  1. A mate of mine has a VX220 and alot of the things on the net he uses are commeon to both cars as they are both the same.....
  2. What about Karl, hes the stitching man of the moment.... I dont know exactly where he lives though but its central ish IIRC...
  3. I thought the lines cam in predetermined lengths as per ETKA and then they are shaped to fit the car.. Its not a difficult job getting the fluid out it just becomes a two man job when filling them up so as to get no air locks....
  4. You must have photoshopped that engine into the car... :D I was only there last week and it was sat on the floor. Im going to see Jimmi shortly and i wouldnt be suprised if he was out taking it for a spin......
  5. I grease the runners of the sunroof to keep it running smoothly, do your door handles as well, it will keep them feeling smooth....
  6. Right, a major development at last.. Having read through an old CCGB Sprinter magazine i came across a how do on changing the Water Pump. I read the article and towards the end it mentioned details of mixing the coolant correctly as running it to pure, ie too much G12 will cause it to run hot as antifreeze has a different heat transfer rate to water.... So thismorning i syphoned all the coolant out and started again at a much less antifreeze to water ratio and bobs your uncle it runs at 90 degrees at last. Below 30mph it did creep up to 34 or so but that is expected and that is when the fan should, and will kick in... So a huge thankyou to Chris Gaskell the CCGB technical Guru for writing the article and thanks goodness ive gotten somewhere at last.... Moral of the story then, for protection down to -20 degrees you only need 2 litres of g12 in the system otherwise it will run between 5 to 10 degrees hotter depending on how much you have added...
  7. Might be worth a shout, ill let you have a look at the flow tomorrow and see what you reckon...
  8. Thats a shame, i was going to ask if i could come a have a look....
  9. Diesel anyday over a small petrol... Youll have to rag a little engine too hard and will loose all the economy anyway...
  10. What are you running on yours chrishill, suspension and wheels??
  11. Having ahed a recommendation on changing my pump i had a look at it today.. I disconnected the narrow return line that goes to the expansion bottle and watched what hapenned. At idle there is no flow but when revved there is a flow, i wouldnt call it high pressure but a steady flow. Does this match with anyone elses car?? Appreciate it if some one could have a look at theirs - just to confirm my Pp is ok...
  12. Thats exactly how i feel.. Im in the same boat with the coilies, cant really afford so always on the look out for second hand ones. The obvious advantage with them though is being able to decide when you are happy with the height..
  13. How far do the PIs put the car down... I had a look at someones 40mm drop the other day and i quite fancy going a little further than that without decking the thing...

    My 2.0 16v

That is a tasty Valver, looks very nice.. You are using good camera as well by the looks of it... Wheels wise i think they look spot on, keep them...
  15. 230f = 110 celcius... That is too hot, is this when you are mving or standing still.. I wouldnt be suprised due to your weather being hotter than ours if you were meant to ahve a cooler operating thermostat.. As for the oil, a quart is give or take a litre, that seems a lot in a 1000 miles. Im lucky in that mine uses none but i know some guys top theirs up. Id inverstigate further before jumping in and doing an overall on Vv seals or such alike...
  16. Id agree, if its tidy then it could be 3 grand or a shade more... iow_corrado_g60, you got a new motor yet??
  17. It doesnt look like a factory colour that i know of unless it is the lighting.. BBS Rs are the only wheels that will one day replace my solitudes, absolutely love them....
  18. An oil cooler probably isnt a bad idea and is the route i intend to go down.. I wouldnt have said those oil temps were outrageous.. As for the top 2 slat closed grill it isnt specific to the Storm as ive ssen other Vrs with them on. I guess it must have been a batch that VW had at the time, all Storms were fitted with them.. Ive just got my hands on a closed one for special occasions as my original one was broken and have a fully open open one that i use all the time...

  20. http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... _Checklist Have a look at the guide as there are a few Corado specific things to look for but at the end of the day it is a Golf / Passat so look for the usual things.. My only advice would be to look at a few before you buy, youll know when you see the right oe for you.. Classic car insurance is available i believe but im unsure of details.. Happy hunting and welcome to the forum...
  21. Do you mean oil or water temp.. Normal temps in celcius: Water - 90 degrees... Oil - `100 to 110 ish... How much oil is it getting through?? Welcome to the forum by the way...
  22. The passnger side ones have the courtesy light and the drivers one has a sliding cover on it...
  23. Im assuming he means the manual switch. As i put in the other thread both my late cars have ahd the same button while being different models...
  24. http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/ This guy goes highly recommended and will be getting a Solitude from me very soon... Darker wheels would work nicely. Id get in touch with him as he has done alot of VWs and may have an album of his work you can have a look at...
