g0ldf1ng3r replied to GrahamU's topic in Off-topic Chat
Oooo nice i saw sasha many a time & will never forget the renaissance night at hacienda in manchester - legendary venue!! a while ago a friend gave me a dvd with about 4GB of old skool mix tapes which he had digitised from his old rave tape collection. it is absolutely full of amazing dj sets from around '89 - '92 & has sets from notorious places such as eclipse in coventry, amnesia, starlight etc & other legend dj's like carl cox, top buzz, micky finn if anyone would like a copy i can burn it & post it if you drop me a pm -
hello there, make yourself at home

tidy thanks jim i used to really like an online radio station that was oldskoolravers.co.uk but unfortunately when their server hosts changed they couldnt match the service & the site died :( they used to have dj's mixing live over the internet & a chat room full of like minded people such a pity it shut down -
i too wonder that wullie i do know that if you have a modern chipped passport then the DVLA can use that photo rather than sending in a new one

last friday was a very much a 'booo & yay' kind of day all started with the VR letting me down for the first time out of the blue, i was nearly at work when total loss of power :( engine stalled as i rolled to a halt. fortunately it was in a nice section of road just after a long country lane & just before a very heavily congested stratford road, so she was nice to me i guess lol i switched off completely then tried to start but it would only turn over & not fire, all dash lights & temps etc were ok. popped the bonnet, no leaks, nothing obvious blah de blah. tried to start again, not firing & i couldnt hear the fuel pump running called RAC & a very nice chap turned up in about 15 minutes. upon exiting his van he greets me & as he is looking at my RAC card he says 'are you local? ive seen your motor around here many times'. we had a good chat whilst he was investigating.....she had spark & battery ok, checked fuses for fuel pump & checked the fuel pump relay, all looked ok but then he found there seemed to be an issue with power into the main fuse board :( very very fortunately he was able to get the car onto the T bar thingies that lower out of the vans & a while later the VR was dropped off at the mechanics. i say fortunately as he told me that due to the car being lowered if it didnt get on the T bar thing he would have to call a sliding base flat bed which would be chargeable!! ive not heard off my mechanic yet but im hoping it may just be a connection issue thus a very booo start to a friday BUT later that day i was sent a picture, again out of the blue, as my friend had finally resprayed my spare set of speedlines after i had hand prep'd them!! they are now sat in my nearly completed workshop & need new boots....pics attached just need the VR back now & then get them on

i have a few but im not sure they will be of use...... why do UK petrol forecourts for the public not allow for vapour return at the pump as they do for corporate filling stations? (this is where the amount of vapour is registered for each filling session & the cost of such deducted from the bill - thus they get what they pay for but the public gets ripped off) why do modern TV's not allow 5.1 pass through from an external source? why do samsung advertise & charge for top of the range items when they build them with inferior components that are not fit for purpose & barely last a couple of years? why do the 'powers that be' insist on an electric or hybrid car being more 'environmentally friendly' than a traditional petrol car when it takes more energy to produce & transport the batteries alone than run a traditional car for a life time? why is it that as a UK resident since birth i have to pay for a prescription but someone in wales does not, are they not in the UK? why is it that in the past few years, & during which we are told we are in a recession & many of us are struggling to make ends meet financially or even feed themselves, the richest people in the UK have more than doubled their worth? why do we pay more for the same item in the UK than virtually anywhere else in the world? why is there an apparent cure for cancer in the US but it is not being reported on in the UK? why is it the media feel it more important to feed the UK continual junk about......what this famous person ate, how they had their hair done because they could not master doing their own hair when they were 5 years old, what that famous person shat etc etc...than actually report on what is important in the world? or the most important one......why do my sun glasses always slip off my nose? PMSL apologies if these are the type of things you dont want ;)

well said Jim honestly though, what else would you expect from the complete bunch of idiots who supposedly run the country for our benefit i mean, who knows of an MP who had to tax their own car....or even pay for the fuel put into it it just highlights what an absolute state this country is in with its jeremy kyle warped values where everything is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator

perhaps said friend was thinking that the bores are ovalised - which means it will burn oil & is a definite 'stay away' unless you want to replace the block

valves & rods knocking!? how can he tell that? normally with a VR if there are clunky or odd sounds coming from the engine block it is likely to be tensioners & chains have a look at the forum wiki for the buying guide from my experience I would specifically check: the running gear (front wishbone bushes, tie rod ends, rear beam bushes etc), also cv boots, steering rack boots etc, ignition barrel can be sloppy if it is on its way out, all electrics including wing mirrors & sun roof tilt/slide & spoiler manual raise button under the dash TBH m8 for the money I would hope you could find an example where the seller is not potentially saying the engine is knackered or on its way

ha brilliant m8 lol oh the days :D -
hi m8 if you look at my build thread on page 1 it has pics of my valver which has a Kamei skirt kit on all round http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=44751 unfortunately Kamei no longer produce the kits. i know this because when i brought the valver back recently someone had removed the front skirt & ive been trying to replace it to say the items are rare is a massive understatement! i found a link to a similar kit made by a US company, freedom design IIRC, but the posts were from 2009 or something & even then the kits were extremely expensive. there are some bulky & rather unsightly kits still available but they tend to be from Rieger & deform the natural shape of the rado

duplicate post from my members gallery so as to offer feedback on exhausts......it is a Longlife 2.5" full stainless system (from downpipe back) with sport cat OK then video time again please forgive poor audio & my cabin's rattles In the first video I tried to let it run up the rev's in each gear so as you can hear how the sound builds & drops as you go up the gears. I then tried to capture the burbles as you slow down & down change but it is difficult to hear on headphones. I also then tried to capture how it sounds when you have accelerated in 2nd gear, then let off the fast pedal & let the engine slow the revs down unfortunately the audio doesn't capture the way the sound travels in the cabin; from exhaust at the rear until around 3.5-4K revs & then moves to the front as the BMC / engine sounds take control https://youtu.be/ypoqtPkLXks In the 2nd video I wanted to try to show you how when accelerating normally & at usual cruising speeds the exhaust gives a nice grunty build up in sound, but not overly loud, & then quietens right back down. FYI just before I hit the bumpy dropped section of road I am already in 5th gear travelling around 35mph ish & you can barely hear the exhaust https://youtu.be/ICpGtbPmRYM sorry there are no pics yet, it was a very busy weekend & I really need to get the autosol on the exhaust before taking any lol

thanks chuggs! I was beginning to feel unloved here as they had been up for an hour & not one comment :( perhaps I need to put 'wayne' in the thread title to get more views & comments ;) PMSL wayne, only joking m8! :) glad you liked them chuggs. I must say I really am very happy with it indeed & hopefully the videos showed how it can be a very pleasant, low volume sound when cruising but gives a cracking build of noise when asked to :D definitely a wise move to get the suspension & height sorted prior to the exhaust m8 as Paul at Longlife in Birmingham said it was quite a challenge fabricating it due to my ride height I will try & give the exhaust a polish on the coming weekend or an evening & then post pics of it all

ha you mentioned the golden '4WD'!! which naturally means it should be turbo'd too ;) how I would love something like this in the for sale section http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=90441 & a blackberry too :D

hasan - have you double checked the remote wire out of the sub goes to the correct one on the head unit? also, if you have, it is worth checking the wire itself as I found that I had to replace my remote wire recently as it had a break in it somewhere
