Fuck payin 100 fe a stock one, I'm goin for a mk5 r32 item and shorter pick gets the sump up outta the way. As for ford I found all the thermo housing was cheaper from them up ere in sheff and Rotherham
-
I've had 3 differnt seats no problems with any.
-
Almost owt will fit wi a bit of effort
-
Yeh the ventos well nice, web up for sale as soon as it came back from the painters, can't believe he sold it, glad it stayed in Sheffield and went to someone who knows how to look after cars.
-
http://lowdownvw.com/index.php?topic=15566.0 a guys I knows vento, luckily another freind bought this, the spoiler is speed activated and has override switch just like on a corrado, both cars are ce2 fuseboard so I'm guessing it jus plugged in, if ya struggling to open the link I'll try n add a picture when I get home

Water Collecting in door - need additional drain hole?
Erny replied to monzablau16v's topic in Interior
I've been planning on drilling an extra hole right up front on the doors, it's all hills ere in sheffield, water manages to collect and get in places you wouldn't believe on the hills ere. -
Kee let me know when ya get these my mate will weld us up a few no probs, he's doin me a load of weldin soon in return for me helpin put a vr in his valver rado and rendering his garage for him.

Later spec boss same as later spec mk2s n mk3s, but u can use early bosses if u pull yeh shim off your steering coloum
-
This is a good thread, lots of people ask about this alot, well done tandino a+ and a smiley face, hope this is easy for people to find in the search.
-
There's no worrys at all with mots asking as it's bolted down, had one in an xr2 that my mate had previously owned hen he was younger and he used to get pulled alot by the rozzas and they would grab n shake the cage to make sure it was bolted in right.

I've read a few threads with people mentioning struggling with baby seats before, I've had a few different ones in mine (humped rear seat) with no problems at all, got a maxi cosi like mentioned above at the moment, only thing u might want to worry about is if the young en gets travel sick because they don't have a chance of being able to see outta the windows, I've found agnes prefers sitting behind the passenger seat so she can watch me driving, steering wheel etc.
-
All the same matey, ford does seem to be the cheaper option for everything, all the parts come with vw on the stickers on the packs just like at vw n audi dealers
-
Get yasen to the scrappy and cut a sprinter vent out, I kick the fuck outta rear Audi doors when I cut the handles out, that way the don't chage for the full door or in your case wing, the ones from venom cost alot, if you decide to do the Audi handle mod u simply bend a bit of strong wire and drill the release button on the lock, I'll sen ya pics of the ones I've done if a want, Washer jets fit in ya pocket nicely whilst at the scrappy too so get a sen a selction, Nissan micras av a nice descreat one u can fit on ya scuttle, as for side repeaters you only need em for MOT, just strip the wires back in ya loom and tuck em under ya dash poke em outta ya door n stick em to the side of the car for the MOT, not a fail. Bet most MOT staitions woundnt notice em missing anyways. Once I've done myself a new set of door handles I'm gunna sort out keyless entry, boots already done, and I can get under my bonnet in seconds from outside the car if my battery was to ever go flat and prevent me from gettin in the car. Might be worth gettin few spare paynes of door glass, or bridge a bit out bike brake cable across your bonnet pull points so u an hook it and pull it through the grill to pop your bonnet if ya battery dies.

Extra bit of advice, if you do rebuild, soak your new tappets in oil for a few days, they take ages to fill up from just driving them and sound like your driving a deisel, there's a few good descusions on clubgti about bedding the engines in, few oil n filter changes the first 1000miles it'll need some love, I like how the track guys go about it.
-
Buy an engine or buy a donor car and sell the spares, have work done on the engine, whilst you continue to drie your engine to death, run it on k-jet for awhile as it seems more tuneable, nice n simple near enuf plug straight in, dont be too shy when Bedding the fresh engine in, the engines that have been ragged all the life are better because they have, later down the line get some big cams and itbs, don't waste ya time with carbs all u seem to gain is bad fuel consumption, get on 16v section on club gti everything you could ever want to know is on there, all of the above is what I did over the winter, I had a bit of bad luck when a valve stuck, put a hole in a piston and fucked everything during bedding in, I wound up putting a Vr in after that cos I came across a good deal, I love valvers tho and want a mk2 to do all of the above to cos I miss the way the valver revs, what ever you choose tho good luck, alot of time n money and you can be seein close to 200 naturally aspirated bhps from a valver, ied choose abf next time myself they feel nice n torquey on k-jet
-
The 9a 2.0l block and head are identical casts on the outside to your 1.8, you can also use an abf on your k-jet managment and get good results, but it is a taller block and you will have to use all your kr aux belt pulleys n alt. All nice n easy, don't waste your time trying to use te 9a ecu and loom the kr set up is more tuneable, the abf managment involves alittle bit more messing. My friends has an abf on k-jet has loads of torque

