  1. Good news that its alive.. Would be a shame to pass it on especially after sorting the damage..
  2. As you seem to keep popping up on here is the love coming back? Get the car sorted Steve, its far too good to not be used / shown...
  3. Very nice, lovely wheels especially on this colour.. I had a look back to the early pages of your thread and this is a different car, fair play to you mate for raising the standard...
  4. I think thats fairly unanimous.. Should you ever decide you want it back (i doubt it) then just buy another tailgate, they are dirt cheap, have it painted and away you go..
  5. I hope this is a great day for all concerned and that the weather plays the game.. Such a good day, quite disappointed it wasn't on the to do list for me this year..
  6. I would agree, very good paint, leather and some of the inevitable jobs done, maybe with some powder coating thrown in = strong money..
  7. If it was me Tony id lose it, not needed really and does look a bit untidy...
  8. Good work, what is the hose diameter needed? And… Storm Guy, where are the screws available from?
  9. Agreed, i have asked around and had no suggestions for companies up here...
  10. I had thought about it but don't really want to mess about with the car. Do many people choose this option?
  11. That would be more cost effective however the back of the mounting surface is hollowed out in-between the bolt holes so can't be done without compromising strength. Also the securing bolt screws into that area and would probably lost..
  12. Ive only had a quote from G23, not ideal really as that means postage to and from but they do come recommended...
  13. I find it amazing that people (regularly) indicate one way and turn the other.. It doesn't even begin to make sense..
  14. Im pleased to be able to say the wheels will be saying goodbye to the US and starting their journey on Monday.. I can't wait to see them on the car although it'll take a little time to get them ready.. Spoke to the guy who has sold the wheels to me and turns out they were owned by a guy in Utah who had left them in a dark corner for over 10 years.. The seller sounds chuffed that they are making their way "home" to Europe..
  15. Payment and PM sent… Another superbly organised group buy...
  16. They are very retro and i that is the appeal. Im just in the process of ironing out the creases with the postage so hopefully will be here next week.. Once drilled they will be getting powdered the same colour as the Comps / RCs so they are ever so slightly darker than the car.. The plan with the other wheels, at present i don't have one but being realistic i don't intend to start collecting. Im glad you approve Gareth, i know we had spoken about these a while ago and i think you are probably as excited as i am to see them on.. In reality VSR, the Nothelles plus a couple more bits and thats the minor changes made.. After that its back to refurbing bits that you can't even see...
  17. 5 x 100s do exist… What a complete marmite wheel, some people will no doubt hate them and others will just get it.. The rarity factor is just a bonus.. I appreciate the nice comments on the pictures but as stated it was Daves work, all i did was clean it while he worked his magic..
  18. Good news indeed, bet you were apprehensive about turning the key.. I don't think there is a comment i can make on the work standard that hasn't been said already..
  19. et35 5 x 112, will be changed to a 5 x 100..
  20. Ive no doubt the Campaign owners will be pleased to read this.. I overtook your mum in an oak green Mk2 just after buying it in 2007 hence why i recognised the number plate.. Oh, and welcome...
  21. Does the abs pump have a part number on it and does it work?
  22. Some updates.. Had a great Easter weekend, 2 shows in 24 hours.. 1st up was a one in the North East with my Dad (he has a 1973 MG Midget).. Nearly didn't get in as the guy on the gate said "can't get in with that, its pre 1998 only", when i explained he apologised and said he thought it was a new car, ill take that as compliment anyway.. Anyway people love our cars, had lots of folk of all ages come and talk to me about it, great day and some great cars.. Next up Elsecar.. Great pre show socialising with Mr and Mrs Corrado and co, the show itself was a mxed bag of cars, some brilliant stuff (Rallyes particularly) and some Bentley rimmed usuals.. Delighted to be in 5 highly recommended.. Jude (Butterfly) in the top ten best, so out of 15 prizes two went to our Coupes, thats great going in a sea of 5 year old metal.. While there CrazyDave spent a long time taking some pictures. This proves its not the model, its the camera man, I'm so pleased with these pictures and a massive thank you to him for spending over an hour snapping from all angles to capture them.. Last update, its taken me a year and half to find these, they are rare anyway but in this width and offset there must only be a few sets in existence. They need filled and redrilled, refurbed and tyres but I'm very excited to get them. They even still have the locking bolts and are coming with the correct removal tool. They will be beginning the long journey from Colorado in the next few days.. Ive got a very good contact for some related mega rare parts so i can feel a little theme coming on in the not too distant..
  23. I thought that b was an s… my bad...
