My mind is almost made up v1's I like the price but from what I understand are a little harsh could do with a slight tweek could get away with softer springs. Now really I'm thinking v2 or v3 adjustment is what i want, but i haven't noticed any one with variant 2 is it worth just jumping straight to 3 and having rebound also! or has kw done a good enough job on rebound on variant 2's to maybe not justify streching to 3's. Hopefully this will be my last post on this matter and I can whip out the bank card. :)

I will take 2 please jake pm me details. Cheers Ben

Thanks Kev I may just get a second set of springs have soft for the winter and harder for the summer when I'm more in the mood for a good drive plus hoping to get some blasts of castle combe in soon.

Has any one had any experience of these coilovers http://venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=3044&manufacturer=Avo&category=Suspension its the avo gtx seem to have a relatively good spec but there are some very differing reviews on them.

It's the arch and the slope running along the top that are different I have an early wing and honestly when put up against my vr find it hard to tell the difference, but still that's your best bet if you still have thee old wing

Once again a very quick MOT only pointers were front tyre worn but have a brand new set of wheels and tyres to go on and a mild bit of corrosion on one of the metal brakelines which i can get on with next week! Plus the mot tester wanted to know if i was selling, he fancied one for a while and it being a known car knew it was sound, well chuffed its nice to know some one else appreciates that you take good care of your vehicle.

Ok i may be interested depending on final price.

Thanks redfox. I like the idea of being able to adjust coilovers and not just the height although not so much the price of them so maybe I will reconsider what brand I go for. Saying that there's no substitute for quality, different beast but I know my bikes and suspension fork quality makes all the difference have rebound and dampening adjust on my current set up and adjust it accordingly dependent on conditions so I'm sure I will make the most of it. Plus have used 5inch travel forks and 2inch and the lesser travel has been the better ride due the build quality and correct set up.

Valve. Adjustment is very particular i lilebbut need a point to start from

Purchases of coil overs is looming really its going to have to be kw, i have been told i can change the spring strength when i purchases them does any one have any preferences, would like to know about any ones experiences with different springs. i noticed Mr Fishwick has jumped from 400lb-275lb to softer 325lb-228lb springs (a while ago i might add). So really style of driving/road conditions (track/main roads) vs spring strength, as really just want to come up with my own starting point and go from there.

Had a leak on my radiator couldn't find it at first, discovered running the engine and building up pressure in the coolant tank created a fountain out of the radiator. I did have coolant on the underside of the bonnet to narrow it down but it might help find it.

Maybe you could build another corrado with all the used spares you have left over. One step beyond in my eyes a definate proper job .

If i had a garage like yours i would not think twice about cleaning the car at 2am.

I have had a loud knocking sound when the drop links for the arb have snapped which has also punctured the cv joint boot. Do you get the knocking steering in both directions?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2552432.htm suppose everything else to get it running will cost a a limb or two but it doesn't hurt to dream.

Old car! you will find little niggles that you didnt notice before as you get more use to it. Gear boxes get worn over time best bet is start with whats cheapest i.e have the gear box oil checked then work up from that. ---------- Post added at 10:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:12 PM ---------- did not know that! every days a lesson

The link has vanished! They were bbs rc on piston heads vw 5x100 with 3 good tyres £250 me thinks, i would have them but already own 3 sets of wheels

Well i asked nicely and this is what i got. Hi Ben All I can think of is that those engines are also used in later vehicles where the Magnatec 10W-40 would not be suitable - so as a " catch all " to be safe as they can't have specific dates and models on the pack. The later engines would be on the VW 502 00 / 504 00 spec so would need either the EDGE 5W-30 or the EDGE 5W-40 as Magnatec would not be suitable for those I assume that your Corrado is an older model that would have originally asked for 501 00 or 501 01 ? The Magnatec will be fine for that - but if you wanted the best performance and protection then the EDGE would be better. The website should be safe as it's done on a model by model basis and I do the recommendations so I will put what I think is most appropriate for the vehicle, although there are only two slots I have, so that doesn't mean the recommendations are the only ones you can use Hope that helps ? Chose a chrome paint and said i wanted it darker was not sure 100% what i was getting but pleased all the same. Yeah its easy to get in the 30's after only 5 miles but my vr is affected quite a bit by the outside temp, summer i can get 35-36 on a short journey, winter 22-23 which hurts the wallet! Have 160k on the clock with no work ever been done to the engine apart from yearly full service, it like's the oil A LOT but is still runs smooth. Think it might benefit from a remap the stainless exhaust popped and crackled loads. When i installed the manifold it calmed it all down!
