  1. Really needs seeing in person. Looking at the photos i wouldn't call it mint but it is relatively tidy.
  2. I will go for that Jake I may also deploy a windbrake to protect you all from my eating habits!
  3. Gave up on doing my own pipes and got the garage to knock a set off them up for peace off mind and £10 not bad. Got everything adjusted, got all excited after driving a 1.4 golf for 10 days turned the key battery dead! So the pub it is.
  4. Finally finished the two brake lines after breaking one of the die and having to find a spare one, not only that snapped the handle on the vice then the top of the threaded bolt so pop's welded it up to complete the job. Have the lines in but will be topping up and bleeding the brakes tomorrow so we will see how we go. One last note for the day if buying a flaring kit spend the money at a guess i would say £100+ what i have is a sealy (a good brand) but it is a bottom of the range rebranded set same as halfords. will post a pic of it tomorrow with hopefully a car with wheels that go's and stops and the rest!
  5. I prefer the one piece to the splittie's very smart bud! Didn't realise Lepson's has changed hands??
  6. I suppose your never going to use 5th gear in anger to worry to much about The gearing gap but it might struggle some what in slow traffic.! Like the idea of it though! Andy i will be interested how it Turns out should get reasonable fuel economy at motor way speeds. ---------- Post added at 11:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:26 AM ---------- I suppose your never going to use 5th gear in anger to worry to much about The gearing gap but it might struggle some what in slow traffic.! 7. Finally found the transfer cable for the camera so here's a few more to share around.
  8. I have a spare drivers side wing not sure if it is late or early though! can bring to volksfest.
  9. Would of taken the sump off as a last resort but didn't need to in the end.
  10. Handheld job with different die sizes, i like the look of the tools that encase the pipe completely and the die is threaded and screwed down onto the pipe. Nothing can move that way and you should get the same result each time.
  11. I have a sealey kit but its no where near as much as that think I might have to invest in something more robust.
  12. Have my self 25ft off brake line to practice with, the first pic is attempt one the second pic is of attempt ten I'm now looking for a new flaring bit as I broke it on attempt eleven . If I can do a good enough job on the front two lines Im going to have a stab at the rest
  13. Am I right in thinking that the final drive shortens the top speed?
  14. Had these in red in my old mk2 really nice interior and makes the car with the matching panels.
  15. Some pics will be on there way soon. The car is currently propped up with no wheels, did a trial fit as I was worried the calipers would knock the wheel weights but there's plenty of room! The corroded brake line was the only advisory on the mot so doing them will give the c a clean sheet, I might knock up some sort of boot to protect the bolts from the elements, but we shall see.
  16. Spent the past two days in A very on off fashion thanks to work fitting New coilovers and bushes also have done all the top mounts. In the process of putting on the 288 brakes but have found the metal brake lines on both side are corroded, so have bought a flaring kit and new pipes and bolts, so will be fitting these will do these and then see if I'm brave enough to the rest, going to use copper lines so should last longer.
  17. Been busy today will try and post a pic of the fit but the weights are thin type and don't catch the caliper! Sweet Have done a test fitting with and with out pads, without the caliper sticks out and knocks the spokes of the speedlines is this an issue when the pads where down quite low?
  18. Worked a treat that! The front wishbone bolt was stuck and started to round off so getting the garage to deal with it !
  19. Nice one, the engine is raising up and there is a gap between the engine and back mount but the wishbone is still level has been a long day and it was getting dark which didnt help, will get back on it at first thing.
  20. Replacing wishbone bushes and need to raise the engine to get the drivers side off. Problem is I have removed the stud going through the rear engine mount and have then raised the engine using a jack but the sump is still level with wishbone bolt. What am I doing wrong?
  21. Good work Jake! Really enjoyed the drive there and back and the meet was rather special to. Nice meeting you all need to come up with some more excuses for a pootle though :)
  22. Mine arrived today really pleased with them. Thanks
  23. Red one with black wheels and red rim protectors going through calne just now.
  24. Dont see a problem Max but i never think that far ahead anyway.
  25. The weight are all ready flush against the back of the spokes.
