mic_VR, If mine had behaved like that i wouldnt have changed it, my car now is a little colder than that but much better than what it was... Did you replace the housing that bolts onto the engine (one with the three senders). If so how much did it set you back?? I kept mine but its looking a bit rough in places and will probably need replacing in the future, glad to say its not leaking anymore as the seal was well passed its best..

Good write up, reminds me of yesterday and i can confirm mine is so much healthier with the lower temp thermostat.....

Sounds like an airlock to me... I refilled mine yesterday and to avoid airlocks pour the coolant in slowly, run the car up to temperature and "massage" the hoses to encourage any air in the system to leave... Has you thermostat been in the car long?

You will especially need to lower it on big wheels or itll look like its on stilts... The ride quality will not be so good as there is less flex in the tyre walls... Id imagine youll need some adaptors but 108 PCD is a size im not familiar, they may need to be custom made...

Paint work looks lovely, am not usually a fan of the aqua... Some nice subtle mods there, have you coloured the number plate panel as well??

Right, glad to report progress at last.... Fitted the lower temperature thermostat today. Before fitting me and DanVW put both the thermostats in a sink of boiling water and as predicted the old one hardly moved whereas the new one opened up quicker and further. Having test driven the car with the new stat in it runs loads cooler and responds to air flow when travelling much better than before.... Fans wise the problem isnt sorted. When bridging the pins on the connection to the thermoswitch i am getting the run on water pump but not the fan... All wiring seems ok, Dan has mentioned a Relay which runs the fan when shut down, does anyone know anything about it?? Is there any way i can test the actual fan itself, it does run at 110 degrees so is working but not on the other speeds. A huge thankyou to DanVW for helping me get this step towards getting sorted...

From what you have listed above my symptoms are: One fan only at 110 degrees. Jumped the thermoswitch and got nothing. All hoses are hot.. Thermostat replaced not so long ago and runs hotter than ever so going to a different thermostat tomorrow...

Id say keep em, they suit the lines of the car... As for debadging the rear, go for it, nice touch..

Enjoy yourself... I couldnt go 6 months without driving mine...

Been to the dealers today and have purchased the seals for the thermostat housing, G12 and have sourced a thermostat which opens a bit earlier... Hope this bring my temp down...... Fingers crossed for tomorrow when it gets fitted..... Still no progress on the fans...