Is this bracket supposed to be in the Corrado as well?
Erny replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
My friends corrado vr6 has never had one, I fitted one on mine, not sure how nesacary they are. On mk2s they used to be there for the clutch cable. -
U haven't got to worry about te shapes of te ends of the pipes, the rubber will stretch and fit any shape, just dip em in boilin water, peice of piss
-
I'm realy forgetfull and can't quite remember what my pipe arrangement was on my mk2, was about 3years ago I put the power rhor on tho, as ya see elsewere in the thread a few people keep mentioning a second pipe. As for knife edgeing and flowing your throttle bodie perfomanc wise same as the power rhor the difference it makes is minimal, but every little helps, basically you wanna make air get through te throttle bodie easier, knife edgeing the butterfly is self explanitory, but requires a little thought and helps to be careful. Port matching in this case is making were your throttle bodie meets your inlet manifold smooth and obstruction free, basically you get a dremel n file and open up as much of the throttle bodie both sides as possible then work your way through differnt grades of sand paper to gget it all as smooth as possible, I've a half done 16v throttle bodie and I'll soon be doin my second Vr one, maybe I'll do a guide for the wiki.

If the ecu and loom is still spare let me know mate
-
Use your existing ecu and loom put the new engine in, take the top timing chain cover off With the distributor and put the top timing chain cover from you car onto the new one, bolt your coil pack on and bobs ya uncle. Then if you got a loom and ecu with the new distributor engine spare send me a I might be able to help ya sell it, know a lad that's after one
-
The top one is definatley a Vr one, the other two will be fine, you only need one pipe off them anyways, and can re-route the other, I just can't remember off the top of my head to were, I've one of these in the boot of my car, been there for ages, was in the forsale thread a while ago, I'm in Sheffield I anyones intrested, 20quid posted, I don't have paypal so a bank transfer would be prefered and I can leave the rubber boot that joins to the throttle bodie, as for fitting just use boiling water on the rubber works a treat, port polish and knife edge ya throttle bodies while ya at it

Vinegar kim n aggy style, I use it on the window n sunroof seals

You are right in that the guy who asked the original question doesn't seem to be in the best position to take on an engine conversion, and would proberbly be beat of fixing what he has and learning alittle doin it my friend will supply and fit 1.8ts for around 2k to a very good standard, you will have most likely seen cars he had hand in, and simply added r32/24v in there because 2ks probly the least you could do it for, as for plug and play, I wired up my obd2 Vr the other week and spent half an hour scratching my head and searching for wires thinkin it can't be this easy, before turning the key to find it realy is plug and play, obd1 involves alittle thinking and Reading of diagrams, but obd2 realy is a doddle. This thread is the wrong place for my rant, but a vr6 swap is a good cheap option, and with more people goin 24v vr6s are becoming more readily available.
-
Sorry but I totally disagree with anyone who dissaproves putting a vr6 into a four cylinder corrado. You can buy vr6 engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, all ancillarys, g60 brakes and subframe for £500. And fit it yourself quite easily, can be done in a weekend (althought you will benefit from takin a week) and are very strong engines, (don't hear about half the bottom end problems 24v have when turboed) to fit a 1.8t your talkin £2000, pretty much sames goes for r32 and 24v, all will take a hell of a lot longer, and be twice the headache. Rado vrs sell for around 2grand plus, 16v rados £500 plus My 16v dropped a valve recently, I couldn't have sold my non running car and bought a rado vr, instead whilst searching for 9a/6a and abfs, I found a 200bhp amd chipped vr everything needed fr the swap, plus a magnex system, big brakes, for 300quid, all from a crash damaged mk3, (I was alittle lucky, but found loads for around £400) spent a week fitting it nicely, having had previous experience with my old mk2. best decision Ive made all year, made up for the money lost in January having a 9a fully rehoned, p+p, fully reconed, with plans for itbs to fail on me within days. All from a inlet valve stickin in a guide. I've been using the car everyday for work since, as I was before, Your best bet is to go on mk2vr6.com corrado front ends are pretty much the same except you don't have to ding the chassis leg for the pullys, obd2 is easier to wire up, just read up to get an idea of a shopping list, valver clocks and fuel pump are fine, there's loads of info online. If you lived anywere near sheffield ied have helped you with the swap, I enjoy doin it. rant over, the offer to help, goes to anyones near or around Sheffield as long as you got tea n biscuits.
