  1. hmm i might try this when i change my head, notice you had red top injectors on the table there steve,, what chip ar you running with your set up?
  2. thanks,, will have a go at the weekend and report on monday!! 8)
  3. cheers for that i have all the gear so should be ok, as for the shift cables i was going to pop them off the circlips where they join onto the selectors so i dont have to adjust or is this the wrong way to go about it? also should i need to re adjust the cables afterwards do you have any tips for this?
  4. got a new LUK vr6 clutch for my rrado G60 this week, + the tube the thrust bearing runs along,,, plan to change over the weekend, I have changed countless O2O transmission clutches (can do one of those in and out in 2 hrs) but this is my first one with an O2A gearbox, so if anyone could lay down any pointers, etc that would be excellent, should make for a smooth and easy job, as I dont wanna be going in taking off parts i dont need to etc or struggling around parts i should of taken off in the first place, Any pointers will be greatfully recieved, :D
  5. yeap seen it there quite a few times, must be that distinctive numberplate you have,, should be about on mon,,
  6. nice one, gsf have the wrong ones too, they dont stock the proper one for the G60, i got mine matched up at a Gates dealer,,
  7. best tyres i have ever tried are pireli p zeros, stick with what you know,, i have had toyo`s in the past and although they provide good grip they dont last very long, pirellis seem to provide same or more grip and last a bit longer,,
  8. best lock this up before any newbies think that the corrado forum is full of a load of buttmunchers!! get back on focusing about modifying our motors!! :vamp:
  9. i have a spare set of rods from a 16v KR motor, this project is escellating, if im gonna change the rods and pistons then i may aswell go up to a 1.9, prob worth me collecting up the bits over time and doing the whole lot over the winter,, any suggestions on where to get pistons from? and what type? forged or not? i have heard mixed opinions about forged pistons in a road car,,
  10. i have seen kent/TSR cams give good results in 16v 1.8 kr motors along with a flowed head & 4 branch manifold , 146 hp ATW,,,, that engine was in a golf though, as you say the bigger cam in a heavier rrado may not be so good,,
  11. excellent i will go for the 268 then, must admit the g60 does not like to rev power does not increace after 5600 rpm even with a chip and pully, im putting this down to the flow not actually being able to get through the head, at the moment i am running an sns stage 5.5 chip with std injectors, i imagine i am going to have to go to red top injectors to provide the extra fuel i will need, also the Map sensor will be recieving less boost for the same revs as the new head will be in effect using up the excess boost i have already so with my current map the car would probably run lean. I am lucky enough to own a wideband so i will have to have a look at it once its all up and running, Think i am going to need a remap though to release the full potential of the engine and also to make sure it is safe. Another question i have is wether it would be worth getting the head significantly skimmed in order to raise the compression a little to improve off boost and down the rev range response? I have no idea how much you can safley skim an 8v head by before you start running into problems.?
  12. seen this car at my office in exeter a couple times, and at castle combe, hope you get it fixed asap,
  13. I can see in the dark again, check out the brightness on these beauties, Thanks Gavin :D
  14. well just take it easy til then,, i expect its timing as mantioned,,
  15. have you had the car properly set up afterwards? your timing could be a little too retarded, hence increacing engine temp as it will be working harder,
  16. thanks for that jat, was yours that awesome mk1 with something loke 273 bhp? think i`ll be after a 268 cam, dont wanna go too far as its a daily driver, I do have a dx 1.8 cyl head at home but was going to retain the hydraulic tappets so i was thinking of using teh spare PB head i have, only thing im sceptical about the pb head is it says it was made in mexico written inside it?
  17. never new they were selling it in exeter, i`d of filled up i only work accross the road from there,, :(
  18. think again, the cam will still be in the engine pushing some of the valves down, only way all the valves will return into their seats at the same time would be if no cam was in the head,,
  19. hmm hope he posts up how he`s getting on etc then, will give me an incentive to pull my finger out and put the head on if all is good!!
  20. 40 & 35 is larger than standard and i expect thats what yours is, you got yours running yet?
  21. was thinking of a shrick, 266 or something mild like that,
  22. i have a spare set of those plastic tubes if you need some pm me and we can sort something out,,
  23. yeah reason i want to get a big valve head done is because i have a pack c head on my 1600 mk1 gti trackcar its pretty awesome, runs about 135-140 hp from a 1.6,
