ABS light, get it vagcom'd for any faults.. Good luck and enjoy..
  9. When i had mine done not long ago there was limited information on here. I know there are 4 connections on the rear of the unit, one for the voltage, one for the oil pressure, one for the illumination and the other an earth (i assume) but i dont know the order.. You could get in touch with JIMMI as he did mine succesfully...

    range of remote

Mine doesnt have a great deal of range on it either. I just hold it against my head and that gives it a bit more reach..
  11. Just had to be silver really OSV, looks wierd seeing the plate on a different car... Looking forward to see ing how this turns out and how many sets of rims you end up with for it..

    VAGCOM

Get in touch with vr6storm, he lives in that area and is well established in the VW scene, i reckon hed be able to point you in the right direction..
  13. Nice, that charger looks nearly as big as your engine from that angle...
  14. 1. Normal, they only operate one at a time. 2. Get it Vagcom'd and see if there are any faults in the ABS system. 3. Id take the wheel off and have a look around for anything that could be catching or rubbing (on a re-read youve done this)..
  15. I dont think traders are scum, id just feel more comfortable buying a car from someone where it has been their pride and joy rather than a trader.. I dont know anything about the trader in question and agree if thats the right car at the right price then go for it..
  16. Nightmere, id be devastated.. I hope it all gets sorted out..
  17. Great part of the country for driving, there really are some excellent roads, better when there is no snow though..
  18. Enjoy it skinnyman9000, great feeling when you havent driven one for a while...

    BBS Solitudes

Jack the car up and rotate the wheels by hand to see if they run true... Seems strange that they are rubbing, all solitudes are the same except a 4 stud version did appear on the Golf (convertible IIRC) at some point..
  20. Either get the carriers and calipers from a G60 or a VR and use the 280mm discs fitted to a G60.... Sets do pop up on here for sale regularly...
  21. Am indeed, its at Gwerks at the minute, getting it back tomorrow... I cant wait!!!!
  22. I still need to paint my back calipers - thats a job for when i get the car back.. Look forward to see your when its done, its coming along nicely..
  23. Oh no Jon, not yellow... Id say Black, Red or Silver are the only ones to go for....
