FOR SALE Split Rims, Late Black Cloth Seats, Gaz Coilovers!!
Geeba replied to stu37's topic in Parts for Sale
Hmmm what are the Gaz coilovers like? Not a brand I've come across before to be honest? I need a suspension setup for my car -
Superbe work there! Seats look fantastic ;)
-
indeed holy crap! How the hell did that break there? - you'd of thought it would of gone nearer the drive gear where it gets narrower...
-
Jabbasport? Worth a call... they did a lot of work with FI cars over the years.

I bought this.. http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/car-covers-tarpaulins/halfords-advanced-all-seasons-car-cover-medium?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Car+Accessories-_-Car+Covers+&+Tarpaulins-_-327285&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=xipqtxqtq&istBid=tztx&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:868555876|agid:49387671092|tid:aud-297219198129:pla-329404862319|crid:203456299176|nw:g|rnd:7149119223519526887|dvc:c|adp:1o1|loc:1006754&gclid=Cj0KCQjwi97NBRD1ARIsAPXVWWDvjU0_oX_kCYnmU8SJ1Uuf_-wtGv2yue-0V-XHlu6420qWDon6ycIaAjCcEALw_wcB No complaints Seems to keep the weather off and my Mums was getting people knocking on the door and leaving notes asking to buy the car so two birds with one car cover! ;)

Sounds good GF! Are you going to re-dye the leather... I bought a leather steering wheel to replace the one I had which had holes in it... after cleaning the leather wasn't in such good condition so I really need to get it treated. Good find on the portable dehumidifier! - got me thinking now... as much as I don't mind the 90's damp smell LOL! Yeah my car is stored at my mums house which is a bit of a drag :(

Whgy did they never find an alloy wheel design that suited the VW Corrado
Geeba replied to MarkR's topic in General Car Chat
To some degree they are perfect... We were putting 15" BBS wheels on GTI's in the late 80's - I've always felt the Corrado with its rather large wings, hind quarters and altitude could of easily worn a 16" or 17" from the factory - which I hate to say would of aged more gracefully... I think somersetdub hit the nail with Evolos http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?50041-Somersetdub-s-Aqua-Blue-VR6/page11&highlight=evolos You've got the throw back to the 90's and the speedline with the 5-spoke design, yet a wheel that looks modern. -
Cheers mate - appreciate it, will that fit the VR thou? I only need the casting I guess...
-
Yeah very nice work there!

Morning Hasan Unfortunately I left it to long in the patio cleaner which is hydrochloric acid and it ate away the thinner parts of the casting... including the screw threads that hold the motor together :( Usually it does a great job... good on steel and iron but you have to go careful with Ali as it just fizzies away... that was a proper good starter I'd recently bought off Lilfuzzer so I'm double annoyed with myself. Have tried looking for V5 ones on ebay but they all seem to be pattern parts or the Bosch ones look very different... it seems to get listed as an 18T one as well... bit confusing. If anyone does have a broken Bosch one I'd still be interested ;)
-
Cheers fellas... I'll keep an eye out for one, don't suppose anyone can remember where you got yours?
-
This is the part Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Afternoon Anyone got an old Bosch starter motor? Doesn't matter if it doesn't work... I was servicing mine and put the Ali casting in a bucket of patio cleaner.. forgot about it band it trashed it!
-
Got any VR6 ones?
-
Hi George, This quote was from vwgolfr32.co.uk - or VW Teeside they seem to come up as? I did check my local main-stealer but they said the parts were discontinued and not superseded :(
-
Does this sound right? Full Timing Chain kit is £355.71 inc VAT & Delivery I was expecting £200... but three and a half! Sheeesh! :(

I've deleted the air-con on my car, is there a different bracket for the PAS pump on non-air-con cars?
-
Hi GF I've only run the car up, never driven it as the gearbox was toast when I got it, so wasn't sure on it, but the engine was out for the auto -> manual conversion, whilst it was out I thought I'd get a Schrick manifold, that lead to a ported head and big valves... I thought then I'd get the block refreshed, first thing the bloke notices was a wear lip at the top of pots 2 & 4, I was expecting to go down the hone, aquablast the pistons and a new set of rings, but the size of the oversized rings was just to much, he did offer to hone it and rebuild it but I thought it best to do it right. I did think 3.0 litre, but the fella didn't recommend it, apparently its not the wall thickness but the point at where the pots meet at the bottom gets a bit thin, he tried to get a set of the OEM Mahle pistons but there was a 6 week wait from Germany - but he offered me a set of forged Wossners at 82.5mm for the same price and they were in stock, apparently this takes it to a true 2.9? dunno. His advice was spend the money on getting the block/crank/rods all balanced, polished and lightened and on the head as the block bore gains were minimal... the head and the Schrick are off to the 'man in the shed' for porting and matching. I think it will be nice.. probably going to match a pair of Schrick cams, ported throttle body etc. to it all as well ;)

Geeba replied to jaybo's topic in Parts for Sale
Ahhhh good spot Dox! Once again you've got me out of a pickle! :D -
Got one I bought off here, only problem is the clutch spring is missing... if you have a clutch spring spare it could do you a turn
-
Could ask them to box it and then send a courier in to collect it? Go very nicely with you cams Hasan! ;)

Hmmmm I'm after a set of Koni! And Black Eibach springs! -
Hi George! Hmmm yeah it is tempting to go with the cheap ones especially as I've found out the bore on my block is worn and I need 6 new pistons and a rebore :( Decisions....
