  1. first time using the workbench on the weekend so easy to put up or down! made the gf a 2ft square planter for a strawberry bed in the garden. being able to secure the clamps in the bed of the bench was very helpful & they held strong whilst the bench itself was rock steady a nice result out of a few bits of old timber which was heading for the log burner lol
  2. I will be needing some in the future as have to sort the valver flaps out need to pull the air box out again 1st though booo hoo hoo
  3. eww not nice news baron - hope you get it sorted
  4. tidy thanks does anyone know if there are specific steps needed to be followed to remove & replace a sunroof motor? my VR current one works fine when I wind it manually, & it always closes on full closure, but often just does nothing when I try to open it on the button I have a working spare to put in but not sure if it is a simple swap? thanks in advance
  5. thank you, i did understand that part but appreciate you clarifying as said i don't want to taint your thread, i was just wondering why the prices are so high? i did many hours research into exhaust options for my VR prior to buying but recall i could only find 2nd hand miltek systems also - FYI marks2 my longlife system seems spot on in terms of noise output. very quiet at cruising & m'way speeds, howls like a good un when given some boot & the down change burbles are goose bump inducing :D
  6. indeed but at least it blows hot on the windscreen & clears it well especially now it also has a new blower motor - its like gale force in comparison to the old one!
  7. ha ha yeah i know m8 - they are so holy they don't even flap about in the wind ;)
  8. nice pictures but holy hell on a fire stick those prices!!! is that £363 just for the hi flow CAT? & thus around £1K if you wanted a system from downpipe back with said CAT? just as an example, & i pls understand i don't mean this to distract people from your post or be negative towards miltek, but i had a custom fabricated & fitted downpipe back 2.5" straight through stainless steel system with hi-flow CAT & oval tip from Longlife for £400 all in. plus the longlife has a lifetime warranty on the system itself, rather than just for the original purchaser is there any reason why the Miltek costs so much more? after all, 304 graded stainless is the same whoever uses it EDIT - there are pictures of my longlife system in my build thread should you wish to view
  9. oooo you cheat! it has only got 2 bloody wheels ;) lol & there was me picturing some V8 transplanted Z of some form nice bike though m8. i always thought BMW bikes were a bit flat cap granddad style but that one looks like a tarmac weapon :D
  10. good points - stored mentally for when i sort the valver flaps
  11. ha ha ha yes m8 they just about tipped the wagon ROFL seriously though, put it forward & get it in there m8! be great to see a VRT in the headlines & may uy you a little stealth credit too ;) lol
  12. ha ha yeah it would have been nice for the GT to know i was definitely glad i was in the VR not the valver lol blimey!! 2.6!! prey tell? what beast be that?
  13. it really is tidy! light enough to carry, well pretty much. very compact for storing when not in use. also comes with 2 12" clamps which can be fixed into specific slots on the bench & best of all takes a couple of seconds to put up or down might be worth you checking stock of you local store online as they sell fast i believe also, B&Q price is £5 to £40 odd cheaper than anywhere else i found
  14. definitely a YAY & BOO post lol agree at least the pipe went when it was with the mechanic, rather than causing a rescue needed good work with the GT too, they are promoted as a 'drivers' car & great to hear your trusty valver treated you well! I had similar a couple of years ago, on similar type road section too, but with a sierra rs cosworth. he was in front & seriously giving it as many beans as he could but I was all over the back of him in my VR. so much so that when the twisty sections turned to a straight he pulled over, waved me past & gave me a big grin & thumbs up lol however, it gave me great pleasure to spank a Porsche cayenne pepper twice from a standing start last week!!! :D oh how the salesman tried to impress what looked like a potential customer in the passenger seat of the porker Chelsea tractor (i work very close to a porches dealer) & oh how my 20 year old VR whooped him twice at 2 separate sets of traffic lights! Zero to 40mph [ish] as that was the road speed limit & has speed cameras along it the silly bugger was even behind me on his 2nd attempt, despite failing miserably on his 1st when he was along side me lol i wasnt going to boot it at the 2nd set of lights but when he floored it & pulled into the left hand lane i couldn't resist but show him up again & let the 6 cylinders howl up to by the red line in 1st & 2nd. then i grinned like a Cheshire cat & was laughing like mad as we both slowed alongside each other for the speed camera & i waved at them pmsl yes it was likely a base model but god damn it was fun out run such a modern motor (even though i detest Chelsea tractors - buy a proper 4*4 like a defender!!)
  15. no danger I have lots of links to various guides etc & document them when I can unfortunately I didn't do the felt refurb when I did my valver matrix so not sure :( I would guess at a tiny bit over size so as it creates a good seal - maybe lol it is a job for this spring I think
  16. Hello all i brought a new workbench last weekend & I thought I would share it as it really is fantastic. it can take a hell of a weight too, 450 odd KG's best part though is it literally takes a couple of seconds to put up or pack away I had been watching them at screwfix, as they had the best price around, but they have barely any stock in the UK & couldn't tell me when they were getting any more. however, I found them at B&Q for a fiver less & it was ready to collect from store the next day http://www.diy.com/work-benches/keter-foldable-workbench-w85cm/654202_BQ.prd
  17. tidy - I think I saw those on offer at B&Q last weekend
  18. morning. good work & yes I recall feeling that exact way when in a similar position lol softly softly catchy monkey & you will be fine m8 here is a linky to a heater box felt refub fella, it is from a golf but the principle is the same http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?261279-Heater-blowing-cold-not-hot-matrix-cleanse-and-air-flaps-foam-refurb-guide
