m8 at times it is wild & uncontrollable ;) lol I do have about 300 yards of hedgerows though, as they line both front & back gardens hard work to maintain them but well worth it for all of the bird wildlife we get. the amount of birds nesting in them & the 2 feeders we have in close proximity are almost constantly in use we have regularly see a lesser spotted woodpecker, a green woodpecker, a bull finch & last week 2 pairs of long tail tits arrived I just need a decent super soaker to keep the pigeons & local cats away lol

Definitive Guide to Corrado Stereo Wiring. Mods pls sticky!
g0ldf1ng3r replied to smee's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
is that the 'remote' wire? so as to switch an amp on when the head unit is turned on - thus no amp, no need -
indeed i must remember this year to not waste 4 of those days trimming my hedges like last year

kind of along the lines i had pictured you have a very intimate knowledge of how cars are put together then. i found it quite interesting to see how the cabin is built up when i took the dash out the valver. it was much more complex the VW camper van i helped restore for example how do you find out how to disassemble cars you have not worked on before? do you have a resource you can go to so as to see where screws, bolts, fasteners etc are? i know from when the VR had paint done that the bodyshop struggled with the door handles - the fact they had removed the drivers handle but not the passenger's was clear to see by the finish under the handle

ha ha ha good point m8 maybe i should rephrase to 'when there is less ice & rain' ;)

cool - playing with cars & getting paid to do it sounds fun! out of interest, what does a 'strip fitter' do? is it stip stuff out & then fit other stuff in? lol

time goes so fast when outside of work but then sloooooows down during work hours i constantly run out of time on the weekends & juggling refurbing my house along with 2 rado's i could do with 6 months off work lol hopefully you can get some testing done soon new job, congratulations - a good one i hope :)
-
thanks m8 seats....they will be being tackled once the warmer weather arrives, too bloody cold to be wrestling with then on a driveway
-
quick update, just a pic really :D new blue lines
-
intermittent faults - you gotta hate them! our rado's somehow fixing said intermittent faults however I do love! lol typical that you had no noise on the last journey. i have always found my VR has a funny habit of something stopping working for a while & then just as i get round to having a look why it bloody works again! latest example being - heated seat drivers side in the VR - ever since i have had it it has always had times when the relay would jib out & buzz like crazy. a few weeks ago i started hunting for a relay or a fix. discussed on this forum in a thread & wouldn't you know ever since the buzzing hasn't happened again. toasty bum in cold weather i will not moan at but who knows why it has started behaving did you manage to find anything over the weekend m8?

this is precisely what my mechanic explained to me when he said me leads were 'tracking' fixed with a new set of blue magnecor's - pic going up in build thread later :)

winner :)

you gotta love this new fandangled technology eh quite who's idea it was to put the send button so close to they keyboard I have no clue lol if as you say the noise goes when coasting could it be engine mount maybe I have heard someone mention whilst stationary get a friend to press the accelerator whilst you watch the engine under the hood for any movement I think in the VR for example if the front engine mount is gone you can see the inlet mani lifting & lowering - which could possibly make a knock with each up & down
-
sad story ;( buy another & come back to the dark side :D
-
lol which one? the 1st or 2nd ;)
-
thanks dave - a cider will most certainly be enjoyed this evening
-
ha ha ha I have to admit I completely agree with that final sentiment Jim lol working in IT I very much like to save 'clicks' anywhere I can
-
tidy!!! mechanic just called - VR has sailed thought its MOT with no advisories - good girl!! :D pity I couldn't get it back yesterday though as I would have liked to help CCGB out on the stand at NEC this weekend but hey ho got a fresh ticket for another 12 months
-
ahhh but the excellent helpful resource of Thursdave on here could save you all that trouble very quickly - a PM later & he could probably whip up all the info from his VW system he very kindly sent me an exploded diagram of a headlight so as to help me when I try to transpose the adjusters from one set to another or inspect your current ones & only replace those that look past their best maybe
-
kind of my point Jim - you might be better buying new OE clips rather than the jubilee's - though that could work out more costly of course
-
Hello why would that be then? ive no idea having read the last couple of pages but nice thread revival lol
-
I was & am really pleased with mine fella :D you will definitely need the OEM clip for the hose which goes onto the PCV valve but if you are getting stealth to fit them I would imagine Vince will recall what he did with mine. if not mention "Andy, blackberry VR, head rebuilt twice, polished inlet mani" ;) & that should jog his memory as we spent quite a lot of time together. or say 'the guy whose brought his white valver back after Jon found it on ebay' lol I would give them a ring & ask if you can use the OE constant tension clips too m8 or if they insist using their jubilee's for their warranty

hi jim from comparing the 2 pictures it looks like it is the 2 small hoses I have circled in the image below - just in case....the red ones are the roose hoses ;) I think one of them is the hoses which is near the oil cooler at the front of the VR engine but cant think of hand where the other goes also - if on the roose picture you compare the large hose with the thinner section coming out of it & has a T junction. this is the hose which has the header tank over flow. on the other hoses the thinner over flow section is not manufactured into the thicker hose as per on the roose ones (where circled) although that doesn't have a T junction piece in it & is formed together finally - I chose roose due to reading about many many failures of samco hoses, which are meant to be extremely reputable. just a quick look on here & I think I found a handful of samco failure reports. as such I thought a lifetime warranty would be an advantage as if the so called market leaders suffer failures then it doesn't potentially bode well for cheaper versions finally, again from memory, I am sure I read a fair few things about the quality of the internal hoses surface. such that the samco's often have a uneven internal surface, which could then have an effect on the coolant flow rate. all of the roose hoses that I received had very smooth internal walls & I think I remember Vince being complimentary about such
-
hi Jon sorry - only just seen this only with the one for the hose that attaches to the PCV valve - but this is more due to there not being much hoses prior to the 90 degree bend in said hose the OEM is in fact a one time use clip which is compressed /squeezed onto the hose - they are the round ones with the small castle turret kind of shape all others were ok & still are after about 18 months if I think back I believe I chose to use the roose jubilee's as I was worried using the VW constant tension ones might invalidate the roose warranty - might be worth speaking to roose to ask them about that point
