Started deep cleaning car and found this connector dangling down beneath carbon canister. I'm not sure what it is for - anyone know?

I was going to list this Minichamps Corrado model on eBay - but thought I'd see if anyone on Forum is interested? Looking for £35 + £3.40 P&P. Paypal and UK shipping only. Model is dark purple metallic, 1:43 scale and 'as new' condition having sat in a cupboard since I bought it. Please pm me if interested or need anymore details.

Hi akacheesy, Sort of agree, the ones on eBay are different to the original mats that came with the car back in the 90's - but not sure about the ones I pointed to being 'fake'. From what I can see, the ones on eBay are identical to a set that I bought from a VW Main Dealer in approx 2011. I'm guessing VOTEX decided to issue replacement mats in a different style? The main difference, other than Corrado being stitched into mat, is the quality. The original mats had a foam backing and just feel better quality, but I'm guessing these are now totally obsolete? For info, the plastic lugs fit the holes of both my original and later styles of mat, but annoyingly the spacing/position of the fixing holes is different. Regards, J

Hi, Not sure if Paul is still active on forum, but I now own that Corrado. Having tried several things as per thread, Paul told me he changed the intake damper (W021133429A - £32 +VAT from VW), which was split. This is the breather on the back of the intake manifold. It’s essentially a catch can for oily fluids that come out of the crank case before the air goes back into the intake. When damaged, you will notice a rough idle and a vacuum leak. Hope that helps.

Good to meet you at Brands Hatch and see your car - look great! As discussed, I had a look for photos of stuff I previously listed on eBay and found this for a Oettinger G60. I think I may have had another Oettinger brochure for a VR6 at some point, but can't find any photos. They're out there somewhere - good luck finding one to go with the car. Regards, James

Hi, My sunroof is currently working perfectly and I'd like to keep it that way. So, I went to VW today and they quoted about £30 for their Sunroof Grease (G00045002), as recommended by the Bentley Manual. However, I can see some people on the forum recommend the Liqui Moly grease, which is about £8. Can someone please confirm whether the VW product is actually worth an extra £22, or should I just buy the Liqui Moly? Thanks,

That weekend is just before I disappear with work for a while, so want to spend day with family. Was thinking a day at Brands Hatch would be pretty cool, but is Deutsche Fest a family friendly event with things for kids?

Now I have a full set of lights with no cracks, I've just invested in a set of fog/indicator light protectors, hopefully arrive over next couple of days - 50 Euro shipped. I plan to drive my Corrado regularly, so I'm going to use them until someone starts making fogs & indicators (that look OEM) at a reasonable price. I'm also waiting to see if Heritage make copies of the OEM headlight protectors. Admittedly lots perspex on the nose of my Corrado is not great, but hopefully no cracked lights. Good luck finding a replacement for your cracked light - once you are sorted, thought this might help you keep them crack free.

I'm looking for a Corrado brochure that covers the transition from old style to new style interior. My '92 VR6 has the old style interior, but the couple of brochures I have start from Aug 93 and obviously show VR6s with new style interiors. I've previously seen a brochure similar to the one in photo below, but picture on the front cover is a Corrado with red VR6 grill badge and is dated September 1992 on the back. There may be other brochures that cover this transition period? If so, please let me know. It would be nice to have a brochure that matches my car. So, if you've got one of these early VR6 brochures and willing to sell it, please let me know.

There was a chap on eBay recently selling some roof bars. I had a set back in the day (see photo) - dropped a mountain bike on the roof (proper numpty), got rid of them after that!! Definitely agree with regards to selling old Corrado. Pictured is my old car - IMO nice colour, Stealth cared for engine, RXIIs and black leather Recaro interior - reluctantly sold it as we needed money for deposit. 'Huggy' on this forum ended up with it, but appears he's not been on here since 2013, so no idea where the car is now? EDIT - someone asked, so I've added a side-on photo of the THULE bike carriers on OEM roof bars.

So I used to have a big box of Corrado 'stuff' Got rid of most of it thinking I'll probably never own another Corrado, including these 3 model kits - obviously I am now regretting this... Interesting to see what Corrado-related bits other people have sold, which they now wish they hadn't?

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but as someone relatively new to this Forum - I thought I'd offer some feedback. Whilst I have a Facebook account, I stopped using it back in 2015 - mostly for the reasons stated above. So this is the first time I have bothered with social media in years, prompted by my recent purchase of another Corrado after an 8 year gap. I'm a massive fan of the Corrado and I'm really appreciating the advice and encouragement from like-minded people. Just saying - Corrado Forum and those that share all that great knowledge, good job, keep it up and thank you.

Hi from another Newbie, You could take headlights apart and sort/replace reflectors. Someone may have spare? Not quite as special or rare as the one above, but if you like the Storm model - see photo? I think they were issued to dealer showrooms as it has a VW sticker on the back? (I think someone may have done a load of reprints at some point?) Mine has been up in my loft for last 8 years, and not for sale, but I've seen them crop up on eBay for about £50 if you're interested.

Sorry, another question. On the way up, the trolley jack head stays relatively parallel to the ground (presumably so weight goes downwards through jack, and not pushing jack backwards). Therefore, it seems less and less of the jack head is in contact with whatever part of the car you are lifting, if lifting one side. Is there anything I can/should do - I was thinking of using a solid rubber puck or solid wood which has a little give, as opposed to metal on metal. Or am I over thinking it? Very proud of my recent purchase, and don't want to ~?!* it being a numpty.

Thank you. Once up, where have you put axle stands? Do I try and get jack and axle stand around green arrow area? Any reason to not put axle stand under the red arrow, or is that likely to bend something?

Lots of advice on the forum and internet, but its not 100% clear. So I've done lots of reading and spoken to 2 VW specialist garages - they both independently gave me the same advice - STAY AWAY from the sill/pinch weld and any body work when lifting with a trolley jack. This appears to be at odds with the Bentley manual and similar guides, but fits with several comments I have read about bodywork being bent out of shape. They explained, if you are using a full size lift and big rubber pads you can lift on the lifting points, but a standard £50 trolley jack is likely to crush the bodywork in these areas on old cars like Corrados. If lifting the front, the garages suggested I jack on the sub-frame where it meets the body, this being a strong area. Before I give this a go, I have some questions and would be very grateful for your views: There is a long thin plate with ARB passing over it. This plate has two bolts (red and green - see photo): ** Are the green and red bolts equally strong points to jack? ** Will jacking on the red bolt distort the bush above it or is that bolt 100% fixed to the body? ** If I jack up on one bolt (probably red), is an axle stand under the other bolt a good idea? If not, any suggestions? Please note I'm not a trained mechanic, I'm not providing anyone with any instruction or guidance, and jacking up a car is done entirely at your own risk. I'm just relaying what 2 mechanics suggested to me and looking for your thoughts based on good/bad experience.
