  1. Fingers and toes crossed for you. Hope all goes well.
  2. I think the earlier ones had the same hydrolastic suspension setup that the Austin 1300 and othe BL models had.
  3. This is the beauty of music though. There are so many varieties that there is something for everyone. I can't stand some of the techno/electronic stuff that there is but someone else must or it wouldn't exist. Personally I've been into folk music, both traditional and contemporary since I first picked up a guitar and had a relativily successful while as a semi professional. At one stage toured schools throughout Scotland teaching history through folk music. Nowadays I sing an eclectic mix of stuff depending on circumstances, from Traditional folk, to Johnny Cash to the Bee Gees and picked to suit the poetry I recite. I'm now officially a Troubadour on the local circuit????. I listen mainly to folk and classical music but anything, apart from the aforementioned techie stuff, will do. And to quote Woody Guthrie, "What's folk music? Never heard a cow sing."
  4. I know, I know, but I'm old fashioned that way. Anyway I haven't time to make calls on it. Too busy playing Angry Birds and Plague Inc. There's something weirdly satisfying about wiping out mankind with your own little virus. :bonk:
  5. As Kev says there have been revisions to the head gaskets and being bored had a google and found this http://www.fisher-services.co.uk/mgf-headgasket-mgoc-article.htm And if the worst happens www.timguydesign.f2s.com/pics/MG-HG-Replacement.pdf If and when you get it enjoy it, Laura used to arrive at work with a big grin til the head gasket problem. I seem to remember, strangely enough, that the seating position id higher than the Corrado, but that might just be me. Age is a funny thing.
  6. Like this? http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?next_url=/watch%3Fv%3D2ex6dHzcgOE
  7. A girl in the Glasgow office had one when I was still in IT. She bought it second hand at about a year old and in the six months she owned it it spent four in the garage for repairs, mostly head gasket related. the windows didn't seal right against the roof and she spent a lot of time crying. Hopefully that was a one off.
  8. The bonus for me is that I get access to the BT Fon network of WiFi hotspots. With my fancy new phone I can log on just about anywhere it seems. If only I could work out how to make a phone call.
  9. Suddenly I don't feel so old anymore. Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Led Zeppelin and as a bonus a Triumph Dolomite. Just about to You Tube the Battle of evermore along with a last glass of wine before bed. Aaaahhhh. Indeed here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHJH0ETi8D4 I'll just finish the bottle of wine now. It's the last of the good French stuff till just before Christmas when I get my next delivery.
  10. I'm jealous, I only ever get 404 arses!
  11. Thought you had decided to behave yourself.
  12. First time I heard her was when she sang with Fairport Convention in the late sixties. Beautiful voice though personally I'm not keen on "The Sea" as I think it is sung to slowly. Try "Tam Lin" with the Convention though it is more folk rock..
  13. Had a really pleasant surprise the other day. The broadband router started resetting itself every time it got a connection so phoned BT on Monday morning. Within five minutes I was talking to an intelligent, witty and charming young lady called Doreen, who over the next fifteen minutes talked me through various solutions, none of which resolved the problem. She admitted defeat and said she would arrange for an engineer to come out. I was surprised when she asked whether I would like morning or afternoon and arranged for him to come on Tuesday morning. Phone call at 9 am on Tuesday from the engineer to say he would be arriving in ten minutes. He had a poke around the phonesocket, ran a few checks and said it looked like a fault on the line as it seemed a bit noisy and my line speed seemed a bit low at 4 Mb. Started another test and had a coffee. When that test was finished he had a look at the results and said he would have to check outside and disappeared. I looked out the window and he was lying inthe street with his head down the service duct. He was there replacing some wiring for the next 40 minutes till he returned and ran another test. Off he went again to the exchange and eventually returned and reconnected the router. Bingo! it worked. He then ran some speed checks and disappeared again muttering about speeds. While he was away I ran Speedtest and was getting 9 Mb. Really chuffed I was. He returned and messed about a bit more then announced it fixed. After heleft I checked the speed again and now I'm getting 16 Mb, on copper! Today got a knock at the door. It was the engineer to ask if everything was still OK. Now that was service that was totally unexpected and worthy of comment. I was fully prepared for the weeks of hassle that are the normal comments about BT.
  14. Well done that man. I've set the programme to record. Just so I can watch you sweat on the podium of course.

    Shave off one eyebrow.
  16. There are loads of tutorials on You Tube on how to use a multimeter. I found them really helpful and turned my multimeterfrom a pretty ornament into something useful
  17. Mine is a daily and I have no problem with it. A lot of my journeys are short and in town. I've just checked the MPG on MFA2 and it's showing 25.7 average over 230 miles. It may just be the way I drive but I rarely go over 3000 rpm in normal circumstance unless I want to get a bit extra for overtaking or whatever. Then I just drop a gear or two and plant the foot. About once a week or so I go for a batter round the country roads and along the motorway just to get rid of any cobwebs in both me and the car. It's no lower than any other Corrado model and even an old geezer like me has no problem getting in and out of it.
  18. Found £150 in casino chips under the rear seats. Unfortunately the casino had closed down years before. Always was a lucky bu**er, not.
  19. I find it hard to justify spending £400 - £500 on a mobile, no matter how smart it is. My old phone finally died, it was so old it texted in heiroglyphics, so I decided to get a bit more up to date. Got myself a Huawie Ascend G300 that does everything my mates expensive ones do though mine was under £100. http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_g300-4594.php Not to sure what a detailed comparison with iPhones and the like would show but it is certainly a lot of phone for the money. My problem with it is that I'm spending too much time wiping out the word with Plague Inc.
  20. Sat with some friends and an assortment of real ales and played giutar etc, The only fireworks were when the two cats started fighting.
  21. Not wanting to be a doomsayer but I had similar symtoms with my KR and it turned out to be the crankshaft pulley bolt had loosened and screwed up the Pulley keyway causing the timing to be way off. Whole scenario here :- http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55045-Fate-tempted-and-it-retaliated&highlight=%2Bfate+%2Btempted
