Non Daily Corrado Owners- How often do you drive yours ?
emu replied to VWVW's topic in General Car Chat
Not much at all :( I was out 3 times in last 2,5 months :( -
engine - 2,5k head - 600 sp mani - 800 sp chargecooler - 800 and basically suspension, brakes, wheels, 4x4 parts and lots of bits and bobs together costs me over 10K so far
-
You are right but prices of parts are similar when you are driving skyline or VRT, only costs of labour will be much different but in both ways all repairs and tuning will be done by myself. I just like challenge :)
-
How you did it. for 3k you can buy turbo, mani + downpipe + exhaust + injectors, what about rest of stuff ??
-
It's not true, just had more than 10 quotes from gocompare and if you tick import or local there was no different to the price or different was very unnoticeable.

As much as I like Corrado I like Nissan Skyline R34 look. Always wanted R34 but never had enough money to buy one. Always wanted Corrado VR6T and dream comes true very slowly. To build my dream VR6T I need minimum 15k pounds so that's the price of GTT and almost enough on GTR. Already spent well over 10k on parts to do my VR6T and started thinking about selling everything and getting myself a GTT and then GTR after 2 another years. What would you do if you were me ?? VR6T - it will take me about 2 years to build (could take much less time if somebody will do this for me but it will cost a lot of money so almost everything will be done by myself) GTR - GTT on beginning and GTR after 2 years If you owned or you know somebody who own R34 all suggestions will be very helpful.

Brake Master Cylinder, 92 VR6 Cant find a replacement.
emu replied to ZippyVR6's topic in Drivetrain
OK, have replay from a friend and it's not a straight bolt on job. 1) ABS pedal position fits without modification 2) servo itself need fabrication. Need very professional welding to servo pin which operate brake master cylinder. I'm including pictures of modified mk4 servo who my friend sent me. Unfortunately he doesn't have pictures when he was doing it, just a ready servo to fit corrado. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us To be honest I don't know anything about welding so will be sending my servo to him for modification and then will get ready bolt on one from him. -

My friend did it few times in golfs and Corrado's who he modified. So fare I bought servo + master cylinder + brake reservoir for around 50 pounds from ebay, used but from very low mileage golf. Don't know if it needs some fabrication cos still didn't fit it. Will ask my friend if it needs any fabrication and will let you know. -

Yep, one advice. Change your servo + brake master for one from Golf MK4 and be happy with stronger brakes and hassle free life. -
When I did come to UK over 5 years ago I was amazed how hard was to buy winter tyres, it was almost impossible. People in garages were asking me, why do I need them. Finally when found some they were to expensive for me that time. In Poland winters are very bad and you have to drive on winter tyres. Trust me, driving on winter tyres is something else, you can brake, you can accelerate and drive in corners without bigger problems.

Breaking a car, do you get much for a corrado in parts?
emu replied to -Neil-'s topic in General Car Chat
List everything with pictures, you sell more in faster time like that -
Had one w-reg with GT28RS in and it was very fast A to B car. Very comfortable on long journeys as well. Took this car from London to Poland having 4 stops for petrol and toilet only and it was a pleasure to drive. Having circa 350bhp it must by fun. Would I swap Corrado for S3 ?? hmmmm. I did it, I did regret it, now sometimes I regret that I did swap S3 back on Corrado.

I will be interested in plates.

THX. To be honest never notice that, had a few lowered corrado, will have a closer look today how my wheel looks in the arch.

Its a hassle, and be prepared that many of parts won't sell but it's wort anyway. Most of you remember when I was trying to sell my 20VT. Was advertised 6 months and nobody was interested. Was asking finally 3k for it, was offered 2,5 but it was not enough for me. Finally broke it on parts. Already got 3k for parts, still have few parts left worth about 300 quid and I was keeping some parts worth around 600 quid, so together I can say I got 1k more than was asking for whole car, so was worth for me. -
Brilliant idea with the number plate
