hmmm now I am wondering if I am chasing an issue around as mine too only happens very often & the misfire only happened once, on the way to work but then it ran fine on the way home that evening & to the mechanic's it has never actually stalled. on the time it starts where it rev's higher than normal for a few seconds then as the rev's started to settle they dropped to almost nothing for a fraction of a second & then immediately picked up to normal cold start rev'ing a video is a good idea, I could do similar
-
what odd timing ;) lol I have been having similar issues lately. however I also had quite a bad misfire last week & prior to that I had a couple of cold starts where it over rev'd compared to a normal start, then dropped & nearly cut out but bounced back to what would be normal revs again I suspected coil pack or cam sensor as the gf's storm had a similar issue not long after she brought it sent to the mechanic for diagnostic, nothing showed up on vagcom etc visual inspection of coil pack showed cracks & he said he could see the HT leads tracking, thus they are showing signs of breaking down replaced coil pack & misfire is now gone but it is still rev'ing slightly higher than normal on a cold start I have ordered a set of magnecor 8mm HT leads to replace what look like the factory VW ones on there currently I would say it is worth you checking your coil pack & HT leads & go from there EDIT: just in case, the cheapest place I could find them was here http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/uprated/magnecor-8mm-ignition-leads.html

Unusual Corrado, not sure what I think of it TBH
g0ldf1ng3r replied to corrado wannabe's topic in General Car Chat
I understand why people mock up things like this as a kind of proto type for a new version rado but why oh why would you butcher the classic lines which helped make the rado what it is today -
thanks rob I will have a hunt for them I agree with your sentiment about the underlay! when the foliage cover was incorrectly fitted I had wet passenger carpets for a while as the cover wasn't immediately obvious. I ended up completely removing the underlay on that side as it just wouldn't dry out
-
I have one that was donated to me with broken tabs but a little hot glue & I believe it will re-fit again ok I can post it to you if you want it to try

good find billcor but OUCH at the price they want the band new ones I got from VW were only about £8 each

not much doing with the rado's recently - mainly due to the poor weather & needing to progress refurb work on my house I did get a solar powered trickle charger from maplin for the valver, as until I fix the headlights it is daytime driving only lol it seems to work well & given the intermittent use of the valver it is now starting better if it had not been used for a few days I gave it a quick wash too which made it look really rather nice from 5 to 10 feet away but made me pine for the good weather so I can get to T cutting it back to some kind of life plus I need to refit the drivers inner door seal - has anyone done this & have any tips? the VR has had a few moments recently with starting up a little odd & decided to have a strop & misfire most of the way to work one day last week. sent it to the doctor (mechanic lol) for a diagnostic - nothing found but I had asked to check the coil pack & HT leads as this was what cause the gf's storm to misfire when she first had it coil pack checked & yup cracked - now replaced & misfire under control but the HT leads are tracking. they look like the original leads so at nearly 167K they have done very well managed to find some magnecor 8mm blue HT's for £119 delivered. I did consider the KV85's but as im more than likely never going to be able to afford to turbo it I went with the aesthetics & got the blue one's to match my roose motorsport hoses :D oh & yesterday I found the drivers footwell carpet rather wet after all the bloody rain on the weekend. I think it may be the door membrane from what I have read & I could see a little trickle line on the vertical part of the carpet where it goes up to the door opening has anyone got a picture of how the bottom of the membrane should look when fitted correctly so I can compare when I get the door card off? it was last off a couple of years ago when I fitted the infinity kappa's in the front

no offence intended but you will find that the community here don't take well to parts which have over inflated prices on them & even more so when the seller has had barely any activity or involvement on the site ebay is the place for that ;) however, when items have a 'fair' price listed here they tend to sell very quickly good luck -
Vibra technic engine mounts for vr6 are they worth doing ?
g0ldf1ng3r replied to john46's topic in Drivetrain
another one here for the OE gearbox mounts & VT front engine -
yup I can vouch for that! I have a constant battle & struggle in trying to juggle jobs refurb'ing the house I brought last year, keeping the VR running & looking nice (well err looking as nice as I can get it), & trying to restore the valver that said, each time I even think about maybe selling the rado / s I just cant entertain driving a car that doesn't make me turn round & look at it with a big smile each time I walk away from it nor one that feels lifeless & unresponsive in comparison
-
hi Kip sorry only just seen your post I do about 30 miles a day on old battered country roads. I run KWV1's with their standard spring rate & have OE front wishbone bushes. I have done nearly 30k miles on the current ones without an issue so something must be not right with the power flex ones I did consider putting R32 ones in but the KW's can be pretty firm already & I wasn't sure if the R32's would increase that

very nice really makes me want to sort the paint on my white valver but the VR must comes first for paint

Morning All I saw the above event pop up on fb - finally a VW meet in close proximity to those of us here from the west midlands area http://allevents.in/stoke%2520prior/vagmen-mega-meet-2016/636631596476453 Having checked the 2016 event list Tempest very kindly posted I couldn't see this listed on there one day event, nice 10am start (for those who may need to travel) and only a tenna per car :)

nice - I have refurb'd mine in the same style as you have - black centres, unpainted bolts & a polished lip. I love the way the titanium bolts look which hold the 2 halves together :) are you able to get any cross over parts between the golf VR & US rado VR? IIRC they both have the AAA 2.8 VR lump in it. rather than the ABV 2.9 VR we had over in the UK
-
no problem - good luck have you thought about giving the ones you have a wet & dry rub down & spray them primer & then matte black? might be worth a £3 rattle can from wilko's - I managed to refurb my early style grill for the valver that way ;) there are before & after pics of the grill on my build thread if you want to see the outcome
-
where did you find this thread from dave lol revival from 2007! ;) not sure on the nut covers but I do have some of these on the valver, no rust, shiny & locking nuts too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230863615488?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D230863615488%26_rdc%3D1
